Christmas Adverts 2022!

Not seen a thread for this year yet but know there is always discussion when they are out!
Thought it would be good to include links!

Looks like John Lewis etc will be released back end of the coming week, based on last year.

I know Very is out already.

This is TKMaxx. Underwhelming I thought.

I'm interested to see what the tone is this year with a lot of people struggling with cost of living... maybe less extravagant and more saving?!

I couldn't be less excited about the John Lewis advert. 🙄 The last 5-6 years or so have been naff and boring. Some people on youtube made better Christmas 'adverts' than John Lewis. And it didn't cost them £5 million to make. It cost pennies in most cases.

Id not seen any Christmas ads yet apart from the Lidl bear. So scrolling through the links posted, Asda is my favourite at the moment the others are a bit meh!

Lets see what John Lewis has to offer. My all time JL fave was “waiting for Christmas “

Also waiting to see this years offering from McDonald’s. Loved the last 3 years so am hopeful they can follow suit.

The Lidl bear is entirely charmless. Why didn’t they get a nicer happier bear? 😂

Also how does she lose the bear in the first place , and it’s so ridiculous that people would stop in a shop to take a photo just because it had Lidl on its jumper . I could go on …….

I checked out John Lewis's instagram and it seems the skateboard is going to be the thing they're hard selling. The ad is called The Beginner, but they've added a skateboard emoji.

(So anyone whose kids have put skateboard on their Christmas list, buy it today before they all sell out tomorrow!)

Im not on any social media except Mumsnet and whatsapp so Ill check out yourtube first thing and see if John Lewis is on!

I feel like it might not meet the expectations!

I do agree @Floralnomad that the bear story is sketchy at best! I still like it though.

I dont love LOVE any of them yet! I wonder if they have run their course after so many years of big production type adverts!

I hope it’s not the skateboarding crocodile JL have got on kids’ pyjamas and slippers right now!!!

I want love, warmth, twinkly lights and a log fire!!!

Oh I love the JL one!

JL just made me cry which is probably a good sign for a Christmas ad - I hadn’t read any of the hype about it before so had no expectations!

I’ve just watched the JL one & thought this is naff, until the end then I cried.

How have you all washed it? Their website says it's not launched until 8am?
