Ridiculous present requests

DS has decided in what to ask for Christmas from Santa. It's the king/queen's crown. Replica is fine, but needs to be real gold and stones, not a toy. He says Santa is the richest person on earth,so should be fine. I gave checked google for a valuation and it seems to 3-5 billion. Not sure if that was pounds or dollars, but either way is a little out of price range. Reminders that Santa brings all children a present of reasonable value to bring them joy seem to be going over his head, so looking forward to a disappointing Christmas.

Make me feel better. What outlandish present requests have you had?

My dad always tells us that he went to visit his uncle when the queen was crowned and he was a goldsmith, quite a famous one in their area, and for the shop he’d made a replica crown for the window display for the coronation and uncle let him wear it. I’m sure it was a lot less grand and replica jewels etc than dad remembered but it was a good memory for a 9 year old boy.

Last year DS asked Santa for a baby. DS2 is now 3 months old but DS1 wants to ask Santa for another baby…..

caringcarer · 25/09/2022 17:13

When DS was almost 6 all he wanted for Xmas was to play football with David Beckham. He got a football kit with Beckham name on back and a new football. Needless to say he was disappointed and kept looking out window all day as he seemed to expect David Beckham to be on his way. We tease him about it now he is an adult.

I bought this for dd, its quite heavy and expensive looking and she was delighted with it. I think that company does other crowns, I imagine they are all quite realistic.

Tealpoppy · 25/09/2022 17:15

A life sized bionic horse
’sure kiddo,I’ll run down to toys are us and buy two shall I?’

a set of false teeth so he could ‘be like grandad’ (poor grandad didn’t have false teeth-we’d just tease him about ‘how at his age’ he should have a set’)

a baby sister or a bunny rabbit pet on a lead-this was from the youngest child-she got the bunny rabbit

a dolphin-I’d joked earlier that year, that we could steal one and keep it in the bath-little ears where listening

one year one child asked for a tin opener and a red balloon-they got both and where very happy with them

🤣🤣 do one of those adopt a tiger/elephant/penguin adoption sets.

Unless he specified it had to be human.

MrsSkylerWhite · 25/09/2022 17:16

A miniature elephant.

HoHoHowMuch · 25/09/2022 17:17

@tealandteal don't let him watch miracle on 34th street then!

@MessyBunPersonified that looks amazing! Will definitely consider that if he still wants the crown by Christmas time.

My ds, rhen about 4 or 5, asked for pirate treasure for Christmas. Real treasure. Real.

My DH spray painted a load of 1/2/5/10ps gold, made a pirate chest from wood and aged it, and I bought pearl necklaces and gold rings and other costume jewellery from charity shops.

one day aged about 8 brought me a gold ring and said can he sell it for cash?

Well everyone knows you can't sell gifts from Santa for cash! ShockShock

FurryDandelionSeekingMissile · 25/09/2022 17:25

Assuming it's the one that was on the coffin that caught his eye, that's the Imperial State Crown, and you can buy a replica for the low, low price of £1700 www.etsy.com/uk/listing/801367710/queen-elizabeth-crown-replica-state

HoHoHowMuch · 25/09/2022 17:36

@FurryDandelionSeekingMissile that is certainly a lot closer to price point, but still a little out. Normally about £40 per big gift here! Still at the age where trainers are 12 quid from asda instead of 200 from Nike.

My son wants a mechanic outfit but not a pretend one a real one! 🙄

JumpinJacques · 25/09/2022 17:48

My 6 year old has said he's going to ask for a Lamborghini 🤷

QueenofLouisiana · 25/09/2022 17:49

A forest.

We were incredibly lucky, our village has a wood which needed replanting and caring for. It allowed villagers to adopt a plot, including a map showing your bit, for a fee. DS still “owns” that plot. 😀

Worriedmum40284 · 25/09/2022 17:58

DS wants a magic wand. Not a toy one, he's got lots of those, but a real one that does magic and will tidy up after him and make him food. Tempted to just wrap myself up

JustFrustrated · 25/09/2022 18:01

Green.

My youngest asked for green.

To this day I still have no idea what she actually wanted. I got her a dinosaur.

HoHoHowMuch · 25/09/2022 18:44

@QueenofLouisiana I love that! Now I want a forest too.

Bobbins2022 · 25/09/2022 19:25

@JustFrustrated this made me laugh because whenever I ask my DS what he wants he says "pink". He might get a tub of pink playdoh

StridTheKiller · 25/09/2022 19:51

@Favouritefruits Ebay are great for (new) kid's boiler suits. DD has several, they are around the £15 mark.

Thecomfortador · 25/09/2022 22:22

Ds1 today asked if Santa could bring him a wishing gem that had unlimited wishes, so he could ask for anything he wanted and get it. Errm, I don't think that's really a thing, son.

Looking4wards · 25/09/2022 22:29

DS wants a pet triceratops, specifically one that will dance on the table.
I did point out that they're extinct but apprently we're so silly because we can just use a time machine to go back in time and bring one back.

Fuzzybumblebee · 25/09/2022 23:22

Shein do lots of crowns so might be worth a look

crymeout · 26/09/2022 11:44

@Looking4wards I don't know if this helps, but I saw a remote control stegosaurus on the Next website, obviously it doesn't dance but it does move?
