If anyone likes to buy second hand clothes then there is an 85% off sale at Thrift+ thrift.plus/

I just ordered 2 pairs of jeans and an Me & Em jacket which should have been £60+ and it was £10 including postage so I’m quite pleased with that.

Oh gosh, not sure whether to thank you or curse you for this 😂 Have never seen this site before. Have just bought myself a fair few things. Enough that I have no idea how I’ll sneak them into the house without my husband noticing anyway!

I am tracking the price of this chocolate advent bar as I love the thought of driving my husband mad by him only being able to eat one piece per day for December…

I could not do that!

It's £3.49 on cadbury direct and I saw it in B&M today but didn't see the price

Surely when you tell him everything is 85% off (and therefore 64p an item) he’ll be fine!!
I was telling DH about my bargains today expecting him to ignore my excitement and he surprised me by asking if they sold mens clothes… 😂

dizzygirl1 · 29/08/2022 21:46

DD15 is enjoying Vogue magazine, if anyone sees any good offers for a 12 month subscription for her for Christmas please shout!

IggyAce · 29/08/2022 22:11

@dizzygirl1 my dd would love this too. If she’s into fashion I can recommend the Paperscapes Chanel book my dd loved hers. They are beautiful books.

chillimice · 29/08/2022 22:16

Jeremy's Home Store which one of the best places I've found to get jellycats has 10% off with code 10OFF. Sadly they haven't got many Xmas jellycats in yet...

Ehunt1 · 29/08/2022 22:19

@RainbowZebraWarrior no idea what’s going on with herbs in general.my other half went to 3 supermarkets looking for coriander at the weekend. He came back with none, one is the shop workers said they hadn’t had any in for days! Not even the cash and carry’s have it.

DelurkingAJ · 29/08/2022 22:29

If anyone sees any boys (or unisex) size 4-7 Xmas socks I would be forever grateful. Last year I could only find ladies ones in that size and spent forever trawling for a pair that weren’t too girly for DS1 (who is 9).

Apparently boys with feet in those sizes don’t wear them…grrr…(girls simply move into adult ladies but mens socks start at a 7, which isn’t much use for size 5 feet!).

you’ve just reminded me I had this issue last year too! I remember complaining about this as it’s crazy - we’re talking about 9 yo boys who still believe in Santa but can’t get Christmas socks!

Would something like these do?

SNWannabe · 29/08/2022 23:35

@DelurkingAJ Heritage of Scotland site that was linked here recently had Christmas socks for boys or unisex. At bargain prices too…
Socks

DelurkingAJ · 29/08/2022 23:44

@boobybum - amazing, thank you so much!

DelurkingAJ · 29/08/2022 23:47

@SNWannabe thank you for the idea but they have nothing in that 4-7 size range that isn’t pink. But Adsa to the rescue (I feel slightly daft buying Xmas socks in August but so be it).

Christmasmcchristmasface · 30/08/2022 00:38

@BadgerFace thanks for thrift+ I’ve just bought quite a lot of bits for the teens who all have preferred brands etc but they are also canny wee devils who love a second hand bargain I thinks I got about 22 items from jeans to hoodies and shirts for £23 delivered - not so much a Christmas bargain but definitely a new season wardrobe top up as they have grown so much this summer

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 30/08/2022 01:13

Im not sure whether to thank or curse the poster who recommended thrift+ just spent a small fortune on there, my £100 birthday money has literally overhauled my entire wardrobe and got some new clothes for dd1! I've got beautiful dresses, ponchos, sports leggings, trainers, a superdry coat each for me & dd, and more! All designer and expensive brands i love but can't afford! I'm just really hoping my husband is out when the parcel arrives 🤣🤣🤣 I am pretty tired so who knows what I ordered in the end, there could be some strange surprises! 🙈

Trumpton · 30/08/2022 01:27

@CarrieMoonbeams
The Poncetastic Christmas thread starts 24th September. There will be a grow-a-long tutorial for the Paperwhite narcissi on there.

1stTimeMama · 30/08/2022 02:03

Oh @BadgerFace, what have you done?!
I just spent £93 on thrift+, all for me! It would've been far cheaper had I not bought a pair of Manolo Blahnik shoes....or those Prada heels......

BadgerFace · 30/08/2022 07:10

I am impressed with all the posters managing a £50+ spend on Thrift+ - I obviously was browsing the cheaper brands… 😂

BadgerFace · 30/08/2022 07:13

Although to help justify the spending it’s worth knowing that when I sold through Thrift the proceeds went 1/3 to me, 1/3 to Thrift and 1/3 to my chosen charity so you’re partially donating to a good cause!!

MerylSqueak · 30/08/2022 07:48

AlabamaWorley22 · 29/08/2022 23:00

you’ve just reminded me I had this issue last year too! I remember complaining about this as it’s crazy - we’re talking about 9 yo boys who still believe in Santa but can’t get Christmas socks!

I was in Liverpool recently and they had a shop called Kenji (I'd never heard of it before) which had novelty socks including a red pair with stags or reminder ( can't remember) on which I bought for Ds.

dizzygirl1 · 30/08/2022 07:50

Thank you @iggyace that would be perfect and I know she's asked for the chanel, prada etc books too so I'll have to keep an eye out for those.

Just debating the thrift+ shop @BadgerFace shared... I'm not sure I need them but a few new dresses would be nice.... £27 but one is dolce & gabbana. Just wondering whether the wear would be good. Says no issues and good quality...

Wait4nothing · 30/08/2022 07:57

Argh - wasn’t meant to be buying for myself! Just ordered 8 tops, a blazer and a dress for £10.60 delivered 😱 definitely a bargain if it all turns up (paid via PayPal just incase).
