@Cuwins I found this picture on Amazon on the sizes of the animals on the farm tin, I’m assuming the ocean one might be similar.

You could always get it and save it for her second birthday if you think they are too small 😄

Thank you

Apples to Pears Ocean Adventure Tin down from £14 to £3.50 on John Lewis, would make a lovely stocking filler for young children.

They also have Apples to Pears My Garden Playset In a Tin down to a fiver.

My son received the farm version of this for his birthday and loved it. Really handy if your going on holidays/out to a restaurant and want to keep the kids entertained as well!

Thanks for the tip! One Ocean Adventure Tin ordered. Postage was more than the present 😆.

mac1974 · 09/07/2022 13:32

There was a great in store sale in John Lewis at the trafford Centre today in the kids clothes. Loads of fluffy onesies, a helly Henson girls coat reduced to £14 which I nearly caved on, lots of pjs/nighties
Not so much on the toys but they did have some orchard games down yo £3

Everybodysaycheese · 09/07/2022 13:47

Need to hide this thread 🙈 now waiting on the sticker books from aldi, oceans in a tin and a marble run!

FluffyFluffMonster · 09/07/2022 14:54

I ordered the ocean tin too and also some gravitrex in the JL sale!

mac1974 · 09/07/2022 15:28

What age are you all thinking the ocean tin would be good for? 🐑

SpamIAm · 09/07/2022 17:03

@mac1974 I think my 2 year old and 5 year old would both like it equally. Would be conscious of things going in their mouth if under 3 though.

mac1974 · 09/07/2022 17:51

@SpamIAm thanks I think I'll order a couple

shreddednips · 09/07/2022 17:56

Baker Ross has lovely craft boxes almost half price (if you search 'craft it box' on the site they should pop up.) £6 for two crafts, an activity book and stickers. They have dinosaur, space, unicorn, animal and other sets and some seasonal ones for Halloween and Xmas.

I'm pretty sure they've free collection from store but I haven't made it to the checkout yet😅

StyleOfTheTimes · 10/07/2022 06:39

Did the food shop yesterday in Morrisons and noticed they had lots of toys on a seasonal sale. I picked up some stocking filler blind bags for quite cheap. Lol surprise was £6 and mini brands capsule was £5 I think. I couldn’t look to much more as DD was hovering round 😬

Hello! Thank you everyone for bargains so far!
Can anyone talk to me about Air Fryers please? I'm thinking in advance about a potential bargain on Prime Day or failing that Black Friday later in the year. What are people's experiences with them and what extra bits and bobs do you need?

AnotherOne4 · 10/07/2022 09:18

Just looking on the Robert Dyas website. They have a few bits on clearance.
They have a lovely Noah's Ark Set reduced to £5.00

@CottonHeadedNinnyMug
Poster below mentioned Robert dyas sale and while looking I noticed they have a couple of 50% off air fryers

twittwat · 10/07/2022 09:46

I have the (bigger size) Asda air fryer and it's fantastic. Haven't bought any extras, any equipment that can go in a main oven can go in. Currently got a banana bread baking in mine!

How big is it? Not sure how they measure them- is it litres like slow cookers?

Greenstar22 · 10/07/2022 09:56

@CottonHeadedNinnyMug my mil bought me one and at first I thought I wouldn't use it, now I hardly use the oven. Great for roast potatoes, heating stuff up like garlic bread. Any frozen chicken goujons/ chips/ fish finger type things. I just wish I had a bigger one. So definitely go for a larger size one

Totally in love with my air fryer 🥰 we've had it about six weeks and I've used my oven twice. We do have the 9.5l dual ninja which wasn't cheap despite a discount at the time but I can see it saving £££ on not preheating the oven and reducing cooking time. We're also about to become a family of five so was an investment for space. Everything is cooked in half the time atleast and crisps SO much better. Kids food e.g. chips, wedges, frozen corn on the cob, fish fingers, sausages etc all chucked in and done in less that 8 minutes, no preheating. I brought an air fryer cook book on Amazon a few weeks ago which was good for ideas for more exciting things otherwise no gadgets needed. It's still half price

Thanks for mentioning the cookbook. Most comments I had seen about them seemed to be about cooking things like chicken nuggets/chips etc so I wasn't sure it would be much use to us as we are very much a cook from scratch family. Will have a look at the cook book

GrinAndVomit · 10/07/2022 10:17

What’s an air fryer like in terms of energy use?

twittwat · 10/07/2022 12:20

@Cuwins
I'm not actually sure on size, but it can cook a whole roast chicken Grin
I would agree that it's not something that you cook a whole meal in, more parts of meal (ie meat, chips, some veg). I was put off for the same reason, and chose an instant pot over the air fryer initially. I literally never use my IP but have used the AF nearly every day since I bought it. Cannot rave about it enough!

Much less than a conventional oven. It cooks faster and heats up a much smaller volume, so it can save a lot of energy.

Thanks. Thinking about it we do alot of 1 pot stuff so might not work for us
