Nope. Not sure it'll be fixed today, the starter motor has gone.

Also just had a bit of a go at the council tax people as they've removed my name from the account and refused to speak to me about it. She just kept saying she couldn't discuss anything with me as my name isn't on the account. The same account that's been in my name for over ten years 🤯 turns out because I've sent them a letter saying I'm a student they automatically removed me as I no longer have liability? Who knows, either way the poor woman got the brunt of my anger.

NoWordForFluffy · 07/03/2022 17:11

A mechanic once told me that hitting a starter motor with a spanner will loosen the solenoid and get the vehicle started. Obviously that only lasts for so long before it's proper dead!

Hopefully it won't be too expensive for you, Wreck. I'm still paying off our repairs from last year, thankfully on 0%.

WreckTangled · 07/03/2022 18:22

Fluffy it had snapped in half! No idea how dh managed to get it started to get it to the garage. We have enough to cover this thankfully.

Morning! Lovely and sunny here. Windy though. It woke me at about 3 and I was awake for ages arguing on online chat with Vodafone about the broadband issue we have. It was really cold overnight too. Apparently it's feels like -4° right now. 🥶🥶

Wreck, snapped in half?! Bloody hell!

WreckTangled · 08/03/2022 07:57

My car was frozen this morning but here in Brighton it's 5°. Lovely sunny day again.

Morning!

Is your car all sorted now, Wreck?

Dry and breezy here today, apparently. Cracking drying weather!

Our broadband is still poorly; roll on Openreach sorting it out. Good job I've enough data to tether my work computer to my mobile.

WreckTangled · 09/03/2022 06:48

Yes it was dropped back the same day.

It's the same here, quite mild. I've got a busy day and I really can't be bothered.

Dd seems to be happy at school at the moment, hope it lasts, it's been two days so far... I've also emailed the SENCo about ds, he's getting worse with his reactions to things like socks and drips on his pants. I'm not sure what to do tbh.

NoWordForFluffy · 09/03/2022 07:57

I'd go straight to your GP, to be honest. If you need additional support, you'd likely need a diagnosis, and if your SENCo is as efficient as ours was in infants, you'll wait forever and get nowhere.

It sounds like some kind of sensory issue potentially. Definitely worth investigating and getting to the bottom of what's what.

WreckTangled · 09/03/2022 13:34

GP won't be able to do anything. I don't really think there's anything that warrants a diagnosis but I know the OT's run a sensory workshop however they'll only accept referrals if there's two or more issues. Our child development centre rarely accept referrals from GP's as they don't know the child like schools do. I know it's different in different areas though, we've got two child development centres here run by the same trust yet they both have a different criteria and cut off age etc. It's ridiculous. I was also wondering about dysgraphia but I don't know much about it really.

pussycatunpickingcrossesagain · 09/03/2022 13:35

Afternoon all.
It was lovely earlier, but has gone quite grey now. DH mowed earlier and managed to avoid the NDN 😉 and I think the Dyson is dying, it's started to scream when you turn it on...I might have to get an engineer out as it's not 5 until Aug/Sept...do you think they'd fix it?
I trimmed DH hair yesterday, so he looks a little more human 🤣 he worked out we've saved about £250 in haircuts since I started butchering cutting it...and he still has 2 ears. Shock

CrazyBaubles · 09/03/2022 13:45

Lol puss. I cut DHs hair too but we made a mistake last week - he put the clippers on his beard setting by mistake and I didn't notice so his hair is considerably shorter than usual 😳

What a mess Wreck - the least they could do is provide a clear and consistent process so you can get a referral if you need one!
Are the issues always related to sensory changes?

Grey and freezing here. I've not long come back from dawdling to the field and letting ddog run himself ragged walking the dog as he didn't have a walk yesterday - I picked up the sickness bug niece had on the weekend so have been vomiting since Monday evening 🤮
It stopped late last night so hopefully I'm over the worst but it was bloody horrible.

WreckTangled · 09/03/2022 14:12

It's nice and sunny here too, I might fall asleep 🥱

Yes mainly. Although he's started having awful tantrums from other things too like when the cat bit him or if I tell him to do something he doesn't want to do... this morning was more tears over his socks Sad

pussycatunpickingcrossesagain · 09/03/2022 14:13

Crazy oh dear 🤣 I nearly put the wrong colour trimmer on too.
Glad you're feeling better. Has DDog joined in with my DCats in an afternoon "big nap", you know, the one before the "long evening nap" 😻🤭
Wreck Flowers keep pushing the school.

NoWordForFluffy · 09/03/2022 18:35

Evening!

Crazy, I scalped cut DH's hair too short once, in a similar situation. It grows back! 🤷‍♀️🤣

I need to mow our lawn, Puss. Maybe this weekend if it stays dry, as it's our first green bin collection of the year on Monday.

We're apparently getting a small bonus and some form of pay rise from work. I wasn't in the meeting due to having to use my data and Teams eating it up. I'm waiting to find out what's going on with it all when we get our letters.

In broadband news, the Openreach bloke came today. Can't fix the internet, without digging up the path. Blush So it'll be Tues / Weds next week, once they have council go ahead to do so. They're going to put a new wire in, as apparently he's getting a reading from about 20m away which shows a problem with it. Maybe, just maybe, we'll be able to get much higher speeds than we can get now, if we have a new wire! Exciting times ahead. My manager said she'll put an expenses claim through for more data if I need to buy more to get me through, so that's something!

pussycatunpickingcrossesagain · 09/03/2022 21:26

There was more grass on the front lawn than DH expected - he wasn't going to bother, but I may have tutted and Hmm so he did it. It looks quite tidy out there now. 🦔💩 permitting.

NoWordForFluffy · 10/03/2022 06:44

Morning!

The weather is starting to warm up now, but the wind is keeping the 'feels like' figure solidly in single figures. Hopefully it'll drop soon and I can use less heating. We aren't profligate with it now, but I like to use less where we can!

My knee still hurts. It's scabbing over nicely, but it's rather sore. Sigh.

pussycatunpickingcrossesagain · 10/03/2022 11:03

I ordered a new Dyson (for DH 🎁 for our WA Halo ) on 14/2. Supposed to arrive tomorrow. They're not able to deliver until the end of the month... but they've had my money for nearly a month already
How easy do you think it is to cancel something they don't actually have in stock??

I've got one coming direct from Dyson tomorrow instead.

fluffy ouch! It's amazing how much longer things take to heal/scab over when you get to our age (still clutching onto my 40s) Grin
How are the leggings now?

NoWordForFluffy · 10/03/2022 11:20

That's poor, Puss. Hopefully they'll refund you quickly when you tell them! Name and shame the shop.

The leggings were washed after a long cold soak. I sewed the holes up too (1 large, 2 small). I think they'll be OK as I'm pretty sure nobody looks at the knees of middle aged women! 🤣🤣

pussycatunpickingcrossesagain · 10/03/2022 13:32

AO - they've organised a refund, but Dyson are delivering tomorrow 🤷‍♀️
It could end up being an expensive month...the nice plumber that called a couple of weeks back has got the boiler we need, so it looks like that will be a few ££££ in the next week or 2.
DH is a bit worried as it's Cheltenham 🏇 next wk and he doesn't want to miss a thing Hmm oh well...at least I can have a good tidy in the garage...I've not found the back of it for a couple of yrs. Blush

Just listened to our Eurovision entry. Erm...it sounds like he's got something rather vital trapped in a vice...and I'm not sure about the line "if I was an astronaut" surely it's "if i were ? 🤔

pussycatunpickingcrossesagain · 10/03/2022 13:36

not sure about the line "if I was an astronaut" surely it's "if i were ?
just to point out - I didn't go to a grammar school, but DH did and reminds me quite frequently he didn't know either. 🤷‍♀️

CrazyBaubles · 10/03/2022 13:55

puss I think DH is going to do the lawns on the weekend (weather permitting). They were fine until 2 weeks ago but we haven't had any solid dry weather while DH has been home since.
I realised today that there are some mushrooms growing in a patch 😳 so need to get that sorted asap.

I used to work at the race course in Cheltenham for the races as a student. Great tips from drunken older men🤢 but I hated it.

Fluffy glad your leggings made it. I'd be very upset to rip my favourite pair!

We had a row yesterday about housework. I think we both had a point but we haven't argued in ages so it was all a bit crap here last night, and as always, I was so annoyed I couldn't nod off so I'm tired today.

WreckTangled · 10/03/2022 14:34

Definitely if I were puss I did go to a grammar school (I'm a liar, it was called X grammar school but wasn't actually a grammar Grin)

Crazy dh and I are bickering lots at the moment. Mainly because he's stressed trying to sort everything for changing jobs (Monday!) and I'm fed up of spoon feeding him simple things. He's worse than my dad when it comes to doing things online ffs.

I got home from work to find cat sick everywhere. Have done what any good wife would do and covered it with sheets of kitchen towel until dh gets home to clean it up Grin

pussycatunpickingcrossesagain · 10/03/2022 14:44

Wreck is he ok? guessing it's spring and he's starting to shed (the 😻 not the DH) our girly left a hairball in her bed this morning DH was less than amused when I left him to clean it up and boycat barfed in the hall on tuesday...can't wait until it's warm enough to shampoo the carpets!

WreckTangled · 10/03/2022 14:46

He's been pulling his hair out really badly. I think it's just shedding rather than anything worse as there's no bald spots just fit absolutely everywhere! And he still looks really fluffy. He's fine otherwise, just sitting next to me sleeping at the moment 😸

pussycatunpickingcrossesagain · 10/03/2022 14:48

Crazy I've been to 25-30 racecourses. I can safely say that Cheltenham was the biggest disappointment, although Ascot was a very close second. You can't see the horses, they're miles away, and it's full of pssed arseholes who think I* need help. Yeah, mate. I read form better than you mainly because I can see and I'm not wearing beer goggles 🤣
