I haven’t seen a thread yet and it’s becoming somewhat of a tradition to be nosey and look in MNetters Xmas fridges.

Here’s mine, booze is in the garage!

Far too late for some of you this year but last year a MNetter gave a great tip.

List the food and the use by dates before packing it all into the fridge.

It saves finding out of date food a few days later when you finally make your way to the back Xmas Grin

Bumpsadaisie · 22/12/2021 23:16

@bilbodog

Cannot get a single thing more in and all the fruit and veg are in 2 large boxes in the shed!

No room for the wine!

@bilbodog

Love it. Do you live on Lurpak? 🤣🤣

Bumpsadaisie · 22/12/2021 23:17

@TheresOnlyOneWayOfLife

Booze and snacks and chocolate and crisps in the motorhome. 6 of us here, hosting for 9. Also prepared in case of emergencies of any description Smile
@TheresOnlyOneWayOfLife

Wow! This gets the Most Replete Refrigerator award. Congrats.

SandrasAnnoyingFriend · 22/12/2021 23:21

Best thread of the year.
Will contribute on Xmas Eve when my remaining bits come!

Opalfeet · 22/12/2021 23:21

I need to clean my fridge and but some food and I will brb 😀

Snow1n · 22/12/2021 23:22

Im jealous of all these huge fridges! Our fridge is probably just on the small size of average bit Ive been wanting a new fridge for months and just haven't got round to it. I am now seriously regretting not biting the bullet and ordering a larder fridge back ages ago!

Imdreamingofapeacefulxmas · 22/12/2021 23:23

Mines like bilbo dog.
Utterly stuffed full!

Opalfeet · 22/12/2021 23:24

Also wondering if @bilbodog lives on lurpack as well.as double cream

Opalfeet · 22/12/2021 23:25

@Snow1n also have fridge envy- not just the size, but the cleanliness too. 🤦‍♀️

ExplodingCarrots · 22/12/2021 23:26

I can't wait to join in tomorrow. Im intrigued at how many people got spuds in the fridge and now im wondering if I should be doing that Grin

The salad cream that's standing on it's bottom is bothering me. All the other condiments on that shelf will treat it differently!
Defiantly41 · 22/12/2021 23:29

@NMC2022 I think you will have a tiny helper with the dairy products

Backwards31 · 22/12/2021 23:29

Thank you. I got them in Dunnes stores im in ireland. The bottom one normally stores my veg, middle one treats and top one stores my dairy( minus milk). It works v well. I'm really into the storage boxes I have them for everything 😅. I have one for my crisps in my press and 3 actual pink baskets in my press for spices etc. Keeps everything organized 😃

Feelingoood · 22/12/2021 23:30

Single friend has it sussed.. one chillie, 3 bottles of vintage champers. Oh to be single!

TrashPanda · 22/12/2021 23:30

This thread is hilarious! Not only are we looking in other peoples fridges but also asking what certain items are. It’s so nosey it’s making me laugh.

I’m yet to do my shopping (gulp) then I’ll post a pic.

ThePlumVan · 22/12/2021 23:32

@TerriblyNaice I’m bothered by it too - the cap is on the other end so there’s no excuse.

Points deducted sorry.

Wickywoo1984 · 22/12/2021 23:35

Ive been on this site long enough to know that families on here struggle whilst others are big earners. It is such a privilege for me and most on this thread to show off a full and extravagant fridge. However this thread is akin to 'how many toys have you got for your kids-show me'.

Yesterday I worked with a family (autism assessment) and mother said (when asked casually) they had nothing special in for Xmas- just the normal, chicken nuggets (not just because this was what the child wanted). Single working mother, 2 kids, trying her absolute best. I'm used to working with families who are down on hard times but it broke my heart. We referred immediately to local food bank and everyone in the team (we're a charity) stuck a tenner in and someone went to buy a couple of gifts for the kids.

It made me feel ashamed. I was actually worrying if my dc had enough presents ffs and if the sausage stuffing I had (had been replaced from the extra special to just normal during my online delivery ) was good enough .

Opalfeet · 22/12/2021 23:36

I'm leaving this thread now. I'm quite offended by it, all it has done is made me and my fridge feel.inadequate. I have three shelves and a crappy veg box that hardly fits any veg in as it also houses some.mechanic part of the fridge. Going to dream about fridges

I also don't like the fridge doors with the labels not facing the front 😂😂. I like to have same brands together too eg all Colmans together 😂

CoffeeRunner · 22/12/2021 23:38

This is mine. The beans are DDs. Every school holiday she will have beans on toast for lunch. Half a can a day. Not to be confused with the cat food next to them.

CoffeeRunner · 22/12/2021 23:40

I haven't pictured the door as most of it houses a water dispenser. With a milk each side & a block of cheddar above.

Well said. I know people will say we're po-faced but I can't bear the poverty. Some people choose not to look at it or think about it but it's bloody there under our noses. I challenge any of you to watch this video about a man and his wife in Blackpool who are amazing and run a free pizza restaurant and food relief. They're basically having to feed the elderly and vulnerable at this point where they had originally only been meant for the homeless. They still feed the homeless but now they're having to go to people's homes with pizza and food bags because some of them are too infirm to go to food bank themselves. They have a woman in a wheelchair in a queue outside their premises for Gods sake. And a Mother turns up with her children asking "do you have to pay?" Absolutely heartbreaking and I'm not trying to make anyone feel bad....my own fridge is full.... I saw this video yesterday and thought I'd spread it so people could donate.
