Dc are teenagers so not so much to wrap this year fortunately. I’m on the last few things and that’s amazing for me as I’m usually up till all hours on Christmas Eve finishing it off. I’ve even put it in sacks ready. I can’t believe it!

DH started last night and will do a bit more tonight and tomorrow night and hopefully that will be us! Still waiting on a few straggler gifts though.

crazyjinglist · 22/12/2021 20:58

Literally just wrapped the last present before opening this thread. I'm not an early Christmasser, but I do tend to wrap stuff by about a week before Christmas, so this is a bit late for me!

Juanbablo · 22/12/2021 21:00

No, we had an Amazon order delivered today so have a few more bits to wrap.

Bumblebeefriend · 22/12/2021 21:01

I used fabric bags and ribbon for close family this year and plan to reuse the same bags for years going forward. So much easier to do, was finished in a third of the time I normally spend. Was pleased with the results too.

Started tonight but my back is killing me so had to stop. Going to be a long day wrapping tomorrow!

herestoyoucolinrobinson · 22/12/2021 22:12

Did mine early for once, mostly because I knew I needed to help my mum with hers. I'm definitely buying less presents next year!

The only thing is there could well be stuff hidden that I've forgotten I've bought.

My friend always says use the ironing board because it saves your back. I need more space than that though!
RobinPenguins · 22/12/2021 22:15

I was determined to be organised this year and yet, here I am pissing about with masses of wrapping still to do. Am working till Friday so it’ll have to be a mammoth wrapping session tomorrow evening after DC in bed as I won’t leave it all to Christmas Eve again…

dillydallydollydaydream7 · 22/12/2021 22:23

I was! Then DH asked if I will pick up some pyjamas for MIL, so I shall be wrapping tomorrow now also! I secretly enjoy it though 🎄🎄🎄

Icecreaminwinter · 22/12/2021 22:24

I definitely feel better to have wrapped everything early. I think the secret is not to buy so much!

Having read the preparing Christmas veg thread, I am wondering if I could do that Christmas Eve which will be another first!

Bluntness100 · 22/12/2021 22:25

No, we do it on Christmas Eve then put them under the tree.

FayKnights · 22/12/2021 22:25

@mum2jakie

Still got a few things left to wrap but have certainly done the worst of it. Managed to wrap DH presents today but can't wrap the kids until they are in bed
Are you sure you have enough paper to wrap them? 😂
JohnSmithDrive · 22/12/2021 22:52

Mine are 18 & 20 so far less to wrap than when they were young, but I've still done some bits, toiletries etc, only now they need flippin' labels.

JohnSmithDrive · 22/12/2021 22:54

I sent DS1 out for sellotape. Apparently neither Tesco nor Asda had any Hmm

So the remaining gifts might be stuck with plasters Grin

slaybell · 22/12/2021 22:55

Couple of bits left but I have run out of hiding spaces (DC still believers) so they are currently sat in amazon boxes.

runsmidgeOMG · 22/12/2021 23:00

Another done and dusted by November here !
My DP wants to know if I'll wrap mine from HIM cheeky bastard....

pradaville · 22/12/2021 23:06

I spent a half day off work one Friday wrapping for a gd few hours. Then spent last Sunday 8-11.30. I though I had done them all apart from a couple of pressies for dh but he then reminded me of 2 things I hadn't wrapped. Then I also got a couple of wee things to go in with my nieces and nephews so I've now got about another 5 to wrap plus dh's so maybe 8/9 🙄

I do have a Barbie item to build up and put the million stickers on top for my little girl.

Lurleene · 22/12/2021 23:07

Finished wrapping today, apart from one charity gift I ordered on the 9th that still hasn't been delivered. It was a great relief.

I have no time to do anything tomorrow but the house is an absolute shit-tip and we have no food in yet (hosting) so Christmas Eve will be fun.

WeyAyeMan · 22/12/2021 23:14

No I haven't even bought everything I need yet 😩

MintyGreenDream · 22/12/2021 23:16

Have I fuck! I'm doing the rest Xmas eve

Justajot · 22/12/2021 23:58

I haven't started, but only santa gifts get wrapped in our house. Everything else goes in gift bags that come out again and again for birthdays and Christmas and anything too big gets wrapped in a blanket. It's much less stressful and wasteful than wrapping everything in paper and my DDs don't seem to mind.

In the year DD2 was born, I spent a whole day wrapping presents. Having since gone back to work, I began finding it all really stressful as I obviously didn't have a spare day for wrapping. Then MIL started to get their presents delivered straight to us "in case it snows and we can't get to you, you don't mind wrapping them do you?". And it all got far too much to deal with. I'm so glad we stopped the madness.

Queeen · 23/12/2021 00:18

All done, been done for a couple of weeks. [smug]

Snowmonkeycoat · 23/12/2021 02:56

Yes, and now I'm bored. I was meaning to save one or two to wrap on Christmas eve but my obsession with wrapping everything as soon as it comes into the house has clearly won.

Snowmonkeycoat · 23/12/2021 03:01

Hack for wrapping with no sticky tape, just incase you can't find any.

CharSiu · 23/12/2021 03:38

No and I still have to make two presents, some special biscuits that are a little in joke for DS and I have saved two old t.shirts that are falling apart and making them in to a cushion cover for DH office chair. One was a t.shirt he wore on our honeymoon almost 21 year ago, he was quite sad when he realised it needed throwing and the other is one of the first gifts he ever bought me but it was far too big so he wore it.
