My butcher has let me down with a game pie so we may have to make do with MILs butcher's small ham and chicken ones instead - and that's not even guaranteed.

** not actually mine but on a WhatsApp group where we're all seriously invested in helping solve this terrible quandary..

Any other suitably trivial yet high class problems in your house tonight?!

I haven't been able to find a stollen without palm oil, so we'll have to go without (because I don't have a cook who can make me one without it, and I'm on holiday!)

@Nidan2Sandan whats his hourly rate? we ave just had a strop over the prep for Christmas while doing the decorations as i am nursing dental antibiotics, He sounds efficient and useful.

I'm happy to say I treated myself to a large game pie from the fortum and mason this year as I wanted proper meat chunks. They may still be able to get delivery from there if you want to feed that back to the person in crisis?

I'm shocked that palm oil has found its way into stollen?? I didn't bloody know that, how frustrating!

I've been trying to find choclate made without palm oil. Its very hard... I left it too late to buy a ready made ginger bread house so I've had to buy a make your own from scratch kit. It's hellish enough when all you have to do is glue the sides Sad

We just got our Christmas food shop in so the house is full of snacks but there's nothing to eat TODAY Hmm

I bought an gift for my mam a week ago in a regular navy size 10 but discovered it had a hole.

I returned it to the store but have misplaced the receipt (don't actually think I was even given one) but had my bank records showing I bought it so they offered me a 'like for like exchange' (exactly what I wanted anyway).

I couldn't see it on the shop floor so asked the assistant (who had to verify with 3 people AGAIN that I was allowed to swap it - so I followed her round while she retold the story they just heard to all the people who I had just spoke to).

She went out back and said they don't have navy blue left so I can choose from black or grey version (a little irritating but not a huge deal) so I choose black and they handed it to me and I left quickly as the shop was packed and I had a million more jobs to do.

I get home to discover they give me the right item but from the 'petit' range so a 10 is a lot shorter length wise yet somehow wider width wise.

I still don't have a receipt
I'm assuming it is sold out
I don't have time to return it again
I'm now missing a big gift for my mam
And now I have to store an item I have no bloody use for when I'm trying to declutter.

I know its not a big thing in the scheme of life but its just bugging me.

My DH big gift is MIA too... the tracking number is broken so wont track it.

The food shop definitely we'd ordered was cancelled 30 minutes after it was supposed to have been delivered, no reason given.

Tesco was out of smoked salmon pate so I bought smoked salmon and cream cheese canapes instead. It's not the same at all and is bugging me. I know it's probably a piece of piss to make smoked salmon pate but I'm still feeling grumpy about things. Xmas Wink

Just doing a quick check with DH of the gifts we got for DS. SOMEONE forgot to get the second lego set we'd agreed on and it's no longer available. There is no way on God's green earth I will be going anywhere near the lego store tomorrow. Now poor DS will only have one set to build which will last him til about 11am.

Oh iklboo that is just awful! Thank goodness it wasn't booked for the 24th though- could have been a complete disaster. Thanks Much sympathy your way Wine
