Toying with ideas... Have thought of beans on toast, but that doesn't sound so special Grin

Ideally something not incredibly complex Xmas Smile

Lindt balls.

MenaiMna · 19/12/2021 19:04

Smoked salmon and scrambled eggs on sourdough toast. Fruit salad. (& Bucks fizz). Makes you feel like you ate healthy at least once that day!

elQuintoConyo · 19/12/2021 19:06

Gingerbread man shaped pancakes in the gingerbread man shaped frying pan I got DS for Christmas about 4 years ago.

With a variety of toppings. Orange juice, and fancy coffee

DollyPartBaked · 19/12/2021 19:08

Chocolate croissants (frozen that you bake in the oven) and coffee. We have small kids who will be opening stockings so we don't sit down for breakfast.

MeatyRvita · 19/12/2021 19:10

Bacon sandwiches or homemade sausage McMuffins (frozen sausage patties, pop in the oven, toast some English muffins, put American cheese slice on top of sausages and assemble!)

HollyandIvyandAllThingsYule · 19/12/2021 19:14

It varies. But we usually do some variation of this:

Croissants (ready to bake - pop in the oven on the morning) and coffee, Buck’s Fizz or champagne/Prosecco/other sparkling wine, scrambled eggs and smoked salmon on German grain bread. We have a long, leisurely brunch and it’s a lovely start to the day. A slice of Pandoro with tea later in the day if anyone fancies it.

This year I’m going to make tebirkes (a Danish pastry topped with poppy seeds) so we’ll have those instead of shop-bought baked goods.

Selection boxes then maybe bacon toast later on.

Antiqueanniesmagiclanternshow · 19/12/2021 19:16

Croissants and bucks fizz

Hellocrumpets · 19/12/2021 19:17

Dry cereal, munched like popcorn while watching the kids open their presents. Too much of a busy day to faff about with anything else.

Bitofachinwag · 19/12/2021 19:17

Muesli

RobertsWonder · 19/12/2021 19:19

Toast and jam while opening presents. Normally had a big german style Christmas eve meal, and will have the traditional turkey with all trimmings in the afternoon, so I really don't want to have to prepare a huge fancy breakfast too!

Svara · 19/12/2021 19:20

Fry up. Bacon, eggs, tomato, mushrooms, avocado, sourdough.

midlifecrash · 19/12/2021 19:21

Scrambled or poached eggs with watercress

bellalou1234 · 19/12/2021 19:21

Badger

Chunkymenrock · 19/12/2021 19:22

Creamiest homemade porridge with cream, cinnamon and blueberries.

Bellafrenum · 19/12/2021 19:23

We are having posh marmalade on a nice sourdough toast with real butter and Christmas coffee. Kids have those selection pack cereals. A few nice fruit juices.

MaitlandGirl · 19/12/2021 19:23

Individual vanilla Bundt cakes made in a Christmas cake pan with either breakfast martinis or mimosas.

Redact · 19/12/2021 19:24

I did used to make Nigella's Christmas morning muffins. Would prepare everything the night before then mix and pop in the oven. For the past few years it's been panettone, OJ and coffee

Heartbeats0708 · 19/12/2021 19:25

@bellalou1234

Badger
😂 I really hope that's a typo for bacon.. or do you spend Christmas Eve prowling for roadkill?! Selection box with a side of chocolate coins for me and DC.
user1493494961 · 19/12/2021 19:27

I'll have shop-bought baked goods.

MrNapkinHead · 19/12/2021 19:29

Usually scrambled eggs, smoked salmon, croissants and coffee/juice/bubbly for DH. But looking at this thread for other ideas!

HollyandIvyandAllThingsYule · 19/12/2021 19:29

Ahahaha badger cooked in the local park...

Wowwellokthen · 19/12/2021 19:30

Smoked salmon, scrambled eggs, toast and champagne

RagzReturnedUnwrapped · 19/12/2021 19:31

DH and DS1+2 like smoked salmon and scrambled eggs on English muffins. I have bacon instead because salmon is gross. DD likes just toasted English muffins. Alternatively, decent croissants warmed with butter on.
Bucks fizz on the side.

AlwaysNapTime · 19/12/2021 19:31

Whatever chocolate we happen to unwrap first.
