Toying with ideas... Have thought of beans on toast, but that doesn't sound so special Grin

Ideally something not incredibly complex Xmas Smile

Scrambled eggs, salmon, croissants and cinnamon rolls, champagne and orange juice.

Squiff70 · 19/12/2021 20:49

Smoked bacon butties with a glass or two of bucks fizz - no fizz for me this year as I've just found out I'm pregnant so I'll substitute with orange juice/1

RestingStitchFace · 19/12/2021 20:49

A shit-load of sugary nonsense usually! And bacon butties.

Wondering1000 · 19/12/2021 20:51

So many ideas! A lot of smoked salmon, which I did consider but funny as it sounds I'm not too keen on fish and eggs! Even though I know it's a classic.

I'm now considering very creamy porridge with some special fresh berries and yogurt. Or a bacon sandwich Xmas Smile

Selection box! Grin haha. All our rules go out the window on Christmas Day,no structure,no room to even sit down and eat as there's presents and mess everywhere what with having children.

Stopsnowing · 19/12/2021 21:00

I would love eggs benedict but i can’t poach eggs. Will probably do croissants. We love smoked salmon and blinis but tend to have that as starters for lunch

bellsbuss · 19/12/2021 21:01

Smoked salmon and scrambled eggs for some and bacon sandwiches for others washed down with Buck's Fizz.

MrNapkinHead · 19/12/2021 21:08

@SnickettyLemon

As a family we have Garlic Pork. It is a traditional breakfast on Christmas morning in some parts of the Caribbean, although it originated in Portugal . It is a lot nicer than it sounds.Grin
Are you Guyanese? I love Garlic pork 😋
XiCi · 19/12/2021 21:12

Beans on toast? 😱😱😱
We're usually rushing after present opening to start family visiting so it's something quick like bacon rolls or pain aux raisin.

SomethingOnce · 19/12/2021 21:16

Smoked salmon and cream cheese bagels; orange juice for DC, prosecco followed by a lie-down for Mummy (frees up kitchen space for DP to crack on with lunch prep).

Ragwort · 19/12/2021 21:18

Can't imagine enjoying porridge on Christmas Day - each to their own! My choice would be bagels with smoked salmon & cream cheese - Bucks Fizz to drink.

kitkatsky · 19/12/2021 21:22

Toast and pate. I was pregnant last Christmas so can't wait for this year!

Punkyfish3000 · 19/12/2021 21:32

Marzipan and cranberry muffins, or croissants/pains au chocolat. Served with OJ and tea/coffee. My husband is wanting a full English as well though

GettingStuffed · 19/12/2021 21:38

Mince pies during present opening, then scrambled eggs with smoked salmon/ bacon and bucks fizz or components thereof.

Goldbar · 19/12/2021 21:40

This year DH is in charge of Christmas breakfast. He has been told that DC requires 3 separate pancakes alternatively styled as Santa, a Christmas tree and a snowman with bacon, bananas, strawberries and whipped cream. When he asked suspiciously whether I had done this for DC last year, I pretended to be hurt that he couldn't remember Wink.

I will have scrambled eggs and smoked salmon.

me4real · 19/12/2021 22:03

This year 5yo ds has requested pain au chocolates

@shouldistop 'Oh mummy, please may I have pain au chocolat?' Really?

I mean I love pain au chocolat I just can't imagine a kid saying it. Smile Let alone fruit salad. Did you give them a choice from a few options?

Kshhuxnxk · 19/12/2021 22:05

Hot tea with toasted and buttered (real butter) rolls filled with scrambled egg with some cheese through it. Nice and easy, warm and comforting. No alcohol in our house until Christmas evening.

FindingMeno · 19/12/2021 22:06

3 coffees and 3 fags.
Everyone else can sort themselves out.

me4real · 19/12/2021 22:07

You lot are so posh.

I'll probably have a normal breakfast of Greek yogurt and fruit (am on a health kick) and then there'll probably be chocolates to pick at later. Maybe I should have prosecco Confused I'dve thought that just leaves you knackered for the day.

Blueuggboots · 19/12/2021 22:07

Pork pie slathered in mustard thinly sliced on hot buttered toast.

claireymrsd · 19/12/2021 22:08

Chocolate biscuits! Neither healthy or nutritious but it's become tradition!

Mommybunny · 19/12/2021 22:13

Haven’t really thought about it but I will probably do American pancakes with maple syrup and fried eggs for DS16 and DH. Prosecco sounds lovely but I don’t want to be hammered for preparing lunch.

sleepyhoglet · 19/12/2021 22:14

I want it all!

greenlynx · 19/12/2021 22:14

We usually do creamy porridge with fruits or berries, coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice.
I like @Chunkymenrock’s combo of cinnamon and blueberries, will do it this year.

MagratsDanglyCharms21 · 19/12/2021 22:17

Another one for pork pie here with mustard so strong that your eyes leak!
