Any ideas? I'm not meant to know about the non-conformity but am avoiding all girly things. If no ideas forthcoming I will get books, but just in case anyone has a flash of brilliance...

As non gender confirming actually usually means rejecting female stereotypes and embracing male ones even if not intentional then a game, baggy clothing, trainers? Or ask what she would like and buy that?

ElizabethinherGermanGarden · 11/12/2021 14:47

Gift is all sorted now, thank you.

Young driver driving lesson?

Sorry didn't see your last post!!

Eeeeeps · 11/12/2021 14:49

Glad you found something, could I ask wish sweatshirt you went for? Looking for inspiration!

ASushiBitMyFinger · 11/12/2021 14:50

Baggy clothes? Baggy clothes are super trendy this year. Trainers? Never has a non 'gender-non conforming' girl worn trainers.

A game? We all know, females do not enjoy games. No, girls love makeup, perfumes, frilly and tight clothes and spend all day long watching video clips to educate themselves on makeup, perfumes, frilly and tight clothes, unless they are gender non-conforming. Grin Grin

That's my point, my post was sarcy because its an odd notion.
TheMuggleStruggle · 11/12/2021 14:54

How ridiculous.

Eeeeeps · 11/12/2021 14:55

Thanks OP, that’s lovely, I’m sure they’ll love it

Lovemusic33 · 11/12/2021 14:56

I have got dd a oodie, a lava lamp, Amazon fire stick and pokemon merch. Dd isn’t girly (identifies as pansexual). The one thing I struggle to find is non gendered toiletries 🤔, Superdrug used to do “pride lynx” but all other smellies seem to be very masculine or very feminine. I have spent a fortune on the lush bubble bar she likes (CBD one) but can’t find much else.

FabriqueBelgique · 11/12/2021 14:59

H&M has a “divided” range which has some cool stuff. T

@GingerAndTheBiscuits

Nothing either of my kids are getting for Christmas is gendered. Unless they’re operating it with their genitalia, I’m not sure there’s any such thing. What is the young person into? Just buy things that relate to their interests.
This!!!

I simply don’t understand that. Go for what kind of smells they like - vetiver, amber, musk, floral, citrus, etc. There are loads of options, many in very plain and minimalist glass bottles in case the recipient has traditional ideas about ‘pink, fluffy=for girls, blue, tough=for boys.

What sort of smellies and how fancy are you thinking? This is definitely an area where recommendations could help!

For affordable skincare stuff - The Ordinary, The Inkey List, Cerave

Affordable bath/body - Faith in Nature, Rituals

High-end gender neutral brands - Le Labo, Malin + Goetz

Lovemusic33 · 11/12/2021 15:53

Innocenta
Desperately looking for skin care, dd has no interest in skin care, mainly because it’s considered ‘girly’ and partly because she’s too lazy to use it.
Thank you for the suggestions, I will take a look 😊

Himalayan salt lamp, room diffuser, chocolates, M&S unisex Eau de Toilette (09 is my favourite), nice blanket for their room or scarf, Lush do some lovely non-gender specific products including their perfumes. And they're a great brand to support :)

WouldBeGood · 11/12/2021 16:24

A hoodie.

A cool notebook/sketchbook

Fancy pens for art, like these pen set

Deodorant spray from a neutral brand like rituals.

Auntpodder · 11/12/2021 16:27

Depending on colouring - this could be suitable... I've got hair chalk for the non-gendered teen on my list... www.ebay.co.uk/itm/264859984245?chn=ps&mkevt=1&mkcid=28

Shedmistress · 11/12/2021 16:30

So basically just buy them some stuff that they might like.

Like every other teen but more special.

Sarcasm?

LovelyLupins · 11/12/2021 17:18

A hoody or trousers from H&M boys section, anything dinosaur themed, powerbank, fine liners, non binary flag or bracelet etc are all things that my ‘enby’ daughter would like.

Hesma · 11/12/2021 17:30

A trilby, snuggly PJs, oversized hoodie,

Blossom64265 · 11/12/2021 18:10

Op, glad to see you found something. My teen is very much a girl because she recognizes biological reality, but she firmly rejects all things “girly”. She would be really upset to be given makeup, jewelry, or any of the other stereotypical gifts that get listed for female teens this time of year.

To all, For skin care, the best choices have the fewest unnecessary ingredients anyway. Cerave is a really good, not astronomically priced brand and not marketed towards either sex.

Winecrispschocolatecats · 11/12/2021 18:25

@Bitofachinwag

But surely if they're non-binary "girl gifts" and "boy gifts" should both be fine?
Many non-binary people don't switch between feeling male or female, they simply don't identify with either. Giving a gendered item (whether aimed at girls or boys) to my NB kid would be like serving turkey to a vegan.
