Fairytale of New York on the radio. I'm not sure how that's going to work this year, it used to be the radio in work but I don't have it on working from home because DH is too grumpy.

All three of those give me actual chills and excited butterflies the first time I hear them each December.

The smell of the Christmas tree when we bring it home always turns the festive up a notch.

The smell of rashers frying and onions being chopped for stuffing used to do it too, Christmas morning was the only day of the year when we smelled that particular combo as kids. But I make my stuffing in advance, and breakfast is cinnamony carbs of some sort.

I’ve visited my home town and been to see the local house that puts on the most amazing Christmas display. There’s something about it that gives me that little thrill of excitement that reminds me of Christmas as a child.

Also, not until I have had my first mulled wine or spiced cider.

Today is the start of Christmas for me. This evening I walked into the living room to my eldest reading a book by the Christmas tree, I always sneak a photo of that as I know it will be a fond memory when she grows up and leaves home

Sunday! DD (10) wants to watch 'grounded'. She knows I watch it every year. I won't let her watch it because it reveals the truth about Santa. Now, I know she only believes to keep me happy, but I'm happy with the facade :-) So, I will watch 'Grounded' on Sunday while she's with her dad. We'll put up decorations on Sunday and leave the tree until the 1st.

Until DD's birthday in mid December is over.
