@Reastie I've started the new thread can you add your standard wonderful information?

@lancslass17 have you already got a credit account with Very? If not they do a decent new customer deal that'll knock a bit off. I opened my account with them last year purely to benefit from it, but paid it off immediately. I'll probably get DH to do the same this year if I spot anything that the DC's need.

Any recommendations for coffee beans, ideally I'd like samples of different flavours for around £10 total but that might be an ask 😂

Yes, I checked out the Tynemouth company recommended and it was pricey. The PaddyandScott box last year was brilliant. I'm looking for something similar if anyone has ideas.

@NightOwl19

Can anyone recommend a beginner guitar for a 9 year old? I've googled and they all are different sizes, strings and seem complicated. She's never played before but has been asking for a long time
I have bought this 3/4 one for daughter for Xmas. She is 9 next month and never played a guitar before.

It was on special for 40 when I bought it so went up in price. But Currys have the blue for £38.49.

Picked classical as easy learn play and not to expensive if it ends up gathering dust. Comes with bag, extra strings and tuner and 6 months app to learn guitar.

Also got her this book which seemed good.

@Picklesbaby Sorry I'm under the baby at the moment so can't put the links here but here's a link to the deal with links in, HTHs

Amazon 2 for £20 Alcohol

Beakerandbungle · 23/10/2021 06:49

Just to note that anyone wanting stuff from Boden it might be worth waiting until next week - it looks like they are doing a number of discounts ( starting at 25% on 24th I think then dropping each couple of days).

Also - and apologies I’ve searched the threads and failed - a while ago someone mentioned a company that made Christmas tree decorations. If anyone can remember I’d be very grateful!

SpamIAm · 23/10/2021 06:51

@PinkDaydreams @Dreamingofwalden Lidl wooden toys were end of October last year apparently. They're not next week but I'm hoping for the week after 🤞🤞

In 2019 some people bought the Cox and Cox tree train, how has it been?

JanuaryEl5ieBill · 23/10/2021 07:27

@Namechangesagain thank you for the battery powered train link! My two (and DH) argue over the one we have but I hadn't found a cheap enough one to justify a second.

Try Stork and Cradle for decorations. I have been using them every Christmas for over 25 years!! So lovely and very helpful. You can have your decorations personalised and I always put the year on as well. Free postage as well.

@Opal8

Any tips for anime art stuff? Or decent art stuff generally
Look at Arteza for alcohol markers, they have a pack or manga colours. Also clairfontaine manga layout pads and frisk marker paper from Amazon
MsMiaWallace · 23/10/2021 07:35

It's easy to convert your Nectar points through the Nectar app.
It has a 'spend points' link at the top. Then you can choose who to spend it with.

NoWordForFluffy · 23/10/2021 07:42

I had a massive faff getting my points converted on eBay as the Safari / eBay combination was being a dick. Downloading Opera sorted it though (if I'd Googled straight away it wouldn't have been as faffy as I wasted lots of time trying over and over).

MardyNun · 23/10/2021 07:43

@SpottyBumPony I purchased 2, one for us and one for DM. They’re cute! I like putting it on when we first get the tree out. But you do need quite a lot of room around the feet of your tree as the track is quite wide I think. Also it makes a noise (I think it’s like the sound of the steam horn being pulled) which can be switched off so after a while
I always switch the train off. They’re cute and I only paid about a tenner each I think because of the code they used to do but I wouldn’t rush out to buy another

VikingNorthUtsire · 23/10/2021 07:46

@lancslass17 Sportshoes.com are a legit company, I have bought from them a few times.

Thank you to whoever posted about the Fossil 20% off yesterday. I missed it last time but just got a lovely £69 wallet reduced to £27.

Beakerandbungle · 23/10/2021 07:50

@Maharajah20 - thank you - that was what I was looking for!

lifelongfrugaleer · 23/10/2021 08:10

@WhyDoesItAlways think it was you I’ve searched grumm and can’t find either of those deals. Please can you do more specific Halloween and wonki links

17caterpillars1mouse · 23/10/2021 08:12

Has anybody noticed if the usborne jigsaw and book set have reduced to £5 like last year yet? I was thinking about them this morning and hoping they do again as we got the zoo one last year and it's been very well loved so hoping to get another one, but wondering if I've missed them?

Bezzi · 23/10/2021 08:13

@WaitWhatOh thank you for your post.
I love these threads, haven't been here for years and years so I guess I'm a 'newbie'

@NightOwl19 I would really recommend you going to a local music/guitar shop of you have one? My son had one and ours were lovely, fitted it to his size and were very kind with him. We definitely would have bought the wrong size if we'd bought it online.
