Thanks @bizzey for the title, which tickled me! The day of the triffids? Nope, it’s the day of the cardboard boxes!

If you’re posting anything specifically for me please do @ me or I may not spot it. It’s helpful if when sharing bargain info you bold it to make it easy for people to differentiate between chat and bargain links.

Second message has a few links and info which I’ll slowly build up, let me know if there’s anything you’d like me to add to it Thanks

Kind of but you don't have to use the credit bit. There's no charges or anything 👍
MeredithGreyishblue · 18/10/2021 21:15

@UrbanMage

Not very Christmassy but I’ve just done a big order on snag tights as its 25% off order of 10 pairs of tights and its 9.1% cashback on TCB. It might help someone Hmm
Just watch Snag - if you want anything quickly. There's at least a week delay due to a warehouse technical fault but they dont tell you that when you order - they still say despatch same or next day. Mine took 2 weeks to arrive. No communication until I chased them.
ItsAllBlahBlahBlah · 18/10/2021 21:19

Would really appreciate it if you could shout if you see any Ben 10 bits on the cheap. My DS1 seems to be zooming through new programme obsessions atm. Much easier when it was all about paw patrol!

I saw some bits on Very earlier. They've also got a £30 off £60 spend promo running for new customers
wavingwhilstdrowning · 18/10/2021 21:36

Thanks for the bargaintastic sock shop codes!! Brilliant!

I'm after size 6 Air Force 1s in white. I need the biggest size in the older kids range for affordability. Please can anyone let me know if they see them. Thank you Smile

UrbanMage · 18/10/2021 21:39

@MeredithGreyishblue thanks for the heads up. I’m on 2 weeks half term, so its nowt but hoodies and leggings for me! Hurrah!

Also, if anyone has any tips for anyone trying to quit teaching… let me know. 14 years and I’m just having a huge crisis of faith. (Not Christmassy at all. Bah humbug)

2lostsouls · 18/10/2021 21:40

@UrbanMage have you tried a different school? Can make a huge difference.

Yeah, I moved school in September 2020, after being in the same school for 9 years. I like the kids, but there’s just a horrible feeling about some aspects of the place. I’m just losing faith with it all tbh. So much scrutiny and it is not doing my MH any good.

Redwinestillfine · 18/10/2021 21:53

Thanks for the Celtic and co code, got wool wash and insoles to extend the life of my much-worn but still fabulous slipper boots for £14.95 including delivery.

CamdenLurker · 18/10/2021 21:55

@dizzygirl1

Yet another ask sorry... I'm looking to buy an xbox... any deals anyone knows of? Pretty please
Which one are you looking for? Series S or X?
Tinysnickers · 18/10/2021 22:00

@penguinbeaver I use Amphora Aromatics and have always found them reasonably priced and good quality. They also have some lovely scented candles, the Marzipan and Candied Peel one is my favourite.
You can sometimes buy them in shops but I've also ordered from their website and delivery was fairly swift.

Smileatthesmallthings · 18/10/2021 22:01

@UrbanMage sorry you're feeling like that. 12 years of being a TA in the same school here and I can understand where you're coming from. I wouldn't be a teacher, at all. I love my actual job but all the stuff surrounding it gets me so frustrated.
Remember, these last couple of years have not been easy on anyone, and teaching has been really bloody hard. Everyone is feeling the pressure to catch up and get things back to normal but it's not going to happen overnight. You need to take these 2 weeks and have some serious downtime. Time with your family, time on your own doing things you enjoy and time where you definitely don't think of work. Get yourself recharged so you can go back in felling positive, and if you still feel shit a couple of weeks into the next term you may need to bring things up with someone who can support you from your leadership team.

I know that's all a bit airy fairy, but I didn't want to scroll past and ignore your feelings xx

UrbanMage · 18/10/2021 22:05

Thanks @Smileatthesmallthings. Yeah I’m weighing up what I want to do. DD has persuaded (aka I’ve been bullied by a 6 year old…) me into writing her a story book this week whilst she is at school (ha! She only get 1 week half term!), so that’s giving me joy atm. Much more fun than marking Year 11 mocks…

PhantomErik · 18/10/2021 22:05

ItsAllBlahBlahBlah lots of Ben 10 clothes/pyjamas on Character if that's any help?

nicky2512 · 18/10/2021 22:07

Thanks for the W H Smith codes. Got lots of presents including jigsaws which if you go for their own brand are buy 1 get 1 half price, then 25% off, then the 10% worked too. Brilliant!

UrbanMage · 18/10/2021 22:07

Anyway, enough wallowing… back to the bargains…. (Also, if anyone has a 6 year old obsessed with magic and cats, and wants to read my terrible book that I’ve completed 2 chapters of, then PM me!)

decafforme · 18/10/2021 22:10

Does anyone have any codes for Waterstones? Or alternatively seen the gruffalo sounds book on offer anywhere?

Unfortunately not on WHSmith website to use the codes posted here.

Thatsnotmine · 18/10/2021 22:13

Hi does anyone have a lisa angel discount code?

DoofusRick · 18/10/2021 22:23

does anyone have a jacamo discount code?

Puffalicious · 18/10/2021 22:26

UrbanMage can you move to Scotland? I'm 26 years in the same school and still want to be there - that's a win! We seem to escape much of the tiresome, constant scrutiny that you guys get down south.

We only have 1 week half term and it's over! Try to totally switch off, you need it.

Remember how much good you're doing for the kids. I ignore the politics, it's great. I also have a great head teacher- makes a big difference.

uggpug · 18/10/2021 22:29

@ItsAllBlahBlahBlah saw Ben 10 toys £5.99 in Home Bargains down from £19.99, not sure what they were though!

Reposting Celtic and Co discount from end of last thread, not sure if it would stack with the other offer? 15% off and free deliver AW21BH
