After a crappy, stressful year (ttc with no succes, a lot of blood tests, a lot of work, a lot of stress) DH and I are making our Christmas lists. I've finished everyone's presents, but my list is pretty much empty (an electric blanket & a couple of books)

Any ideas? What would you like to get for Christmas?

Please inspire me, fellow mumsnetters

A new purse.

@groundcontroltomajormum

A stable home for my family. We are facing homelessness. I'm Not bothered with presents.
I hope things work out for you.

I hope you get something soon. I had a friend in a similar situation 2 years ago when the house she was renting got sold (the landlady passed away and the house was passed to family who wanted it sold out they could split the money) The local council did house her eventually but it's a horrible predicament to be in xxx

@languagelover96

Books Toys Tarot cards Magazines Electric blanket A couple of plants Old fashioned tea cups
My art teacher ‘Fergus Hall’ painted the tarot cards used in the James bondfilm live and let die - they are amazing! - totally useless information for you 🤣🤣

I'm the opposite of everyone saying a new purse.

I desperately need to sell loads of shoes, bags, jeans, coats, ect... lol

Other people buy bags for me every year and they are never my taste (hence dozens of unused ones).

Heathcliff27 · 17/10/2021 15:59

I'm not so fussed about "things" this year although I'm always happy to get lovely bath stuff and gin.

But.... i changed jobs this year and I now work for a company who closes their doors on the 23rd December and reopens on 4th January so now for the first time in 32 years since I started working at age 16 I will be off work for the entire Christmas period.

That to me is the best gift in the world.

MeredithMae · 17/10/2021 16:27

Fully recommend the Lego flowers- they're incredible!

I'd like a 'my name' necklace from Tatty Devine. Pretty sure DW will get it for me as I mentioned it a while ago and she's great with hints like that!

A leather jacket

Jo malone perfume

New running trainers

Cashmere socks and scarf

White converse

ShortColdandGrey · 17/10/2021 16:46

I would like some new boots and a box of posh chocolates. I have also seen a ring on Etsy that I really like and my DH got me to check my ring size. So I am hoping that means he has got my not so subtle hints Smile

What's your favorite Jo Malone perfume? Looking for new scents. I love english pear&fresia, wore it on my wedding day, but I don't find it suitable for late autumn/winter 😪

Ohhhh I kept doing this since last year. I've sold a shitload of clothes, bags, shoes. It's so exciting, not only that I get some £, but I massively decluttered. I have this plan for October & November to bin/sell one item a day. Since I've been doing this, I've realised how much crap I bought and I pay much more attention these days. Regarding gifts, I always donate or gift them to someone else, I don't see the point in keeping them.

Ohhh I remember when I got my current job and they do the same! It's amazing, isn't it? Especially that I have a late December birthday too!

Honestly can't think of anything for this year but in previous years DH has bought me a year's worth of pedicures and another year it was a year's worth of haircuts. This is when we ran a 7 day week business together so he was actually buying me some me-time. I couldn't have loved him more!

pinkksugarmouse · 17/10/2021 18:55

Some big plump cushions. I have Rheumatoid arthritis and keep bringing a pillow downstairs as the solitary cushion I have isn’t enough. A nice body supportive pillow on the bed would be nice too. Recommendations welcome but not feathers.
I got a sleekster box from hotel chocolat last year as they now have a vegan box and I am 99% sure I will get a box this year too.

Hawkins001 · 17/10/2021 19:37
