Standing in for @Reastie as thread 10 was filling up quickly...

To do click links you do this put link in here then a space then the name or phrase you want to go with the link . Don’t put a space between the start of the link or the last word next to the like I have or it won’t work but I had to to demonstrate.

Some top tips from thelegohooverer:

My tips are:
check out companies on trustpilot before ordering
be wary of companies that only have email/contact firms for customer services and no phone numbers or addresses (unless of course you enjoy meaningless replies from bots)
keep a list of what you’ve ordered so you can follow up if something doesn’t arrive. Sometimes it’s a numbers game where they’re betting on people not following up on missing orders.
check where things are shipped from, particularly if you need them quickly. I’ve got caught out waiting for the slow boat from China when I thought I was ordering locally.
I’ve started using Revolut to avoid putting in my main bank details (and it helps me budget)

Aliexpress have lots of stuff very cheap, order early as it’s all delivered from Chinahere. Be aware some items are a bit knock off in quality and safety, check reviews and be aware. Clothes can come up v small and take the photos with a pinch of salt as a guide for what you will receive.

Thanks for the Bicester Village tip @OneMorePieceofCheese - on the website it seems to suggest you can get an extra 20% or 30% off some stores during October by signing up to the membership which I think is free. I may try to drag DP there next weekend and drop some heavy hints about Monica Vinader and Le Creuset Grin

Ruralretreating · 09/10/2021 12:09

I can’t link to it but £10 on Amazon (1/2 price) is LEGO Super Mario - Chain Chomp Jungle Encounter (71381)

Redken24 · 09/10/2021 12:14

What was the name of the five pound Christmas tees? Lovely t shirts I think I missed them. Personalized ones.Threads going so fast! Xx

GirlWithTheYellowHat · 09/10/2021 12:19

@Redken24 Rocket & Rose?

Puffalicious · 09/10/2021 12:19
@puffalicious, my ds is a couple of years older, but sounds similar to yours. A couple of Christmases ago he got an apple watch as his main present, and whatever the latest Paco Rabanne aftershave was (invictus I think) plus nice grooming stuff and a lovely washbag for aftershave match showers, and new rugby boots....a teenage boy can never have too many pairs of the "latest" ones it seems! He's also enjoyed full gym membership, one of those battery powered blender things to whizz up protein shakes, and a hamper of the various flavours these last couple of years.
Great suggestions. He has loads of aftershave he doesn't use! His brother, 17, uses it all as well as his own Grin. But new, latest rugby boots is a great shout- he needs 2 different sets for hard and soft ground- and I could couch the gym membership as a pressie (can only join at 15 here, his brother is a member too). He won't be into the drinks but his brother definitely will appreciate more flavours so that's going on his list for sure.
@Puffalicious Oddballs do nice underwear/socks/pjs rugby themed - maybe something like this? My husband loves their stuff
Excellent. I'm checking this out for sure. Thanks.

Puffalicious · 09/10/2021 12:23

jumpingintochrismas that might be just what I'm looking for. Thanks.

Puffalicious · 09/10/2021 12:24

My M&S Sparks offers include 20% off kids' PJs and jumpers this week. In case anyone's not checked theirs in a while.

Redken24 · 09/10/2021 12:36

Thanks @GirlWithTheYellowHat

Ourlady · 09/10/2021 12:51

@WhereTheresAHill I would really appreciate the 20% off Lakeland voucher if it is still available?

Ewock · 09/10/2021 12:53
@1stTimeMama, it's this one.

Bearing in mind they're rarely discounted, we thought it was a good deal. You add the discount code at checkout.
Can I ask how you link your nectar points? We have a few and my ds would love an extra set of you cons for some of his games.

Christmasmcchristmasface · 09/10/2021 13:03

@doctorboo

Could I quickly ask, what’s the sizing like for Tokyo Laundry? Is a medium like a m&s, for example?
@doctorboo yes I would say they come up pretty standard and have just checked t shirts against M&S one and they are v similar
NoWordForFluffy · 09/10/2021 13:03

It was a sodding palaver, Ewock!

It didn't work on Safari, so I had to download Opera, then go to this page to link it.

It took me bloody ages! Xmas Hmm

nicky2512 · 09/10/2021 13:09

Gutted! Got dh to take me to two Primarks today which is a big deal as I’m not in the best health and I don’t real life shop that much anymore. I wanted a men’s snuddie for ds. Preferably pizza but would have settled for marvel - none at all!! Apparently sold within hours of coming through door.
Does anyone know anywhere else online selling similar (not plain)? I wouldn’t mind buying him a real one but Dd has one and I know it would be far too warm for him. Thanks.

Marypoppinsisnosaint · 09/10/2021 13:10

Hey everyone,

I seem to have missed the last two threads 😲😲

Anyways my sil has finally come back to me with a list for my niece and nephew. Nephew would like the Playmobil Ghostbusters 9220 set. It's currently at £39.99 I'm happy to get it him regardless however I do love a bargain if anyone spots anything.

Thanks

Thank you so much @Christmasmcchristmasface!

ZIGGY911 · 09/10/2021 13:14

Hi

I'm after a board game for Christmas. Last year we had Ticket To Ride and was a massive hit. We have 2 teenage kids to appeal to. Thanks so much

lolarabbit · 09/10/2021 13:24

@ZIGGY911
Splendour is current favourite in our (all adult) household.
Looks like it might be reduced on Amazon just now but haven't checked against other sellers.

Thank you that one looks good. Very hard to beat ticket to ride but will give it a go.

JanuaryEl5ieBill · 09/10/2021 13:32

@katemuff and anyone else who has ordered Lovato candles before - is it worth the extra for the ones in the nice boxes or are the regular votives decent for gifts?

I didn't order cos of the difference in price for a nice box and kind of wish I had! Couldn't work out if the boxed ones were also bigger.

Someaddedsugar · 09/10/2021 13:33

@nicky2512 I’ll be going to Newcastle Primark next Friday and can have a look and post on if that would help?
