Standing in for @Reastie as thread 10 was filling up quickly...

To do click links you do this put link in here then a space then the name or phrase you want to go with the link . Don’t put a space between the start of the link or the last word next to the like I have or it won’t work but I had to to demonstrate.

Some top tips from thelegohooverer:

My tips are:
check out companies on trustpilot before ordering
be wary of companies that only have email/contact firms for customer services and no phone numbers or addresses (unless of course you enjoy meaningless replies from bots)
keep a list of what you’ve ordered so you can follow up if something doesn’t arrive. Sometimes it’s a numbers game where they’re betting on people not following up on missing orders.
check where things are shipped from, particularly if you need them quickly. I’ve got caught out waiting for the slow boat from China when I thought I was ordering locally.
I’ve started using Revolut to avoid putting in my main bank details (and it helps me budget)

Aliexpress have lots of stuff very cheap, order early as it’s all delivered from Chinahere. Be aware some items are a bit knock off in quality and safety, check reviews and be aware. Clothes can come up v small and take the photos with a pinch of salt as a guide for what you will receive.

@delahot check out glowbeanie. They are a little Welsh company who make bright bobble hats. Particularly great as they have a Fluorescent strand in the wool so their bobble hats can be seen in the dark by cars. They do children sizes. Mine doesn't have a multicoloured bobble but I'm sure some did

@DoucheCanoe

Bit random but my 15yo insists on hugging a pillow at night (he is Autistic but I'm not sure if it's a comfort thing or just a quirk...), would it be weird to get one of those big pregnancy pillows and does anyone have any recommendations? Preferably with a cover and not too pricey.
Shhhhh I still use my pregnancy pillow and my eldest is 13 now. I will never give it up! It was from Dunelm, covers sold separately.
MyPatronusIsAPenguin · 09/10/2021 22:42

Does anyone have a photo of the Primark Sloth hoodie/oodie/thingamy please? Need to work out if it's worth a trip for my niece x

Trudee · 09/10/2021 22:43

@Delahot something like this: rainbow bobble hat

Jedstre · 09/10/2021 22:47
@Jedstre snowglobe orange and gingerbread gin is about £13 in the warehouse (more on the website).
I always buy a case of Villa Maria white wine as cheaper than in supermarkets.
Sometimes they have amazing ladies pjs but don’t they they have them in at the minute (i have three sets Blush).
They have some nice gifts sets at the minute, if you are into this kind of thing (i.e. waffle making kit, pizza making kit…)
They have 2kg tins of roses for under £14
And these truffles are divine.
Oh, and the tiramisu kits.
There is probably more but all i can think of at the minute.
Thanks@PoirotAndHisMoustache that’s a great listSmile. I love tiramisu so I’ll definitely look out for those kits and maybe a waffle making kit for the kids. If anyone else has recommendations for Costco, that would be great

@bizzey

Weather in Pennsylvania in January is likely to be cold (but probably the positive side of freezing) and quite possibly snowy, so warm stuff definitely required I would say!

MardyNun · 09/10/2021 22:56

To the PP who was looking for the W at b&m (sorry tried scrolling back but can’t find you), I’m sure I read on the b&m sack support thread that a poster rang b & m and they confirmed they don’t do W’s, along with X and Q’s. Hope I’m
Wrong but that’s that a ppw said

MardyNun · 09/10/2021 22:56

I’ve hit a lull. So disappointed that I didn’t get my Holland and Barrett boxes. Stuck on what to put in dd (aged 276 months at Xmas 😉) stocking

SharonMack17 · 09/10/2021 23:08

@NotAdultingToday

I went to my local Primark today in chelmsford to look for the snuddie and i was very sad to find they had no Snoopy ones 🙁

I was tempted by the Winnie the Poo and black with white swirls ones but my heart is set on Snoopy. Is it acceptable to go to many Primarks in Essex as it takes to get one? 😂

The ones i saw were £14 and very thick and soft if that helps anyone

I'd really love a Snoopy one too; there's something about Snoopy (and I do realise it means I haven't really grown up!)

re: Pom Pom hats .....

....not a bargain but a great idea....Outside In do really lovely pom pom hats in all sorts of colours, good quality, for £16 - £22 and for every item you buy they donate an item to someone who is homeless.

@Jedstre, Costco have the Bonne Maman jam advent calendars for £20 (inc. VAT), large chocolate panettone in a nice tin, gin liqueur baubles, and nice Cath Kidston toiletry sets. They also have lovely Christmas decorations, but some are quite expensive.

Famousthehero · 10/10/2021 00:03

A reminder that the Rex London sale has all the usual stuff which might be worth a mooch for stockings or small gifts (eg various bamboo travel mugs for £2)
Not bargains, but I’ve just had a quick look at their Christmas section which I think has some nice stocking fillers, I liked

magnet hair game £3

foam ball catapult £3

music box £7

beetles tattoos £1.50

rear view spy glasses £4

But there are loads of gorgeous things I think. Including a section for stocking fillers for her which could give you some ideas @QOD, although I personally prefer the ones aimed at children…

bizzey · 10/10/2021 00:03

Interesting about the Amazon diamond art set.
I got one at full price .
Still not showing up with the 50%discount when I log into Amazon.
I have the tree one if anyone wants a photo .

bizzey · 10/10/2021 00:04

Was going to return it and try again...
But can I be bothered to go to the post office ?

bizzey · 10/10/2021 00:06

bizzey · 10/10/2021 00:08
