Oh no. But at least it died before it had been transformed into the Christmas fridge!

I don't even like to admit how much I use eBay. My failure % is probably less than 0.3%. The trick is to buy from people with a high number of a high percentage of good feedback.

My sore throat won't bog off. And I had visual disturbance after lunch. It went with paracetamol / codeine, thankfully. Just feel a bit groggy now.

If Amazon stops accepting Visa it'd certainly make my bank account significantly healthier.

DH needs to go back up the loft...I've got no gift tags in the wrapping bag! (such poor organisation by HeyUp [fhmmm])

PussyCatEatingPigsInBlankets · 17/11/2021 18:04

fluffy If I ever want something from eBay, I'll run it past you first and hope you don't want it too Xmas Grin
Crazy I remember when my mums freezer died...she went around the neighbours offering them food...everyone ate well that night.
Heyup theoretically I could open a current acc and only put enough in to cover my amazon purchase...but why should my life be harder to make a rich prick richer? Anything else in the loft while he's up there? And maybe Santa needs to bring him a head torch for his "lofting" 🕯

You know I've had the thread lurgy? Well despite being double-vacc'd, I have tested positive for Covid. I just feel as if I have a bad cold (which is taking longer than usual to shift). I am now isolating and working from home but hopefully can do some wrapping, sorting and card writing.

ConstantlyCooking · 17/11/2021 19:22

I also decided that I was maybe allowed a few mini Florentines as a treat!

TheWoollybacksWife · 17/11/2021 19:28

Constantly I hope you recover quickly. Florentines are vital to keep testing your sense of taste.

ConstantlyCooking · 17/11/2021 20:09

Good point woollyback! As well as comparing quality of Lidl v M&S!

CrazyBaubles · 17/11/2021 20:26

How are you feeling now Fluffy?

No gift tags HeyUp? You mean you don't have some made from last years Christmas cards stored somewhere you can access easily? Xmas Shock

Constantly I hope your symptoms go away soon. And agree with Woolly, it's only sensible now to have some tasty Christmas food on hand so you can test your senses regularly 😂

Hopefully the new fridge will be here by Friday and until then we've got a plug in cool box going.

I'm banging my head against a brick wall trying to think of a Christmas present for my 11 yo nephew 🤯 He doesn't want anything, apparently nothing interests him and everything is boring - Help!

NoWordForFluffy · 17/11/2021 20:38

I'm OK, Crazy. Painkillers ASAP did the usual getting rid trick. Bit tired though. At least it didn't last, as I was trying to review medical records whilst blind in one eye. 🙈🤣

Sorry you're still feeling crap. Which FF have you plumped for?

OP posts:
NoWordForFluffy · 17/11/2021 20:39

Constantly, do you still have your sense of taste? Don't waste calories if you can't taste stuff! I hope you're better soon.

Crazy what sort of budget? Does he game? Xbox or PS points as a gift voucher. H&M have lovely cotton onesies (so many this year seem to be fleece 🥵) eBay have currently got 20% off Lego according to an email I got this morning. Has he got a phone? Funky phone case, maybe?

CrazyBaubles · 17/11/2021 20:58

Fluffy we went for this one - we were a bit limited because of the gap it goes in which isn't very wide.

You have my sympathy about the vision issue - I remember more than once when a migraine got me in work, trying to decipher engineering reports and policy docs by moving the page around the screen because the edges were wavy and I couldn't move my head 🙄

Some amazing choices there Woolly thank you! He's got a PlayStation and a phone so could definitely look at gift card and / or phone case.
He's never really done lego and I'm not sure about a onesie for him, but you may have solved another problem for me with that idea.
As part of the charity santa scheme I'm doing, I've been assigned a child with some physical issues to buy for and part of the info says she wears onesie pjs but she's 4 and not many places do them for that age (and the ones I have doing are fleece so she would cook in them) so I'll look on H&M now...

Crazy these are sweet.

NoWordForFluffy · 17/11/2021 21:17

We have a Samsung FF. It's really good if a bit shouty when the door is open. It was 8 this year, and is serving us well.

Morning!

My god, the children are trying today...they always get like this in the run up to Christmas and it just makes me want to leave home! Xmas Shock

Dry and windy outside...the overnight washing looks pretty dry!

OP posts:
PussyCatEatingPigsInBlankets · 18/11/2021 14:10

Afternoon.
DH couldn't sleep so we were up before 3...then one of the cats barfed in the hall at about 7...then we had to shampoo the bloody carpet.
Bit tired now. 🥱😴

TheWoollybacksWife · 18/11/2021 17:51

Hope everyone that's under the weather is beginning to feel a bit better today.

Looks like we have got snow on the horizon towards the end of next week. I'll believe it when I see it but guess when DS has got a rugby match?

NoWordForFluffy · 18/11/2021 17:53

Oh my. We have snow forecast. If we're getting snow, the rest of you lot are REALLY in trouble!

OP posts:
PussyCatEatingPigsInBlankets · 18/11/2021 19:06

I bought a snow shovel a few years ago...it's only been used for tidying up leaves with the rake so far. Xmas Grin

HeyupitsChristmas · 18/11/2021 19:07

I've heard rumblings about snow locally here too...There's a chap I follow on Facebook who is an amateur weather forecaster, 99 times out of 100 he's right on the button.

(I love the snow - so I hope we get a dusting)

NoWordForFluffy · 18/11/2021 19:08

I'll have to check out OYBBK's predictions on the weather threads here. She's really good too.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 18/11/2021 19:19

I treated my motor to a windcreen cover last year...........still in the box !
Might get used if there's snow/ice .

I am sooo delighted that the Tesco advert uses "Don't Stop Me Now" as it catchy tune and it hasn't been faffed about with or covered by Lily Allen ( No offence Lill but I'd scream if you took a crack at DSMN )

CrazyBaubles · 18/11/2021 21:02

Woolly I've bought those pjs, thank you.

puss we have a snow shovel courtesy of my dad who got excited to find them at some stupidly cheap price in B&Q on summer. He bought 3 😂 We all thought he was nuts until the beast from the east hit - then my mum, sister and me were all very grateful (similar story behind some very useful tower fans)!

I wouldn't mind a sprinkling of snow.

Slight improvement in the lurgy here although I feel tired and still can't lie down properly without my nose running and running.

I'm putting in a big Argos order on their 2 for £15 sale. Once I'm done I'll be more than 3/4 of the way done with my Christmas shopping Xmas Grin

CrazyBaubles · 18/11/2021 21:59

Oh I forgot to add, a house at the end of my street put their Christmas lights up today Xmas Smile

TheWoollybacksWife · 18/11/2021 22:07

DH told me there was a house with lights on round the corner. I initially thought it might have been a few fairy lights to brighten the dark nights but it's full on illuminated Santa and reindeers across the top of two bay windows and the porch 🎅🏻
