Yes please to the recipe Fluffy - I've never followed a recipe, just sort of thrown things in a plan and cooked / roasted it slowly until it tasted ok. I've had 1 disaster but an actual recipe would be appreciated!

I'm not 100% sure what I'll do with the slate Woolly - I'm definitely thinking as a base for candles and greenery though.

puss he bought slate as it matches out placemats😂

Either way, I darent say anything negative or react in any way - I've just been grateful and enthusiastically helpful!

Woolly I agree with The Darkness as an encore - or play this and see if he's inspired...

Wreck being your dd's age is shit isn't it? Poor love - it's too easy to see and think negatively. I hope your friend helped.
Maybe see if you and DH can pay her some random, non weight related compliments over the next few days - they can really help.

NoWordForFluffy · 15/11/2021 20:30

Red cabbage recipe.

Sadly, Puss is right...nothing bloody fits when you get older. I was whining mentioned this to DH the other day...nobody expects people to have my proportions (ridiculously long legs and a - comparatively - short body).

I was so self conscious at your DD's age, Wreck. I'd offer lots of healthy options for her and help her through this godawful phase of life.

Morning!

Time always seems to move faster when we get to this bit, doesn't it?!

No idea why I'm awake. I don't want to be!

Time really does begin to slip away now and I usually slip from well prepared to behind schedule around now.
Teen years are difficult to navigate Wreck. This website has some good resources and linkswww.mentallyhealthyschools.org.uk

ConstantlyCooking · 16/11/2021 07:02

Posted too soon!
We often use it at school,
I am an Apple shape fluffy. It is difficult to find flattering clothes for a short body. Everyone suggests wrap dresses but they don't seem to work on me!

WreckTangled · 16/11/2021 07:07

Thanks constantly that website looks great.

CrazyBaubles · 16/11/2021 12:16

Thank you for the recipe Fluffy

Similar here Constantly - I suddenly feel that I'm behind. Even more so because I'd booked the day off today specifically to use for Christmas shopping but I'm going nowhere because I'm feeling lousy and keep going dizzy 🙄 So fed up of feeling rubbish now.

So far my entire mornings achievements are that Im dressed, dishwasher is on and I wiped down the worktops.

NoWordForFluffy · 16/11/2021 12:35

I need to get wrapping. Might have to do some at lunch time. Or tonight...it's a mission to dig out the paper and presents. Definitely a two-person job!

I know what you mean crazy, l lost Saturday to the lurgy.

WreckTangled · 16/11/2021 13:15

Crazy can you claim your leave back if you're sick when you take it? I know we can...

School are referring dd to their counsellor and she will have fortnightly meetings with her pastoral lead. The school have done some things to annoy me previously but I'm pleased with the response to my email this morning.

I'm freezing today, just folding some washing and watching a CCF in my lunch break.

ConstantlyCooking · 16/11/2021 14:51

That's good news Wreck. There is a real focus (rightly) on mental wellbeing at the moment.

HeyupitsChristmas · 16/11/2021 17:55

It's chilly chilly here - has been all day.

I need to beg ask DH to go up into the loft to get down the box of cards and bag of wrapping paper. I have a couple of watch but don't participate meetings coming up so I can write my cards in the next week.

But I agree...feels like time is ticking away quite quickly!

WreckTangled · 16/11/2021 19:42

My doctor just phoned me to see what I last had a check up at the hospital. I told her it's half seven and she should go home Grin

I've still got a sore throat, it's really dragging on now. Might attempt the gym tomorrow, it's been two weeks Blush hope I haven't lost all my strength!

NoWordForFluffy · 16/11/2021 21:48

Phew...Santa gifts and DS' gifts from us wrapped. To go (not tonight!): DD's gifts from us (last two books arriving tomorrow) and the gifts from Why and our parents for the kids. So about the same again. 😑

Morning!

I was going to see if I could manage the cross trainer today, despite ongoing sore throat and blocked nose. But I slept through the alarm, so no go!

We might see some sunshine today. Hurrah!

Good morning! This thread has just reminded me I need to go into the loft to get the Christmas cards this weekend.
I did manage the important task of going to Lidl to stock up on Florentines. The mini ones are good value but the large ones were about the same price as M&S didn't stop me buying two packs.

WreckTangled · 17/11/2021 06:52

Fluffy I woke up one minute before my alarm! It's a really hard gym session after two weeks off plus my hands had softened up so are sore now.

PussyCatEatingPigsInBlankets · 17/11/2021 10:27

Morning.
Have you heard about this... amazon to stop accepting Visa credit cards. Oh well 🤷‍♀️ bye-bye amazon. I'm not applying for a Mastercard credit card just for them, and I never use a debit card online.
I wonder if they'd accept a cheque? 🤔

WreckTangled · 17/11/2021 11:29

What about PayPal puss?

NoWordForFluffy · 17/11/2021 11:36

Amazon don't use PayPal. However, you could go via Zilch to use that card. I'm not sure you'd still have S75 protection, however, which is the point!

OP posts:
TheWoollybacksWife · 17/11/2021 12:19

You could use your Visa credit card to put credit on your Amazon account in a post office (and some other places). I did think about doing a regular monthly top up as a way of saving for Christmas presents.

PussyCatEatingPigsInBlankets · 17/11/2021 13:13

I could do any of those, but I won't.
They have decided to stop using VISA. I have not.
My CC is linked to my current account and it's paid in full each month, so I simply benefit from S75 protection on all on and offline purchases.
The odd book or DVD I can buy elsewhere. It's probably a good thing in a way.
At least I won't be paying for Jeffs enormous space knob next time he launches it. 😂😂

NoWordForFluffy · 17/11/2021 13:35

At least I won't be paying for Jeffs enormous space knob next time he launches it.

🤣🤣🤣🤣 🚀 🍆🤣🤣🤣🤣

Try Hive for books. It's really good! And eBay has loads of the same sellers as Amazon. My eBay purchases often show up in Amazon boxes...you get Nectar points there too.

OP posts:
PussyCatEatingPigsInBlankets · 17/11/2021 13:58

DH is a bit anti-eBay. He had a few probs with something a decade ago.
I have enough filters for the vax until it (or I) dies and I can get cross stitch/knitting supplies elsewhere not that I'll need anything for a while
I won't really miss amazon, they're a PITA pushing bloody prime all of the time.

CrazyBaubles · 17/11/2021 15:40

puss I think Amazon and Visa are both being ridiculous in this argument and it's going to be lose lose for them.
DH has Prime because it shows things he wants to watch and while I use it, I wouldn't care if we cancelled.

As Fluffy said, Ebay are really good - we buy loads on there.

Yesterday was a bit of a miserable disaster here. Our fridge freezer broke - it kept tripping out the electrics. My dad came and tested something or other and basically said it needs a £££ part or we can replace. As it was one left here by prev owners and the plan was always to replace it, we decided to get rid.
We were both tired and grumpy so did a bit of snapping at each other while trying to measure the gap, find and order a new one online, re-jig the little freezer to save as much as possible then empty the food we were going to lose.

Im a bit miserable today too, purely because I still feel rubbish Blush
