Fluffy both Morrison's and Asda have diesel at 140.7/litre

NoWordForFluffy · 22/10/2021 19:03

That's 7p/l cheaper than here! 😱

Quick check in from me. No idea of petrol prices here - I filled up a couple of weeks ago and probably won't need to again for weeks and weeks 😂

DH is still waiting for his pcr results but mine came back negative.
I can feel a bad throat coming but not sure if that's just stress / generally feeling run down as hormones and period are kicking my arse at the mo.

TheWoollybacksWife · 22/10/2021 19:42

Time to send DH and the kids home on the train and fill the car with jerrycans 😂

NoWordForFluffy · 22/10/2021 20:37

If the car's being turned into a driving bomb, I'll take the train home! 🤣🤣

I'm trying to find out the price of Costco petrol at my nearest branch but you'd think I was trying to get the answer to Life The Universe and Everything .
(It's telling me the price in Perth but Id need 1.5 tanks to bloody get there ! )

I have bought myself the GH Christmas Collection . Not had a proper read but why the hell do they put nice food on the scabbiest plates and serving cutlery that you'd only use to spoon out your dog's food .
Page 178 is a plate of fudge on a chipped wooden board
D'you want a piece of Fudge'n'Emulsion Paint? I made it myself

NoWordForFluffy · 22/10/2021 21:19

Ahhhhh...that'll be 42, 70! 🤣

CrazyBaubles · 22/10/2021 21:44

70 😂😂

Bad news here - DHs test is positive. He's insisting he's ok but has also napped this afternoon and has been asleep for the night since just gone 9.
Anxiety is high here, especially after seeing my parents struggle so much with it over the last week.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 23/10/2021 00:59

Star 63 Star

Nine weeks time will be Christmas Day Xmas Grin

Hope your DH is ok Crazy sleep, fluids, painkillers

I've been looking at fireworks displays , weirdly none on The Day (which is a Friday so ideal)
There's a Thursday/Saturday/Sunday . No idea why ?

DS has just got home (the Dirty Little Stop-Out) so I'm off to bed now .
Loaf of bread on the go for overnight baking .

WreckTangled · 23/10/2021 03:54

Sorry to hear that crazy I'm sure he will be fine after a few days of rest

I put £40 in my tank Wednesday lunch time and have 100 miles left now which is pretty shit. We have quite a tight budget to stick to and my fuel 'allowance' is £40 a week but I'll need to put more in this weekend.

WreckTangled · 23/10/2021 07:07

I've just realised the click and collect I booked defaulted to the local tiny Tesco instead of the one in the city, where dh is. He was going to collect it on his way home now I have to drive to the nearby town to get it and he's got all the shopping bags. No wonder it was so expensive and I couldn't get half the things I wanted. So annoyed with myself. Also I've been awake since 4am so really could do without going out and wasting more fuel 😩

NoWordForFluffy · 23/10/2021 07:36

That's really annoying, Wreck. I do wish IT-based things didn't try to be clever like that.

DD has a day trip with friends today, so we're taking DS to the local wetland place so he gets a trip out too.

OP posts:
CrazyBaubles · 23/10/2021 11:21

Ah that's annoying Wreck

DH is in bed. Resting is not something he does well so he's bored already - he seems to be swinging between feeling rubbish and needing a nap and feeling so ok he wants to get things done.
I also now feel like I'm coming down with a cold. I'm doing an LTF today and will do one every few days to keep a check.

It's so odd that I don't have to isolate. It doesn't feel right to me so the only time I'll be leaving the house will be to walk the dog until next week when I know I'm clear.

Im having a Christmassy day - watching a CCF with plans for finish the Santa bag, start the next cross stitch card and do some online Christmas shopping Xmas Smile

NerosFiddle · 23/10/2021 11:32

Got my flu jag this morning along with DD. Arm is sore but so glad I got it.

NoWordForFluffy · 23/10/2021 14:07

That's good, Neros. I do like getting it too.

I'm just making my chocolate cherry Christmas pudding. It smells amazing!

I hope your DH isn't being too annoying, Crazy. He'll get better faster if he rests totally, however!

Chocolate Cherry Christmas Pudding you say Fluffy .....

I have a jar of Luxado Maraschino Cherries arding about (good till Dec 22) they might work well in that
I was planning a Black Forest-ey Gateaux but the pudding would go with ice cream .

I bought some eyelash serum for DD (she has lovely eyelashes anyway and prefers the Revitalash one - £££ ) so I was hanging on till they did a good offer .

NoWordForFluffy · 23/10/2021 21:22

Here's the recipe, 70.

Thank You Fluffy
I think I'd miss out the raisins/sultanas (extra cherries) and the spice and make it more chocolatey .

NoWordForFluffy · 23/10/2021 21:50

God, we LOVE spice here! DS especially!

OP posts:
70isaLimitNotaTarget · 23/10/2021 22:36

Ahhh , I don't like spice'n'chocolate
Not keen on fruit'n'chocolate but cherries are ok .

I have a year to use them Xmas Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 24/10/2021 07:37

Morning!

70, I've made this before and the spice isn't overpowering, given it's only a teaspoon amongst the rest of the ingredients.

It sounds rather damp outside, but overnight rain was forecast, so not unexpected.

I'm off to dig more of the allotment today...I have a section I'm going to do, then come home. I really want to get it cleared before the end of November. Next week is cutting the raspberry canes down. More digging the week after!

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 24/10/2021 07:45

Morning. It looks kind of orange outside here today. It's weird as it's cloudy.

We're going to a garden centre that has a great Christmas section (someone told me it's out so hopefully it is) they also have a Costa so will probably treat the dc to one of those.

pussycatlickinglollyices · 24/10/2021 07:48

Morning,
Raining here. Not much, but enough. Just seen a Robin in the back garden 😍 so it can't be that long to Christmas Xmas Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 24/10/2021 07:54

One of the allotment robins was hanging about watching for worms last week, Puss. They shout if I'm not digging fast enough. 🤣

We can't take our kids to our local garden centre as they badger for toys so badly it ruins the trip, as saying no 40 billion times is exhausting.

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 24/10/2021 08:00

Oh that's annoying. Dd has grown out of that, if ds does it I usually get him to take a photo of it with my phone and tell him we can add it to his birthday/Christmas list. I don't think this one has many toys of interest to them though. There's also a big hobby craft but as you know I'm not very crafty Grin I like looking though
