Crazy hope your DH recovers quickly and isn't too poorly.

Fluffy your DD will have a wonderful time. I hope she isn't too much of a "Deva" when she comes home (Latin joke)

It was windy here overnight and also (typically) today is bin day. DH was out at 5 rescuing our overturned recycling bin - luckily it had fallen with the lid closed and he got to it before anything came out. I'm still having flashbacks to last year and chasing empty coke cans down the street when the bin overturned in similar circumstances.

NoWordForFluffy · 21/10/2021 11:02

Part of Chester's (old?) football stadium (the Deva) is across the border into Wales. It also used to be legal to shoot Welshmen with a bow and arrow if they were within the city walls!

Fluffy Actually, we're allowed to chuck 'em off the walls Grin after midnight. That is why there is no clock face on the back of the Town Hall.
The Deva stadium (the new one) is interesting. They qualify to play in both England and Wales, the ground mostly in Wales but the car park mostly in England. The original stadium was completely in England.

NoWordForFluffy · 21/10/2021 17:53

Similar, Puss! Grin

DD did march with Romans...she's too tired to say much (though denies this!).

OP posts:
pussycatlickinglollyices · 21/10/2021 18:00

They normally go on a march through the amphitheatre and the roman gardens (hypocaust).
I've seen the kids in the summer eating their butties on Bridge Street Row, but it might have been a bit chilly for that today.
She should be able to tell you which is sinister and which is dexter when she wakes up Grin

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 21/10/2021 18:51

Throwing off walls and shooting with a bow-and-arrow ....? Might email our local MP to see if that can be introduced to our borough ( obviously the rules would need to be drawn up by someone impartial and rational . Not me then, I'd have peope bumped off for crimes against mine eyes like arsehole driving and parking , and being inadequately dressed )

My DH has The Lurgy now , ( negative LFT so hope it blows over)

I'm going to btanch out of my comfort zone tomorrow and go to a different supermarket ( still Sainsbury , not going that off piste Xmas Grin )
(Going to drop DD off en route)

I might find some exciting finds ..or I might think That was a crock of shit

Had to scrape my car this morning. The temperature bounced between 1&3° on my car 🥶

I've had more pension arrears come out this month Angry so I'm £60 down. So annoyed. They took pension arrears last month and I've moved up a pension tier so I'm now paying in 7.1%. I really don't earn much money so it's quite a chunk that's gone out this month - about 15% of my take home pay Sad

NoWordForFluffy · 22/10/2021 07:43

That's way colder than here, Wreck. We do have a WNW wind though, so it's cold outside! Thankfully it swings round to the south tomorrow.

I'm resigned to some heating each day now, as our lounge is definitely struggling to maintain a comfortable temperature. It doesn't need much, just a top up so it's not below 17°. 🥶

How can you have pension arrears, Wreck? Aren't they meant to take it monthly?

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 22/10/2021 08:01

Yes they do. The pay rise was back dated last month and put me up to the next pension tier. I had a small amount of pension arrears last month and this month £60 which is almost half of the back dated pay rise. I really don't understand but it seems it's happened to lots of us, going by the fb groups.

pussycatlickinglollyices · 22/10/2021 08:32

Crikey that's chilly 🥶 Wreck I guess they must be right about your increase in pension if it's not just you.
Bedroom is about 15 and living room about 19 at the mo. DH will have the heating on later he's only happy when I'm too hot 🥵
It's raining here, and a bit blowy.

TheWoollybacksWife · 22/10/2021 09:25

Morning. Chilly here but dry. I've got a few errands to run today and I think I'm going to do some baking.

pussycatlickinglollyices · 22/10/2021 10:05

Just been out for bread. Petrol is now £1.40.4 per litre (no diesel) Shock

NoWordForFluffy · 22/10/2021 10:19

Yeah. Diesel was that here the other day. Just before our trip down south. Handy.

@TheWoollybacksWife, what's the price of diesel down there?

TheWoollybacksWife · 22/10/2021 10:26

I'm going out later Fluffy and I'll check for you.

NoWordForFluffy · 22/10/2021 10:27

Thank you!

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 22/10/2021 11:07

Puss it's £1.44 in places here it's ridiculous isn't it?

pussycatlickinglollyices · 22/10/2021 11:56

Last summer (2020) it was just under 95p!
Heard on the TV that about 58p is duty, then you pay VAT on top...Rishi is raking it in!

pussycatlickinglollyices · 22/10/2021 11:58

Wreck that was Morrisons, there's a Tesco up the road to "keep them honest" iyswim. Grin
The independent ones are over £1.45 Shock

WreckTangled · 22/10/2021 12:44

That's crazy. I think our supermarkets are still at £1.40. Although I drove past tesco yesterday and half an hour later drove back and it had gone up 2p HmmGrin

pussycatlickinglollyices · 22/10/2021 12:54

Absolutely. I'm dreading filling up the car. so much money 💰 🙄
NoWordForFluffy · 22/10/2021 13:26

DH has gone to fill up. Might need a bank loan first!

OP posts:
MissingMo · 22/10/2021 13:59

I feel lucky I filled up last week at those prices. Picked up an Argos gift guide at sainsburys, will give to DD and we will write a Christmas list in half term. Will pick up a Smyths one instore this weekend perhaps.

NerosFiddle · 22/10/2021 16:12

I'm lucky that I live so close to the border. It's £1.30 for petrol and Tesco is charging £1.38.

Me and dd have our flu jag tomorrow morning. The gp is doing mass vaccinations again this year. Trying to get everyone done in 2 days.

WreckTangled · 22/10/2021 16:44

DH is staying away tonight so I've told the dc I'll take them out for dinner to the local Italian. They've told me they're sleeping in bed with me tonight Hmm I would rather they didn't tbh as they're both so big now.
