Watched Judi Dench in Who do you think you are? last night, it was fantastic. fluffy you need to add it to the Josh Widdicomb one to watch on iplayer.
Going to go through the kitchen cupboards and drawers later and have a good clear out. I found a casserole mix dated bb 2014 yesterday Blush

CrazyBaubles · 20/10/2021 07:52

Morning.

Wreck I took your advice and went to bed very early. Was flat out by 9:30!

We luckily get TOIL in this dept - didn't in previous ones and overtime was only when the business needed it but I didnt do it often.
I much prefer where I'm working now - we're basically trusted to keep track of our own hours, take TOIL when needed etc. I never realised how much of a difference that could make.

Fluffy with annual leave I'm learning to switch off my work brain and always make sure my first day or 2 back are meeting free. Doesn't take all the stress away but it does help!
Seems crazy that holidays can be so stressful doesn't it?

70 nothing wrong with getting your Christmas jumper early! I bought a Grinch top in early summer because it was a £3 bargain Xmas Grin

Oh dear puss, 2014? 😂

WreckTangled · 20/10/2021 08:08

Glad you had a good sleep crazy

Lots of floods round here which is annoying as I have lots of driving to do today.

HairsprayBabe · 20/10/2021 08:57

Wet here too for the last few days, sorry I keep dropping off, I used to be so good with keeping up 😖

DS christening this weekend and I have gone a bit insane OTT its the first time he has met a lot of family, and he didn't have a birthday party becauase I was in the throws of hyperemesis so I've hired soft play got a stupid expensive cake, an un-mumsnetty balloon arch and I am even considering a DIY forbidden grazing table over a traditional buffet😅

His Halloween costume arrived yesterday as well - he is going to be a bat and I'm trick or treating at my neighbours for 1 box or rasins 😅

NoWordForFluffy · 20/10/2021 09:02

Sounds like my kind of party, Hairspray! MN is rather puritan about so many things! Xmas Hmm

Puss, I may have to have a binge watch at the weekend. It had got a bit dull in the main, so I'm glad they've unearthed more interesting ones!

Crazy, it's all the prep work for holiday, in order that your task list isn't left full when you finish, and then catching up afterwards. Just awful. Every time I speak to a solicitor who's about to go on leave, we have a whinge / commiseration session about it! 🤣🤣

NoWordForFluffy · 20/10/2021 09:03

Hairspray, we delayed DD's christening to have them done together. Our gap is a bit smaller though. DD was 17 months and DS 4 months for it.

fluffy I thought Josh (and his reaction to all of his relations) was funny but Judi...I don't want do to "spoilers" but it felt very much a circle. You'll understand when you've seen it. My eyes may have got a little moist at one point, and I don't normally do that.
Hairspray It sounds fab (although I'd keep to a buffet on separate platters/trays) I hope he enjoys being a bat. 🎃🦇Halloween Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 20/10/2021 10:18

Shit, I cry at the drop of a hat. I'll need tissues! 😭🤣

OP posts:
pussycatlickinglollyices · 20/10/2021 10:30

Yup. I'm going to watch it again and will have a box ready on my knee 😂

pussycatlickinglollyices · 20/10/2021 10:33

They warn about strong language, violence, sex etc - but never "this will make you cry could make you emotional" 🤔

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 20/10/2021 10:54

I watched Judi Dench last night and I had tears in my eyes as well Fluffy and I hardly ever cry #ToughBird.

I have a new phone today, I always forget what a ballache it is to set up even with all the smart switch shiz.

NerosFiddle · 20/10/2021 14:07

Oh must watch WDYTYA. I love a good cry

TheWoollybacksWife · 20/10/2021 19:45

Evening all. We've had thunder, brilliant sunshine and a hail storm today. It's half term so not much going on here.

NoWordForFluffy · 20/10/2021 19:50

Half term? Ours is next week. Can't wait for the break from the 'getting ready for school' treadmill!

OP posts:
TheWoollybacksWife · 20/10/2021 20:10

He gets a two week break in October so he's off next week too. Dreading the return of the school run - I usually do the evening pick up and it will be daaaaark 😢

NoWordForFluffy · 20/10/2021 20:12

I can barely drive at night these days...I find so many car lights WAY too bright to handle.

OP posts:
TheWoollybacksWife · 20/10/2021 20:23

I dropped DS at his karate lesson for 7pm tonight. The journey is mostly on unlit roads through the countryside and most of the oncoming traffic had brilliant headlights.

I was tailgated by a white van through a village with speed cameras at both the entrance and exit to the village. The utter dickhead decided to overtake me on the hill going out of the village as he (I'm assuming it was a he male bias) obviously didn't like me doing 29 mph in a 30 zone. I'm hoping the the camera on the way out of the village was operational 🤞🤞🤞

I've never watched WDYTYA, maybe I should try it?

Things are going tits up here. DH has just had a positive lateral flow test after getting what appeared to be a cold that was stopping him from sleeping. I'm now concerned my headache is actually a symptom 😩

I've just chucked a load of my clothes in the spare room so he can quarantine in our room for now, and we've booked tests at the local test centre for 9am.
Keep your fingers crossed for me 🤞🏼

NoWordForFluffy · 21/10/2021 06:22

65 (Correcting the bold!)

Good luck, Crazy...apparently Delta does appear more like a cold, but the government hasn't amended its message about the 3 main symptoms.

Woolly, plenty of dickheads like that around. Our side streets are mostly 20mph here. People HATE you sticking to it!

We keep getting woken up by joggers before 6am, coming past having a loud conversation. I'm really not impressed!

I'm not doing the cross trainer today as I've slept so badly. Back to it tomorrow.

DD is on a school trip to Chester today. She's very excited. She's not had a trip in ages thanks to Covid!

OP posts:
pussycatlickinglollyices · 21/10/2021 06:34

fluffy I guess your DD be dressing up as a Roman? She'll be marching and shouting "Sin" and "Dex" when she gets back! They have loads of fun following a "real" Roman.
Crazy Good luck. NDNs 18yo son had it and managed to not share it with the rest of the household, so it is possible. 🤞

NoWordForFluffy · 21/10/2021 06:37

Is that what they do?! She'll love it! 😁 Probably can't dress up in Covid times, however. 😞

OP posts:
pussycatlickinglollyices · 21/10/2021 06:45

I think so. If you google it there's loads of pics of kids with shields or with armour. Grin

WreckTangled · 21/10/2021 07:10

Oh dear crazy hope no one is too porky with it. I think the false positive rate on LFT is something like 0.3% so very low.

That'll be nice fluffy ds had a trip on Monday to a sculpture park and they went somewhere last year too... a Roman palace.

I haven't been paid as much as I thought I would be which is disappointing. Pay slips aren't up yet though so can't see what's going on. Haven't even been paid yet but can see it pending.

MissingMo · 21/10/2021 07:34

Morning all, dark and dreary here. Hoping these last 2 days before half term go quickly. Done the meal plan for December and November now so should have no last minute panics about what to cook as I've been doing this week. DP work have offered the kids a Grotto experience this year so booked that in. Should be good and helps save money for the local wonderland which is bound to be very expensive.
Nothing worse then tailing drivers Woolly as a fairly new driver it really stresses me out.
Fingers crossed for you both Crazy not what you need right now.
Hope DD has a good time on her trip Fluffy
