Thanks for the last thread @MissCherryCakeyBun and thread title @OneMorePieceOfCheese and @room4onemore

If you’re posting anything specifically for me please do @ me or I may not spot it. It’s helpful if when sharing bargain info you bold it to make it easy for people to differentiate between chat and bargain links.

[quote Maranello]Ranked "great" on TrustPilot, in case you think I'm a dodgy hamper purveyor in disguise Grin

Didn't the last lot 'use' UPS too?! 🤔🤔

Savemesome · 05/10/2021 17:47

@EvilHerbivore did you find the wine easy to cancel? Mine arrived today so would like to know how easy it is! Thanks 👍

RJnomore1 · 05/10/2021 17:53

@Maranello sorry to doubt you 😂 it was quite a thing though

Anyone remember the mooing cookie jars? I’ve been here too long!

Notlongnow1 · 05/10/2021 18:04

I think I arrived the year after the mooing cookie jars as I remember it still being raw 🤣

@evtheria

Hello, all! Hope someone can recommend me a great children's audiobook on CD for DS, 7, who has an old-school stereo in bedroom. We bought him the BBC version of Wind in the Willows, and he absolutely loves it (plays it everyday........) so would love some more good-quality productions, but everything seems to be on audible nowadays.
We had loads of audio CDs when mine were small. Favourites were. Paddington Harry Potter Railway Children Narnia Beatrix Potter Enid Blyton (on cassette!!) Secret Garden Chitty Chitty Bang Bang Robinson Crusoe Wind in the willows

You can often find these on eBay, music magpie and in the used section on amazon for a cheaper price.

unfortunateevents · 05/10/2021 18:10

Wasn't there an uproar over Hush candles one year as well? Or an offer which allowed you to use a money-off voucher with no minimum spend so everyone just bought a candle?!

WildWomenDo · 05/10/2021 18:12

It was the M&S gin, Prosecco hampers last year but I think some people got them.

RJnomore1 · 05/10/2021 18:14

Oh there was! They said people shouldn’t have shared and everyone boycotted hush.

There was a to do with a poster one year posting from hotukdeals

And of course the annual fight about it should just be bargains no chat...

RJnomore1 · 05/10/2021 18:14

I did well last year - I got one of the two hampers I ordered and they refunded me for both 😳

IggyAce · 05/10/2021 18:16

I must admit as soon as I saw the mention of Scottish hamper I checked trust pilot to make sure they were legit. I didn’t order a hamper last time but remember the fall out well.

NoWordForFluffy · 05/10/2021 18:19

Yeah. That was a real disappointment!
BabyClam · 05/10/2021 18:19

People had mentioned Hot Wheels and car washes in an earlier thread and I saw one in Tesco today for £18.50.

They also had free from advent calendars and were putting all the Lindt chocolate out.

@evtheria we have enjoyed Worzel Gummidge read by Jessica Martin made by Naxos.

CoffeeChocolateWine · 05/10/2021 18:32

@evtheria, Tom Gates read by Rupert Grint. I bought it for my DS when he was 7 or 8. He’s 13 next month and still listens to it EVERY NIGHT without fail! Never seems to tire of it. My daughter loves it too.

recklessgran · 05/10/2021 18:41

I've just had an e-mail from H&B giving 20% off spends over £25 with code HB20 ending at midnight. Apologies if it's already been posted - I'm drowning in work and haven't got time to catch up on the thread right now. Hope it helps someone.

Duckyneedsaclean · 05/10/2021 18:43

I actually managed to get two of those m&s hampers last year! Then got pregnant before Christmas and haven't drunk either sparkly gin yet Shock Grin

Restlessinthenorth · 05/10/2021 18:48

I got the M and S hampers last year. Definitely one of my best thread finds

Would anyone be able to advise on scooters for 7 and 9 year olds?. Their character ones are on their last legs and getting too small, so they will be getting new ones for Christmas. Ideally under £50 each and must fold. I dont know what brands are ok, or even where to look! Help please wonderful Christmas people!

There's some Globber scooters in tkmaxx for £50 atm - the master should be ok for their ages. Globber
Duckyneedsaclean · 05/10/2021 19:32

Or for the 9 year old you might consider an Evo commuter scooter, they're 40 or 50 in Halfords depending on wheel size Halfords
