What’s everyone getting for their teenage boys? I won’t put an age on it as I need any and all ideas! Anyone have any ideas that aren’t clothes/trainers?

Very short charging cable
Power bank
Earphones
Phone case
Naice boxers
Naice socks
Condoms!
Drams of tequila/vodka
Travel size toiletries
Steam card
Nando's card
WH Smith's cards are apparently very good if you are not sure. They can be exchanged for all sorts of gift cards.

@TheSunIsStillShining

I don't understand something - and pls. don't flame, real question

why is a battery pack, charger, clothing items, socks that are needed (not funny/novelty ones) considered gifts?
We buy headphones/charging cables, battery packs when it breaks and the need arises.
Come to think of it first headphone 5 years ago probably was a xmas gift.

In my opinion a gift should be something special. not necessarily big or expensive, but thoughtful and personal. Having said that, last year he got a gaming chair - but it does have his initials embroidered on it :)
We are at a loss this year. Doesn't help that his bday is in Nov.

Let take a couple of examples

ds first earphones were a Christmas present as it was something new he never had before. They were cheap and basic. If he broke them he replaced them himself for a few quid. A subsequent Christmas we upgraded to SkullCandy as he mentioned friends had then, another Christmas upgraded to wireless ones, he is now on Airpods.

So he is getting new functionality or better quality sound he wants, not just replacement earphones. We didn't jump straight to very expensive Airpods until he learnt to appreciate and care for the cheaper ones first. If he lost his airpods he would be back to basics until next birthday/xmas.

Same with charger - he has a charging cable doesn't need another one, buying a 5m is not just buying a cable it is buying him the abililty to charge his phone while sitting on his bed which is something he is pleased he can do and therefore is thoughtful.

Some great ideas here, thank you!

Character.com do some good quality dressing gowns for tweens/younger teens.

An off-road driving lesson is another idea for someone not quite old enough to learn to drive yet.

My DS birthday is Xmas eve Hmm.. double whammy...I'm getting him an electric drum kit for his birthday...

Qextor · 23/10/2021 20:07

Have your kid write a list of several things he would want. Tell him some should be realistic (not too expensive or hard to get) and some that are 'shooting for the stars'. Let him know he won't be getting everything on that llist, but you will pick and choose what he will get.

Starlightstarbright1 · 01/11/2021 11:54
