What’s everyone getting for their teenage boys? I won’t put an age on it as I need any and all ideas! Anyone have any ideas that aren’t clothes/trainers?

One of the best gifts that DS got last year was a table tennis set that attaches to the dining table to make it into a table tennis table. It always comes out when his friends come to visit!

Last year I bought DS a pack of 3 long trunk Calvin Kleins in a Medium and then had to later also buy them in a small. He's 5.9' with a 29 waist so happily wears both but the medium were a bit baggy on the legs. They've not worn out at all so I won't be buying more till next year. Obviously he has more in different brands.

DS is 15 and will be 16 by Christmas and is always a bit tricky to buy for. So far the list is very short.

Last Eid my nearly 17 yr old was gifted the full driving test kit so the theory test DVDs, highway code and a logbook sort of thing to tick off all the manouvers as he learns them .its come in really handy.

Some fantastic ideas here. Thanks all - the charger/gadget related stuff is a winner. Thinking of a cookery experience too.

Re boys pants, lol.

My DS 15 announced out of the blue yesterday that his favourite pants (trunk style ) are the ones from M&S. He still fits into their older boys range. He's 6 ft with a 30 inch waist

Which means I can stop buying him CK at Christmas from now on. Although I won't be giving him M&S Autograph pants in his stocking either because that would be weird.

I don't understand something - and pls. don't flame, real question

why is a battery pack, charger, clothing items, socks that are needed (not funny/novelty ones) considered gifts?
We buy headphones/charging cables, battery packs when it breaks and the need arises.
Come to think of it first headphone 5 years ago probably was a xmas gift.

In my opinion a gift should be something special. not necessarily big or expensive, but thoughtful and personal. Having said that, last year he got a gaming chair - but it does have his initials embroidered on it :)
We are at a loss this year. Doesn't help that his bday is in Nov.

@TheSunIsStillShining maybe it's like the time I persuaded DS when he was a toddler that eating plain ice is a treat In all seriousness he actually really appreciates nice headphones, battery packs and spare chargers, phone cases or anything tech as presents more than he would anything else. He'd also like anything to upgrade his PC set up. He doesn't care much for pants and socks though!

It's so they learn to appreciate the simple things in life as also being necessary and special. More so the older the DC get. No one wants spoilt entitled teens now do they.

Hoodies are my answer. Amazon has very unusual ones but when I see someone wearing a hoodie that is unusual I ask them where they got it and usually they have a web site on their phone and let me take a picture. I also take a picture of the person wearing it but not their face. Everyone is quite kind to let me take picture.

thesunisshining we are almost the opposite as find most presents (that aren’t ‘useful’ or edible) end up feeling like clutter and as you say you are at a loss this year - our dc know there’s only so much ‘stuff’ one wants and often we’d far rather do stuff together. Eg had quite a laugh one year booking a walk with alpacas

I never knew what to get for my friend’s children so would put cash in their birthday & christmas cards from when they were babies up to teenagers & older. The parents either saved the monies in the child’s own bank account or bought items that were wanted at the time saying it was from Auntie Tomasina.

I always struggle with my teen, he’s asked for a few ps5 games and that’s all.

I’ve seen some funky lamps that are like lightbulbs and have writing in them, I’m thinking of getting one of those this year to add into his pile. Really stuck after that though!

DS has just asked for a heavier weight lifting set than what we have currently. Is more expensive than a new x box, but at least it's fitness related.

I’m actually finding this really useful for my brothers who are in their 20s!

Last year I got mine an anker power charger, teddy fleece blanket and cushion, smellies, gamer socks, books, chocolates and a cap (his main present was money). This year he’s getting a gaming desk, gaming keyboard, led lights to go round his monitor/desk, chilly’s water bottle, smart plug and clothes and chocs. He saved his money last year for a vr headset (which didn’t work with his pc or x box) he had to wait till May for his birthday for a new gaming pc (we all put money in and my brother built it for him). He also got a gaming chair in the past.
