Thanks @riverhouse for the title!

You've all sold me on telestrations!

£18 on Amazon currently which the camels say is pretty darn good - lowest ever price was £15

PeachTea1 · 20/09/2021 08:22

Love the idea of under the desk work out equipment. I find I hardly move around when I’m wfh and force myself out on a lunch walk. Does anyone have any tips will have a look at the Bluefin recommended by @Gemma2019

MrsLannister · 20/09/2021 08:23

Thanks for the recommendations for awkward teen DD! Really appreciate it. Will look into a few of these.

@nocutsnobuttsnococonuts she does read manga, although I can’t get my head around the reading backwards thing!

PostPopper · 20/09/2021 08:45

@Gemma2019 under desk trainer is an absolutely brilliant idea for my teen ds doing online uni. And will go with the cooling towel 😂. Which one did you buy please, there are loads at various prices, I don’t know where to start!

The newer version of the Switch has a Oled screen apparently. This is pasted from a tech magazine, which started off comparing the original switch to Switch V2, & then the latest upgrade due out in October:-

However, jumping from the Switch V2 to the OLED model doesn't have nearly as significant upgrades. The OLED model doesn't have a higher resolution, but that display does give it more vibrant and crisp colors than the Switch V2 has.

Additionally, the OLED model has a much-improved kickstand that goes along the backside of the console rather than a flimsy piece of plastic. Lastly, the OLED model dock has been improved to feature a LAN port for a direct internet connection. Unfortunately, you'll need to pay an additional $50 for the OLED model compared with the Switch V2. Now, the Switch V2 is a perfectly fine console and will work for any home. However, if you're bent on having the latest and greatest or want a more stable internet connection, you'll want to grab the OLED model.

Everything five pounds have a half price sale on. I’ve not looked through it all but might be good for a few bits especially for teens

NoWordForFluffy · 20/09/2021 09:33

@Someaddedsugar, they don't usually announce double up until way nearer the time (annoyingly!). All the bargain pages are still predicting it'll happen though. Can you imagine the uproar if it didn't?! Xmas Shock

YouAreEnough · 20/09/2021 09:44

Urban Decay have a couple of items 50% off. There's two palettes down to £25 from £50 plus a couple of other bits. Not a massive choice but still might be of interest to some

Jumpingintosummer · 20/09/2021 10:17

Wiko have good prices on elmers glue etc for slime enthusiasts Confused. DD loves the stuff!

PathOfLeastResitance · 20/09/2021 10:20

I’ve just been to Asda and they have the mini 10 pack of Green and Blacks down to £3 something. About £2 off. Good for teacher presents/stocking fillers/stuffing in your bag for personal use.

PaddingtonPaddington · 20/09/2021 10:22

LEGO 60280 City Fire Ladder Truck Toy with Firefighter Minifigure £10 down from £17.99 on Amazon

WellThatsATurnipForTheBooks · 20/09/2021 10:31

Amazon still have the Cadbury Family Heroes 16 Treat-size Bars, (222 g) at £1.75 (option of further reduction with subscribe and save) if anyone is putting together an advent or needs something to bulk up a stocking or movie night type hamper.

yoshiblue · 20/09/2021 10:54

@BadgerFace Thanks again for telling me about 66 Book Club, all my books have arrived today.

Thought it would be useful to share a couple of top finds on there:

World of Cities book Really nice A3 sized book perfect for a gift £4.49, looks expensive

London for Children book Bought this for my DS as our main Xmas present is going on a city break to London next year - £4.49

Father Christmas and Me book Got the hardback for under £4, cheaper than the paperback version I already had on my Amazon wish list

Also found a few good paperback reads for me, it was quite easy to spend £25 in total.

ClosedAuraOpenMind · 20/09/2021 10:58

thanks for the tip about the Elmers glue at Wilko @Jumpingintosummer - got a load for DD who loves it
@sepsisandAKI I noticed in the Aldi mag they've got beauty boxes coming soon.....you might want more up market than that, but their stuff has always been pretty decent, as well as well priced IME

WoMandalorian · 20/09/2021 11:08

Does anyone know why the BUNDLES25 code isn't working for me on the playmobil store? It says add 3 items to cart (not on sale) and you should get 25% off but it keeps telling me "coupon not applied"?

PinkDaydreams · 20/09/2021 11:30

It's only on certain items sadly
sittingonacornflake · 20/09/2021 11:38

@yoshiblue what age would you say the cities book would be good from please?

ClosedAuraOpenMind · 20/09/2021 11:47

Monsoon have 20% off full price items with code 20OFFRWD
ends tonight

TakeMeToYourLiar · 20/09/2021 12:08

@passremarkable

I'm soooo late to the party this year. Thank you *@Reastie* for one of my most favourite Christmas traditions. I have no idea what I'd do without this thread.

Couple of discount codes...
CELEBRATE20 gets 20% off full price stuff at POUNDTOY

MOVE50 gets 50% off their clearance stuff.
They had some LEGO, Marvel, Avengers, Mr Men etc stocking fillers things....
Free delivery was over £25 so if you're doing a big order it's worth buying the clearance and full price stuff separately as it won't let codes stack.

Thanks for this, sorted DS party bags
Willow4987 · 20/09/2021 12:15

Anyone else getting a bit jittery about waiting for deals given the rumours of low stock on toys this year?

I’m waiting to get a specific toy doctors set and the vtech ice cream cart but I’m stuck between waiting for a deal or buying it now to ensure I’ve got it Confused

I’m trying to get almost all of the gifts this year on a deal to try and save some money so the idea of paying full price isn’t sitting well Grin

sittingonacornflake · 20/09/2021 12:21

@Willow4987 yes! I'm buying now for anything that is top priority and to make sure there are enough gifts so that if everything goes tits up Christmas can still happen.

NoWordForFluffy · 20/09/2021 12:22

Yes, @Willow4987, a bit. I'm holding out for the Sainsbury's toy sale / double up as I've money saved onto a Sainsbury's gift card for that purpose. The sale is in a few weeks' time, in theory, so hopefully it'll all be OK! I want to use double up for a Joy Con, however. And that's not til mid-Nov!

Jumpingintosummer · 20/09/2021 12:32

One time use code for 20% off new look full priced items only. VG4-WR6H-R52X-2LYL

DinosaurOfFire · 20/09/2021 12:38

@Willow4987 Yep, I'm feeling like that about deals. I don't want to wait and miss out- the news seems to be 'there will be toys but you may not be able to get the exact one you would like' but with 3 neurodiverse kids, things being exact is really important in our household! I plan to get the main things as soon as possible, if I see them on offer great, and then the smaller bits and bobs should be ok closer to the time. It goes completely against how I've always done Christmas shopping though!

Daisy829 · 20/09/2021 12:41

@Willow4987 yes a little bit but I’m spent up atm so need to get paid. However if it gets to mid Oct & there’s no sign of a smyths discount I’m going to get the bits I need from there.
To be fair they’ve got lots of stuff anyway so they even if i can’t get the bits they’ve asked for they have plenty.
