Thanks @riverhouse for the title!

@MrsLannister

Looking for recommendations for main Christmas gift for a 14 year old girl. She is adamant that she only wants boots and clothes but you know what it’s like, you want to wow them!

She has the tech that she would use, doesn’t really have a massive amount of hobbies. Likes makeup (alternative) clothes (alternative) animals and anime. I would be so grateful

Hey hun boots now does kat von d makeup (it used to be in debenhams too) KVD beauty. Vegan brand as well. They're great for alternative makeup type fans, there's usually nice sets at xmas plus the perfumes (Saint and sinner) are really really nice. The most popular colour for the lip colour and eyeshadow are both called lolita.

Emp clothing is also a good site for clothing, merch, bags, shoes etc.

Lego Architecture Statue of Liberty is £69 on Amazon which is about £20 cheaper than anywhere else I've seen.

BeGoneDom · 19/09/2021 22:24

@WisestIsShe The writing was small, probably best to have a look at one in person to judge how good they are. They were really lovely looking, I suppose it depends how much time your DM will be spending reading it and how good her eyesight is!

HungryHippo11 · 19/09/2021 22:28

Also Lego Forbidden Forest has a voucher of £7 off, on top of a discount already making it around £16 instead if £24

@WisestIsShe home bargains had small globes similar to the ones begomedom linked. But I didn't notice the price. Might be worth a look

@mrslannister my dd is really into anime, and collects funko pop figures of her favourites. She has posters for her room. And has asked for a few cosplay outfits, maybe pair with a ticket to go next year? They are so much fun and the costumes are incredible, plus so much merchandise you wouldn't find elsewhere.
Does she have a crunchyroll subscription? They have a huge amount of amime available to stream, we are considering it for dd1.
Blippo does lots of Japanese and kawaii things, lots of food, stationary and more. Great service and comes fast too.
Does she read the manga too?

@MrsLannister I got my DD a Bluefin under desk elliptical trainer so she can get some exercise while she is sitting at her PC. I haven't opened it but it looks great and I think she will love it. I had no idea what to get her as she has everything she needs. They had all sorts of under desk exercise bikes and trainers on Amazon.

Thanks for new thread x

Throughtheforest2 · 19/09/2021 23:09

Loving these threads - new to it this year. Been lurking, thanks for the tips!
Had a question I was hoping someone could help with. Have a couple of young sibling teens to buy for and not sure what they’re into. Was thinking about pulling together a selection of movie snacks, e.g. gourmet popcorns, etc, and including a voucher for an online movie.
Thought I could do this through nowTV or something but doesn’t look like they do this anymore. How would you go about getting a voucher for an online movie? Confused

hahahayoumustbejoking · 19/09/2021 23:14

Oliver Bonas has a sale on with lots of low price gifts suitable for Christmas. www.oliverbonas.com/beauty/sol-pink-velvet-alphabet-make-up-bag-318766#selection.letter=2083

I really like these velvet make up bags

@MeredithGreyishblue

Where’s the giraffe toilet roll holder from? I missed that one

happytobemrsg · 19/09/2021 23:23
@happytobemrsg is there anything in particular they watch?

Mine has Spy Ninja gear as she likes them but there's usually stuff for any one!
He watches Ryan of course but his stuff is over priced. Otherwise lots of tech stuff! At this age he’d be happy having stuff with just the YouTube logo itself on it

TheCrow · 19/09/2021 23:42

I remember there being a lot of talk about Telestrations last year, does anyone who bought it recommend it and is it suitable for a 9year old?

Matalan I think

Givealittlebit · 19/09/2021 23:45

@Justonedayatatime11 if I'm honest I have no idea! I'm assuming the 1.1 is just a newer version of the switch?!

Limeavocado · 20/09/2021 06:27

@TheCrow we bought Telestrations last Christmas on the marvellous advice on this thread and my 8 year old absolutely loves it. Has her crying with laughter but we modify the rules slightly for her ie letting her choose the word on the card rather than being under the same restrictions as the rest of us and there are quite a few occasions where she has to swap her card completely, either because she isn’t confident of the meanings or it’s too complicated to portray for her. Genuinely her favourite game though and we’ve really enjoyed it together!

Someaddedsugar · 20/09/2021 06:37

Does anyone know if Nectar will do the double up offer this year? I've had a search but can't see anything for this year (although I could be overlooking something!)

Bert2020 · 20/09/2021 07:02

@Someaddedsugar they had it last year so keeping everything crossed.

Netflix do gift cards so you could buy a months subscription.
sepsisandAKI · 20/09/2021 07:31

Thanks @Theimpossiblegirl will have a search! If anyone else has any good offers on beauty boxes I’d be grateful.

Kittyswhiskers · 20/09/2021 07:44

Has anyone seen any good offers for Peppa Pig playset? We have quite a few but my son wants more!

superstar84 · 20/09/2021 07:55

B&M is always really good for Peppa pig play sets

YouveBeenLittUp · 20/09/2021 07:58

B and m and home bargains are usually the best place for Peppa sets.

Riverhouse · 20/09/2021 08:01

@TheCrow I was probably one of the ones last year recommending Telestrations. I have teenagers and we all play it and love it. We end up in fits of laughter. Last year I'm sure it went down in price on Amazon too.

MeredithGreyishblue · 20/09/2021 08:02

@LulaMaeBarnes sorry Matalan 20% off homeward plus free delivery over £40. Or free store collection. Tbf I'd have bought the giraffe at £10! My mum will love him
