No gold tickets left at the JL thing @Brogues

Daimyum · 10/09/2021 11:14

Does anyone remember where the crystals came from please? They were small ones for an advent calendar. Thanks

Gimmemoredonuts · 10/09/2021 11:24
@Gimmemoredonuts do you have a link? Al I can find is the box kit at £12+ or just the packets of the mix for £3.50
It looks like it's gone back up again. I thought there was a glitch as I could only bag one box. Sorry for the disappointment. Sad

VeruccaSalty · 10/09/2021 11:29

Ahahaha, they DO look like sperm, the most precious jewel of all.

@mummymummymummummum the Thinkfun games are generally good, my four year old loves Zingo! and Rush Hour is a good logic game

Notlongnow1 · 10/09/2021 11:36

My Bakedin past boxes have arrived 🙂 Look great for under £4 each but doesn't say on packaging of each what they are so not great gifts unless you order only one type I guess. You need additional ingredients though so potentially a tad disappointing on Xmas day if you don't have them in! I am also impressed by the freebie Fruitellas in my parcel. Yum!

Just done an inventory. I’ve purchased so many bargains for my girls I’ve put some into next years pile. However I could do with a couple of medium/largish looking items for my nearly 11 year old DD so the piles even out a bit. Any ideas greatly appreciated. Not clothes, soft toys or blankets if poss although I’m open to ideas. She loves horses.
Oh actually crafts would be good.

Tinysnickers · 10/09/2021 11:54

My 5yo and 7yo both love sleeping queens (card game) and also like uno. They cheat horribly though. They also like the old school 'beetle drive' game where you roll a dice to get beetle body parts and build your beetle. 5yo also enjoys hungry hippos. Not much skill involved there Grin
They like monopoly junior too, and 5yo often asks to play lotto. Ours is a really cheap set from Tiger.
Both enjoy guess who too.
Pick up sticks is a bit of a disaster because they just cheat non stop and deny having moved another stick. Kerplunk they like but it's actually a right pain and takes ages to wedge all the little sticks in before you can play.

Wolfcub · 10/09/2021 11:56

I had enchanted forest as a kid 40 years ago and loved it. It looks exactly the same so going to buy it for my niece I think

Tinysnickers · 10/09/2021 12:00

Oh and the hit game from last Christmas was Outfoxed. It's a collaboration game so everyone either beats the fox or doesn't, so no tears/poor loser/winner scenario. They can play without an adult easily now and are still just as chuffed when they beat the fox.

Finally a discount I can add!

Neom have discounts on some of their gift sets. Got a sleep one reduce to £23.

My footie from We print balls have come i got the size 5 silver football its lovely so went back on the website and now ordered the size 3 for a toddler that's £10 Smile

Councillorbrian · 10/09/2021 12:45

@ButtonMoonLoon Aldi had the soda stream genesis in store last week for a reasonable price - might still have some.

Also, if anyone is in Aldi and spots the Crane soft archery set from a few weeks back, they are excellent quality and great fun. Cost half the price of the set we bought recently from decathlon, and is a better set imho

withiceplease · 10/09/2021 12:51

I ordered 2 £10 H&B boxes last Thursday. Received nothing other than order confirmation on the dat 😢

Daisy829 · 10/09/2021 12:59

H&B just arrived. Looks & smells amazing! Not opened it as giving it to DH to put away for me. With that and the M&S chocs I’m doing well so far

Summerbreeze4 · 10/09/2021 13:03

@17caterpillars1mouse

This might be a strange request but does anybody have any recommendations for a toy pig, maybe like an interactive pet type one? Not looking for a soft toy one and we already have schleich ones, just something for my piggy obsessed 3 year old haha
www.tesco.com/groceries/en-GB/products/291622366

This one is our dogs favourite, it’s made of soft rubber and squeaks. £3.20 club card price. It’s about 7inches long.

Changingagain · 10/09/2021 13:09

@mummymummymummummum we do the same with DS, it's amazing how his behaviour has improved since we started.

If you have a third player then monopoly junior, cluedo junior and risk junior risk are good. His favourites with just two of us are top trumps (he has a few but favourite is toy story), mouse trap, don't rock the boat and bugs in the kitchen.

Thislittlefinger123 · 10/09/2021 13:13

Popped into my local M&S. They'd didn't have many Christmas bits out yet, but they did have lots of the gins.... I must say I thought they look really disappointing. They were my go-to gift last year but this year the bottles don't look anything like as nice, I think it's the print/paint, looks a bit cheap. So I didn't get any 😔

Cluckycluck · 10/09/2021 13:20

@Thislittlefinger123 I've also found the look of the M&S gins disappointing this year. I've just stumbled across Bottle Bling and they have a couple of very pretty Christmas gins. Not a clue what they're like but they look like they'll make lovely gifts, especially the gin stacker.

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 10/09/2021 13:22

just had an email from brandalley, they are offering bundles of birchbox beauty boxes for different prices. could be good for anyoen doing advent calanders and the like :)

Haveyoubrushedyourteeth · 10/09/2021 13:22

@thislittlefinger123 that's what I thought regarding the Gins, even lit up I don't think they'll look much better which is a shame after last year's were such a great go to gift.

5Minions2CallMyOwn · 10/09/2021 13:25

Does anyone know how to get an Argos code please? I’ve shopped with them for years and never ever been sent one, even though I know a lot of people are. What am I supposed to be doing to get one? Thanks

HoHoLow · 10/09/2021 13:37

@Mumto3thatsme

Spotted this lego deal on hduk yesterday and picked it up in Asda last night, £24.99 down to £18
Thank you so much for sharing this! I’ve just been to three Asda shops (Blush) and finally the last store had one. Delighted as ever asked for the ocean Lego which I got previously thanks to the thread so this will go brilliantly for him to display in his room.

On a similar not - anyone have any other ocean themed bargains they’ve spotted? Or seen any wrapping paper etc?

Also I think this thread has ruined me for normal prices shopping. Looking around the 3 asda stores I wasn’t overly impressed with their “roll back” - it didn’t seem to be rolled back by much! I think I’m seeing so many good bargains here that a normal reduction just doesn’t cut it any more.

torthecatlady · 10/09/2021 13:43

Present Indicative - mug reduced today only I think! *

Really Useful Mug

Could make a really cool gift for students / teachers Smile
