Can anyone recommend Christmas books or a big book of Christmas stories for my dd. She is 9 and very into the magic of it all but is an avid reader, read Harry Potter etc so looking longer stories. She still reads all our old Christmas books like Mog on Christmas Eve but would lap up anything Christmas related.

Has anyone got ideas of unusual board/card games. My friend loves games but she has lots so need to find her something a bit different.

I have been looking at the same for my soon to be 8 year old. I have bought The Night I Met Father Christmas by Ben Miller and The Snowman by Michael Morpurgo. I know the Christmasaurus books are popular too by my son is not a fan of Tom Fletcher’s books.

Thanks @anotherone4 I expect dates are pre Christmas but will be lovely to do with the kids on colder autumn days. If dates are longer than I think the mocha Swiss roll will be in my stocking!

Speaking of stockings, I should really be on the lookout for things for my husband's. Since discovering these threads a few years ago I seem to have the best stocking in the house 🤣 I don't even feel guilty since I do all the shopping!

Incase we need to entertain outside again this winter. We had great fun with guests, marshmallows and mince pies next to ours last year we put up fairy lights in the garden and it was quite lovely.

We read How Winston Delivered Christmas last year, it's a chapter a night book through December and has Christmas activities dotted through it too.

For those looking at beauty boxes I recommend the one off next boxes or getting one of the subscription boxes, lots of discount codes on unboxing videos on YouTube.

I find roccabox and birchbox to be the best for discount codes and good quality boxes. They do some mystery boxes too half price now and again
