If you’re posting anything specifically for me please do @ me or I may not spot it. It’s helpful if when sharing bargain info you bold it to make it easy for people to differentiate between chat and bargain links.

To follow the thread without using up a post to mark place you can click on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first post.

No affiliate links please.

Referral thread here to use for if you’re posting your personal referral link to others.

Second message has a few links and info which I’ll slowly build up, let me know if there’s anything you’d like me to add to it Thanks

@Whydidimarryhim I got my DD a CD like that, and one with her name in Christmas songs from Trago Mills.

Christmas21 · 05/09/2021 20:14

Look Fantastic have 20% off until 11pm tonight.
I got DH some new aftershave. Free delivery over £25 too and also on topcashback.

Ourlady · 05/09/2021 20:20

I don't think there is any harm in a bit of friendly chat/asking for ideas. If people just posted bargains and links then it would all be a bit cold. This thread is such a friendly welcoming place for all of us and gets us all excited for Christmas.
And I agree, when people post answers to idea requests it often helps others which is lovely and helpful.

Anyone able to provide suggestions for a paddleboard for a 17 Yr old novice.i know that she will also need a life jacket and wetsuit

dementedma · 05/09/2021 20:31

I like the thread as it is. A lot of it doesnt apply to me as I dont have little ones to buy for, but I enjoy the chat. So far have brought the hot chocolate shaker, the Urban Decay palette, the Bodum travel.mugs and a Spicery kit.

DollyPartBaked · 05/09/2021 20:34

I like this thread as well. I'd never even heard of Dobbies and now I'm obsessed with going to one!

Daisy829 · 05/09/2021 20:38

It’s a great way to get ideas. I’ve brought things I would never have known about thanks to this thread it’s brilliant.
Re the precious post about smyths discount, does anyone know if this will be online as well as instore? If instore only presume I could click & collect.

Trumpton · 05/09/2021 20:39

@Notlongnow1
I can’t find the note book and pen offer. Have I missed it ?
Sounds perfect for my great niece

Jinglebells21 · 05/09/2021 20:40

@Fashionesta

Apologies if this has already been mentioned but if anyone has been considering the OMG Remix at the extortionate price of £139, the Entertainer is currently selling for 50% off at £69.99 (it's DDs main present).
Is this the one with the 4 dolls in aswell as suprises? If so it's coming up as "we no longer sell this product".
Thisisbatshit · 05/09/2021 20:47

Xmas Blush sorry for the confusing typo! I'm not sure how disaster became dictator.

I love the gift suggestion element of this thread- I've discovered so many lovely gifts that way.

Notlongnow1 · 05/09/2021 20:50

@trumpton you should see a box that says Promotion Available between details and Add to Basket. Then click on 'Add both to basket'. Discount applied at checkout. Hopefully that helps x

Thisisbatshit · 05/09/2021 20:51

Firepit £23 at Aldi online

Incase we need to entertain outside again this winter. We had great fun with guests, marshmallows and mince pies next to ours last year we put up fairy lights in the garden and it was quite lovely.

I really enjoy having the friendly chat, requests for ideas and lovely posters offering to help each other out and the lovely folks who run these threads ever year. I’ve been here for a few years ( under different names) and these posts are a way for me of sharing the Christmas magic all year round with other Christmas nuts, I know that more sensible folks join the threads nearer Christmas but all are welcome. I think threads of only bargains would be very dry indeed and I don’t think that posters would go out of their way to post sales or discounts if there wasn’t the lovely fuzzy feeling the threads generate and the genuine desire to help other people out. I have got many good ideas for gifts from other posters asking for suggestions and have heard of many small companies that I might never have heard of otherwise. Most of us have the same sort of people to buy for, difficult men with no hobbies, older relatives who don’t want things, tricky teens with niche interests, young children that we don’t know very well etc etc and no-one not matter how big their budget wants to spend more than they need to. I may be way off base but as this suggestion comes up regularly I guess this suggestion comes from people new to the threads who just want a list of discounts and don’t want to engage in any other way, I think most posters like me, like these threads just the way they are and having a separate referrals thread is good. Part of the fun is crazy thread titles, referrals back to amazing bargains of the past and a whole flock of sheep ( I confess I’m a sheep at times).
If it ain’t broke don’t fix it!

Invasionofthegutsnatchers · 05/09/2021 20:58

Truth.

Trumpton · 05/09/2021 21:02

@Notlongnow1
Ah ! Sorted and ordered.
Am laid up with Covid and my brain isn’t very sharp !

endlesscraziness · 05/09/2021 21:08

Any recommendations for a price monitoring tool? DD wants a Nintendo Switch and I'll probably get it Black Friday but would be good to monitor prices

Thank you!

Startaler · 05/09/2021 21:13

Looking at the Scribbles that matter journal and I spotted this one for only £5.09. A cork bound dotted notebook

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 05/09/2021 21:14

@DollyPartBaked I hadn't heard of them either but persuaded my DP to drive over an hour to one today.
There were NONE of the items I wanted Shock. Not one single item of the things that's been mentioned on here so far. I was gutted. And then I found a hedgehog house reduced from £80 to £20 so that cheered me up Grin.
They had some lovely glass items for the garden too that have good reductions.

If anyone is intending visiting the Huddersfield Dobbies for kids toy bargains, don't bother.

FireworkParrot · 05/09/2021 21:18

@Yeknom

Natural Dictators is surely a great contender for the next thread title!
Voting for this to be the next thread title @Reastie
NoWordForFluffy · 05/09/2021 21:19

@endlesscraziness, I use Price runner, but I'm not sure it does alerts, you just have to search for what you want.

We had the conversation about chat last year and it was decided that we like it (in the main). I don't think we need the same conversation every year!

PinkDaydreams · 05/09/2021 21:27

Can anyone recommend good quality animals please?! I’ve heard of schleich (or however you spell it) but wondering if there are other brands to look for please? I’m looking for a bundle of sea creatures, in particular crab, turtle, jellyfish, octopus for my son. I’ve seen tubs in home bargains but the quality looks a bit naff sadly

ItsAllBlahBlahBlah · 05/09/2021 21:30

I love this thread 😍 I don't know anyone IRL that's crazy enough to shop in july/August so I am happy I found my people 😂 I love helping people out where I can as I save so much money myself through other people's suggestions, it's give and take isn't it.

Sneezein3s · 05/09/2021 21:34

@ItsAllBlahBlahBlah Early Learning Centre animals are good quality. Sadly no crab though.

Sorry for the crap link x

ItsAllBlahBlahBlah · 05/09/2021 21:34

@PinkDaydreams I think Papo is popular. There's plenty on amazon for £4 or so each but I can't see any sets. May be worth a look?

Sneezein3s · 05/09/2021 21:35

@PinkDaydreams sorry the above message was for you tagged the wrong person 😳
