I bought a couple of things for Christmas presents

One of DD advent calender gifts
Dressing gown for DS (his Dec 1st Box)

DH and I are going to see Emily Atack next month

Drainage searches are back! So all we are waiting on now is the responses to our queries submitted to our vendors on the 25th August. Also our buyers have one remaining query which our solicitor is dealing with. I feel like the finishing line is in sight!

Two weeks tomorrow for Strictly, can't wait.

Morning!

I struggled to sleep until a reasonable time today. I deliberately didn't check the time when I woke early and managed to nod back off. Then DS woke me at 7.15 when he woke, little sod! 🙄🤣

Haircut day today. The hairdresser is bringing her kids as her childcare fell through, so it'll be a riot! 😁

I've said we'll go to the park for a bit too. Exciting times. 🤣 Thankfully it's only across the road, so easy to get to.

Morning. Dh is working (obvs) almost two hours away so he left at 6:15 this morning.

It's going to be warm again today and then hot until Thursday. Typical now we're all back at school and work.

Morning all. DH gets back late this afternoon. I have very little energy left but will stagger to the park and DS has asked to make ginger bread men.

I couldn't sleep either, so got up at 4 to make DH went back to sleep and I stayed up to annoy the cats 😹
Nothing exciting happening here, so I might fall asleep listening to the Cricket later...🥱😴

Lovely boring Saturday here too! DS is at his dads so DW and I are lazing in bed with the dogs sleeping on it, having cuppas and biscuits. My fave part of the week.

It's been a busy/high anxiety week with DS starting secondary school so I'm glad of the rest today! About to pop out to Sainsburys, I want a nice snuggly cardigan and a Christmas magazine. Are there any good ones out yet?

My quiet Saturday is about to get busy as I'm babysitting my niece this afternoon. She's 3 and wants to know everything about everything 😳
I'll report back later about how it went.

I haven't looked for Christmas magazines yet but DH renewed his phone contract the other day and it came with a choice of gifts (mostly subscriptions for Disney+, Prime etc which we already have) so he chose a 3 month subscription to Cafeyn, signed up then put it on my phone and ipad (it's an app which contains a lot of magazines and newspapers - 3 months should get me to the Christmas editions)
I've had a good look through and it has Good Housekeeping & Red which are some of my faves along with home ones and craft / cross stitching ones

We've had haircuts. Failed at going to the park though. 🤣

I watered / fed the chillies and lemon tree, mowed the lawn and cleared weeds / old pea plants, as it's green bin day on Monday. I have some dough in the bread maker to make spiced fruit buns and I'm going to make some meatballs once the lamb has defrosted. DH made pizza dough. I'm weighing up cleaning the kitchen, but may do that tomorrow afternoon instead, after doing the tomato sauce for the meatballs later!

Oh, obviously the kids had their school photos yesterday, the day before their haircuts. We weren't warned. Our hairdresser would've come before if we'd known! 🙄

I went to Bluewater with DD , got some Back-To-University clothes/shoes for her .
Bought DS some loungwear+Tshirts for his Dec 1st Box (thought I might as well then I wont be staggering about in Nov with carrier bags full) . Need to get their Winter pyjamas nearer the time .

I put the pizza dough in the breadmaker to mix this morning ( its A Tradition on the Saturday , put the dough on to mix , let it prove all day then they shape and cook it later )

Ill make a batch of pizza sauce for the freezer next week , I did some a while ago in the slow cooker it was bloody delicious !

I have made it to annual leave, not in again till 23rd.

I am slowly pottering about doing the cleaning as I am knackered and can't be bothered to expend too much energy.

why you have timed that really well, it's supposed to be lovely weather for the early/middle part of the week.
We've had a lazy day, spent listening to various neighbours doing multiple DIY projects with just a little bit of swearing 🤕🔨🩹💊 😂

Fluffy that happened to us last year. DS had a barber's visit booked for the Saturday morning and photos were taken on the Friday. Post lockdown hairstyle - DD2 did a photoshop edit on the print. To add insult to injury year 10s aren't having photos taken this year so all his teachers must think they're teaching a member of the Hair Bear Bunch.

I'm nipping into town tomorrow to pick up an order from Boots - stuff suggested by the bargain thread 🐑 and paid for in Boots points. I'm going tomorrow because it's free parking 😂

Would be the first time ever I have timed it right puss, can usually guarantee bad weather when I am off 😂

Woolly not many plans really, probably a trip to the seaside and hoping to catch up on some reading.

Is it the Prince makeup pallets, Woolly? I snapped one up for DSis. Free parking means it's a really good bargain 😉

I found another two loo rolls in the airing cupboard in the holiday cottage, meaning a grand total of 4.5 rolls (not very stealthy boast ).

Unfortunately, we had to cut our holiday short as DD had a fall on Wednesday night and broke her arm near her shoulder. Follow up with the fracture clinic at home this morning, and it turns out she's broken her elbow as well. Poor little love. They couldn't do anything for the top fracture, but offered to put a cast on the elbow fracture. She is hardcore and has been trying to crawl on it, so I said yes to the cast. Touch wood, she's adapting really well.

Woolly, schools are bonkers...I'm pretty sure they know they have the skanking twats photographers coming, so could've given notice! Every sodding year it's just before a booked haircut. 🙄

Sorry about your DD, Firefly. I'm sure she'll heal quickly at her age. They generally do.

I need to go to bed now. Early start tomorrow as I need to water the allotment. It hasn't rained for bloody weeks.

Not the Prince makeup - I asked DD2 if she liked it but she already had lots of the colours in another palette in the same brand. I got a No7 set for me, some of the Superdry toiletries DS uses and a stocking filler for DD2 plus some foaming face wash to take advantage of the 3 for 2 offer.

Your poor DD Firefly. Hope she heals quickly and it doesn't hamper her too much getting around.

I'm up, reluctantly, and not as early as planned! and having a drink before I head to the allotment.

The weather is a touch warmer from today, then 25-27° Tues and Weds. Scorchio!

We are forecast 27 on Tuesday as well!! Where the jiggins did that come from?!? Better check DS's school shorts fit!

First bit of wintery organisation done - flu jab booked for next month!
