Even our jeans / things with heavy waistbands got dry! It was very welcome. 😁

14° is definitely heating temp, Crazy! 🥶🥶

Crazy that crocodile stitch one in the middle is brilliant and would be quite forgiving if your stitch count was a bit squiffy. Maybe try making a flat beard with perhaps three of the rows where you work in the back loops only. (One at the top, one in the middle and one at the bottom). Then crochet the crocodile stitches into the front loops afterwards.

WreckTangled · 29/09/2021 20:11

There's fuel!! Dh has gone to join the massive queue 7 miles away Hmm that's the nearest one though really apart from some v expensive independent ones.

WreckTangled · 29/09/2021 22:20

He got some. Queued for 90 minutes, someone in front of him actually ran out of fuel so everyone helped push them to the forecourt. It's absolutely ridiculous. The garage closes at ten but they're seeing it out to the back of the queue.

NoWordForFluffy · 29/09/2021 22:22

That's bonkers, isn't it?

Our petrol stations were mostly empty of fuel yesterday, apparently.

Morning!

My cold is ongoing still. My throat is so sore! Sad Hopefully it goes soon. The Zoe app has asked me to test, so a postal PCR is on the way to me.

It's set to hammer down today. The allotments will be flooding by the end of the week at this rate.

DH went on a litter/cat food shop at 6, no queues for fuel.
He's managed to pull the button off a 2nd pair of chinos, so I've 2 to repair now...when we get some daylight.
Crazy I meant a sort of embroidered version iyswim but I love the textured/bumpy version in your 3rd pic.🎅
I thought I had some spare bulbs for the oven - they're cooker hood ones.🤦‍♀️ Will have to pop to Wilko later.
fluffy can you get DH to go to Boots and get some of this I've used it before and it will take all of the pain away.

NoWordForFluffy · 30/09/2021 08:31

We still have some Tyrozets in the cupboard, which are apparently discontinued now! I've had one of those.

Think I'll have to cancel my blood donation next week, annoyingly. They don't want you if you've been ill recently. Sigh.

I need a few bits from Wilko if you're going, Puss?!

Morning.
Im not actually sure what the fuel situation is here at the mo as I haven't been anywhere. Im saving my fuel as DH is going to have to use my car to collect me tomorrow night (I'm getting the train to Cardiff for a gig).
I think we're both going to run out this weekend though so hopefully we'll sort something out Saturday.

We're putting off our Costco trip because of the fuel situation as it's 50 mins away. I'm a bit impatient to go and look at the Christmas stuff there.

I hope you feel better soon Fluffy

It's already raining here and is due to continue all day. Glad I cleared the washing yesterday!
It's quite chilly too - I have fleece bed socks and a woolly jumper on.

I went with the crocodile stitch for the beard in the end. I'd already crocheted 'the face' (a circle) in a flesh coloured yarn so I'm going to have to sew the beard on top. Pic attached - do you think I should make a white semicircle to go underneath the beard so we can't see the colour underneath? Or am I being too fussy for something that's likely to be used a few times a year? Xmas Blush

That looks fab Crazy. Do you want me to send you some toy stuffing and some safety eyes so you can make it 3D? They eyes were too big for a project I did recently and I've always got toy stuffing.

Hope you feel better soon Fluffy

CrazyBaubles · 30/09/2021 15:22

How big are the safety eyes Woolly? If they're big enough for this I'd be very grateful for them as my little box of them went MIA in the move.
My Santa is going to be made into a little handbag so I'm not sure Id be able to make him 3D but thank you for the offer of stuffing.

My Christmas cushions covers have arrived today. DHs head is going to explode when he sees them because I bought so many 😂

Wreck they're really good for £2 each so thank you for putting me on to them Xmas Smile

CrazyBaubles · 30/09/2021 15:28

Oh I forgot to say, DHs friend (the one with the farm) has confirmed she's having turkeys again this year so DH has ordered ours, my mums and FILs. I'm so pleased, they're free range, born and raised about 5 miles away and last years one was really tasty 😋

WreckTangled · 30/09/2021 15:47

I'm pleased you like them! I was impressed with them for the cost.

TheWoollybacksWife · 30/09/2021 15:54

They are 15mm Crazy. If you want them send me a PM with your address. I've got 3 sets so just let me know if you want more than 1 set.

pussycatlickinglollyices · 30/09/2021 16:36

Fluffy have you sent me your "Noah" rain??🌧🌧 It's chucking it down here. Send a dingy dinghy 🚤
Crazy won't they all have names...you know...if they've been raised from an egg. Shock

CrazyBaubles · 30/09/2021 17:11

Thank you Woolly - I've pm'd you

Puss I think she got 15 turkeys last year and named them after components of a Christmas dinner (Cranberry, roastie, carrot etc).
She's a farmer so it doesn't bother her. Doesn't overly bother me either tbh - I've eaten a chicken I helped look after at MILs (named Edna) but it took me ages to be ok with it. DH did lots of eye rolling at me but he would - he was raised on a farm so he's been doing this stuff since he was a boy!

NoWordForFluffy · 30/09/2021 17:15

Puss, I can't have sent it to you, as it's still here! 🙄 🌧 ☔️

pussycatlickinglollyices · 30/09/2021 17:42

Crazy I couldn't eat him/her, but then my DH wouldn't care Hmm
fluffy we must be sharing then did I mention I can't really swim?

ConstantlyCooking · 30/09/2021 19:20

I'm wearing last years PJs right now the green ones Grin
The duvet cover will go on the too heavy for me 13.5 tog for DH when it gets a lot colder.
I've adapted to a 10.5 tog by rolling it up between me n DH then I just have the 4.5 tog on me, or me = 🥵 it has the added benefit of him not being able to kick me in his sleep. 🤔
😂

DH and I have our own duvets. We have done from more or less as soon as we started sharing a bed - he would cocoon himself and I'd wake up nithered in the early hours!

Means I have to spend twice as much when I buy new bedding, but is worth it!

We've had torrential downpours here as well. DS was out with Beavers and came back very soggy but he had a whale of a time!

I won't get my food porn M&S brochure until the weekend. Just realised I haven't had the Good Housekeeping magazine I ordered the other week - I'll need to chase that up tomorrow!

NoWordForFluffy · 30/09/2021 22:23

I chased my GH yesterday, Firefly. No response yet!

Sigh. DS (11) has got bloody covid. He spent the weekend with his dad and his girlfriend who is a nurse, and she got her positive yesterday so we trotted off with DS to get a PCR last night. Feeling very guilty as he told me this morning he couldn't smell anything, but I thought he was faking to get a day off so I sent him in Blush

Now the waiting game to see if we get it. I have my uni induction on Monday, absolutely can't miss it!

MeredithMae · 30/09/2021 23:03

Oh, and crazy I love the Santa.

NoWordForFluffy · 01/10/2021 06:21

Morning.

I'm feeling more ropey today. Woooo! I need painkillers, but that involves getting up, which I'm not willing to do yet. 🤣

I'm going to do my PCR this morning and take it to the postbox before work. Wonder when I'll get the result back?

My friend and her daughter have it now. My friend likely had it last year, before they got their testing act together. She hasn't had her vaccine booster yet though (midwife).

It's still wet today. Not sure we need any more rain!
