My laptop is being a bastard thank you very much Mr Bill Gates, I will quite happily kick your balls from here to silicon valley before I pay another £400 for yet.another.laptop that needs.an.update.every.bloody.day so if I disappear it's techy issues.
Have I mentioned my intense hatred for IT crap?!?? What a waste of £££

WreckTangled · 17/09/2021 16:05

Oh just saw Candy Kittens on the Vodafone rewards on the bargain thread. Anyone here got a code spare?

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 17/09/2021 16:14

I found last years W&H Christmas edition under the mattress (must've put it there because it was a tad meh )

I'll have a mosey through it later.

TheWoollybacksWife · 17/09/2021 17:00

PMing you now Wreck

NoWordForFluffy · 17/09/2021 17:04

Anyone else on Vodafone for me?!

OP posts:
whydoesitalwayshappentome · 17/09/2021 17:34

I am on Vodafone Fluffy

NoWordForFluffy · 17/09/2021 18:14

I had a strop at Vodafone being useless, and I'm now on O2!

We've just been doing our annual 'the sodding parcel is too big / heavy, how can we make it smaller / lighter?' packing of the presents to NZ. Every year there's a problem. The common denominator is me buying the presents. 🙄 Fuckwit. Xmas Grin

Fluffy I was with Vodafone once but went back to o2 because they were shit.

Ds woke up at 5:30 so I was awake then too. The cheaper seats for flights to Edinburgh have sold out now so that's that. Annoyed with dh as he kept saying we should be able to go but wouldn't commit. We have the money now but there you go.

Promised the dc I'd take them to Starbucks today as they've never been Grin dd has lots of homework and I've got stuff to sort through for uni. Ds will probably just sit watching YouTube although he has homework too.

NoWordForFluffy · 18/09/2021 07:06

Morning!

It's Strictly day. Whoop!

That's a shame re Edinburgh, Wreck. Do you think he delayed on purpose so you wouldn't be able to go? Can you shift the dates, or are all the cheaper seats gone?

The kids have a party today. I have a flu jab booked at Boots, but I'm pretty sure their system will have gone wrong like last year and they'll have no record of it. I have a screenshot, but no email and it's not showing in my account. At least I'm prepared for it this time! 🤣

I'm going to look for outdoor Christmas lights while I'm in town. There seems to be a shortage online, so I want to see what there is around and just get some.

WreckTangled · 18/09/2021 07:13

The cheaper seats have gone and the hotel has gone up £100 too. I don't think he did it on purpose he just doesn't understand that if you don't book early then prices go up.

What sort of outside lights are you looking for? We have window lights but that's it.

NoWordForFluffy · 18/09/2021 07:29

Ideally some with the bigger, globe balls. I'd buy these but they're out of stock of the necessary transformer, so I can't. They'll lose loads of sales over that, I'd think (they've been out of stock all year, so there's clearly huge supply issues).

I thought you'd booked the hotel just in case? So frustrating for you. Thankfully I don't have that problem as DH has had it hammered into him understands about early booking.

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 18/09/2021 07:35

Oh I really like those style lights.

I have but I was hoping to cancel and rebook with Clubcard vouchers, now with the price increase there wouldn't be any savings.

It's going to be a nice day today but a weather warning for rain tomorrow.

ConstantlyCooking · 18/09/2021 08:53

Good morning all- I just typed a long post only for it to vanish. Have a great day.

MeredithMae · 18/09/2021 11:52

Hurrah for the weekend! I'm still in bed internetting while the dogs nap on me. DW has popped out for a haircut and will be bringing back lunch from the bakery. We have an entire weekend of NO PLANS! My favourite kind!

CrazyBaubles · 18/09/2021 12:49

Wreck I think I'm like your DH, I'm rubbish at planning early to get savings. We only manage it because DH is great at it and I never complain, just let him carry on 😂

As expected DH came home drunk - he sang a bit, ate his chips and passed out so it wasn't too bad. He's a cheerful drunk so I don't mind.

I ordered a breakfast delivery and am doing steak for tea. Apart from a bit of cross stitch, crochet and internet shopping im not doing much.

Nice lights Fuffy.

Im looking for curtain star lights like the pic (undecided on white or multi coloured) and I want a set of fairy lights for the tree that I can change between coloured and warm white.
I've also got a little shopping list (Garland, table centre, table cloth, tartan napkins, stocking holders) so lots to keep me busy Xmas Grin

Crazy those are the lights I've got, in warm white. They look so nice from outside.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 18/09/2021 16:48

I bought some star lights (not used them yet ) planning to hang them in the front room window (battery operated )

I woke this morning with MaleCat standing on me ( this is the cat who doesn't give me a second look) his front paws on my sternum with all his weight . He's a slender but heavy boy .
If he was practicing CPR then 0/10 because I'd already said "Oi you lump get off" so his DRABC (Danger Response AirwayBreathing Circulation) would tell him the old bat's whittering therfore alive Xmas Grin

WreckTangled · 18/09/2021 17:11

It's been a balmy 25° here today. Wished I'd have known, I would have got in the garden instead of napping on the sofa Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 18/09/2021 17:42

It's been relatively sweaty here too! I'm hoping the washing has dried. DH can find that out soon when he retrieves it. Grin

I've made chilli jam and some muffins for DD's packed lunches and then cleaned the kitchen / utility etc. My arse is now welded to the sofa.

Nice work, Fluffy!

I have very similar to those curtain lights too. Warm white. But they're in a sort of V shape, so frame the tree. Love them!

lachy · 18/09/2021 18:46

Anyone fancy a coffee in Booths at Knutsford? I'm thinking of going on 30th November or 1st December.

NoWordForFluffy · 18/09/2021 19:31

I still have 2 days off to book. I could be persuaded! 1st would be better as DH won't need the car.
