I just checked and it alkyd take me four hours to get there so probably not Grin

WreckTangled · 18/09/2021 19:35

It would not sure what alkyd is Confused

NoWordForFluffy · 18/09/2021 19:46

It's 58 minutes for me! Hopefully Puss' laptop hasn't died and we can get her there too!

And now...Strictly! Eek! 💃 🕺

1st works for me. Something to look forward to. I'm going to do all my posh Christmas nibbles shopping there Xmas Grin

MeredithMae · 18/09/2021 20:14

I checked too, 5 hours for me! Boo. I've always wanted to go to a Booths, is it like B&M?

NoWordForFluffy · 18/09/2021 20:17

It's about as far from B&M as is possible. It's more posh than Waitrose!

I have 2 near to me, one about 10 minutes' drive and one about 20 minutes' drive. We used to have one here, but it closed. Xmas Sad Before I got here, so at least I can't miss it!

Crazy I got my cushion covers and am amazed with the quality. It's just prints on one side and plain on the back, the material is much thicker than I thought it would be.

CrazyBaubles · 18/09/2021 20:37

Knutsford is 3 hours away for me (and I'm in London that weekend for the HP play and won't get home until Monday night).
Such a shame - Booths and a coffee seems like the perfect Christmas thread meet up!

Booths is somewhere I'd love to order from for Christmas but unfortunately there isn't one anywhere near me. Their catalogue is 😍 though

For those of you with star lights, where did you get them from please?

Oh dear Wreck, I'm now down a Christmas cushion cover rabbit hole....

I finished my Snowman Christmas card cross stitch today so will start on the crochet Santa bag requested by my mum tomorrow Xmas Grin

I got mine from Amazon for about £11 probably five years ago now. Still going strong.

I'm going to look at non Christmas cushion covers...at that price I could change them monthly Grin

CrazyBaubles · 18/09/2021 21:23

Wreck I've currently have 24 cushion covers on my wish list 😂 I need to narrow them down, work out how many I can reasonably have and order them.

Also, good to know about the lights. I've seen some on Amazon but they are so cheap I'm worried they're going to be rubbish and break quickly.

Bedtime now...we watched the Biffy Glasgow Green gig on iPlayer so it was a later night than anticipated! Such a good gig. ❤️❤️

Meredith no plans sounds great. DH likes to organise 😀. The lights look fab. I make chilli jam to go with leftovers Fluffy.
Lachy-coffee in Booths would have been great but I am too far south. However, to console myself I have bought the GK Christmas bundle!

lachy · 19/09/2021 08:00

Shhh...Don't tell the northerners, but us southerners could always meet up in Fortnums Xmas Grin

I'm in Bucks, but a trip to Booths has been on my bucket list for as long as I've been on these threads.

NoWordForFluffy · 19/09/2021 08:07

You see, I have no interest in Fortnums as it's beyond my budget. Booths is just a really nice shopping experience, and they source loads of local supplies, which is great.

I've not been to Knutsford before, only past it on the motorway!

@pussycatlickinglollyices, are you going to join us at Booths?

OP posts:
lachy · 19/09/2021 08:50

yes! @pussycatlickinglollyices Come and meet up at Booths!

I may need you to push a trolley

NoWordForFluffy · 19/09/2021 09:03

I think Why and Woolly should do a road trip...it's only 122 miles! Xmas Grin

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 19/09/2021 09:52

Dd would like me to help with her homework and then bake a cake which is fine except she's currently sitting on her bum watching YouTube refusing to move. I think I'll just get on and bake without her as she seems to think I'm happy to just wait all day to do what she wants to do. I thought I had a few more years before the horrible selfish teenage behaviour Hmm

My sister bought one of the primark fake oodies and it looks amazing so I'm going to try and get some on Friday, they'll be good bulky presents. I find as the dc are getting older their presents are getting smaller and they don't look so impressive under the tree!

MeredithMae · 19/09/2021 11:20

@CrazyBaubles that cross stitch is amazing! Who will you give it to?

Having just googled Booths I realise I was miles wrong thinking it was like B&M Grin

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 19/09/2021 11:35

I am quite tempted with a road trip Fluffy. I would love to go to Booths. Will have to see what my rota is though as I can't book any holiday very easily in December and that far ahead isn't out yet.

NoWordForFluffy · 19/09/2021 11:55

It's only 1st, Why. It barely counts as December! Xmas Grin

OP posts:
whydoesitalwayshappentome · 19/09/2021 15:16

Haha Fluffy it hardly does but for annual leave terms it is a no.

CrazyBaubles · 19/09/2021 15:58

One day, if DH ever agrees, we're going to rent a cottage near MIL for Christmas (Yorkshire) and we'll order our Christmas dinner from Booths Xmas Smile

I'd like to try Fortnums too but not sure if I'll be able to convince DH or the friend I'm going to London with to spend the £££.

I might request a Primark Oodie for Christmas - I never know what to suggest when people ask what I'd like. So far I have that and the snow globe rum on my list.

Thanks Meredith. The snowman is for my friend - she has a medical issue that means she can't do much crafting so she asks me to make her something (anything) every years
My other cross stitch card if for the friend who got me in to cross stitching. And I think I'm going to make another for DHs grandmother - she's a fantastic crafter but has mentioned a few times that no-one ever makes her anything.

It is so hot and stuffy here today. I've got a fan on me it's that rubbish. High pollen too - my head feels fuzzy and awful 🤧

NoWordForFluffy · 19/09/2021 18:13

My new regime starts tonight: sensible bedtimes and up at 6.25 to go on the cross trainer! I want my trim middle back again, and the cross trainer is the only thing which achieves that. I assume it's to do with the movement while I'm on it! 🤷‍♀️

OP posts:
CrazyBaubles · 19/09/2021 22:26

I had similar plans for a decent early night but I've been thwarted. I heard something land next to my face when in bed around half hour ago. Turned my head to see big legs 🤢
Ran and switched the light on to see A fucking giant spider running across my pillow (excuse the swearing but I need to vent).

DH has dealt with it now but I'm all stressed and hyped so am accepting that I won't be sleeping well tonight.

NoWordForFluffy · 19/09/2021 22:40

Holy shit. You've bought a house inhabited by monster spiders. I think you need to move!
