My daughter is 21 today and just waiting for her to arrive to eat takeaway pizza and cake. Obviously she is bringing the guinea pigs with her bless their paws.

No matter what they say , guinea-pigs don't have cake . Unless its Guinea-Pig-Wedding-Cake (which is layered cucumber, peppers, parsley, peelings of carrots, thin apple sices and more cucumber )

I'm not a big card fan really. I do family ones for those people I don't really see (limited to a handful of people) but that's as far as it goes!

I'm secretly looking at Christmas cushions Wreck, but I'll need the stuffing too as we don't have any.
If I find them I'll have to hide them then present them as something we already had given the amount of lights etc I want to buy this year

I love doing cards - I have a few friends scattered around the country and DHs family are everywhere so I tend to do them over a few evenings because I put personal, thought out messages in most of them. I also love having a house full of cards, although between family, friends and then DHs class, we have a few too many.
I normally buy everything in the sales after Christmas but last year I was up to my eyeballs in boxes / packing and mortgage stress so missed it entirely.

I'm obviously missing a trick with the freezer. I thought once I got one it would be full but like I saw it only has frozen fruit and some peas!

Loaf of bread

1/2 a pack of mince

Oh I do have freezer blocks!

I've got one completely empty freezer. I'm going to get some ice cream and maybe stock up on DS's favourite pizza. Then see what batch cooking I can do in the next month or so.

I have a lot of food intolerances, biggest one being gluten but almost anything can set me off. I've never really thought about it before but that's probably why, I don't eat frozen foods (most of the time) as I don't know if what's in them is going to react, if that makes sense? This is free therapy

Loads of my stuff is homegrown. Nothing to trigger intolerance (my kids are lactose intolerant / CMPI and I have IBS).

You seem to be viewing 'frozen food' as an homogeneous pile of food. It isn't.

I didn't mean to cause offence. I was just thinking aloud and this thread isn't the place for it, sorry.

Thanks for the birthday wishes for my lovely girl. She had a great time and the guinea pigs yomped hay and went in their special run in the garden.

My freezers are mostly full of 'ingredients' to make up meals - meat, veggies, lemon zest, pesto, flatbread/pitta breads etc

Then I have a drawer in the inside freezer with leftovers/small portions of food I batch cooked for 10 month old DD for evenings when I can't be bothered to cook.

And a dessert drawer with ice cream/ice lollies/cookies that will bake from frozen.

We have dairy intolerance/allergies, and if anything that means I use the freezers more as I batch cook to ensure there are meals in, which are safe to eat.

It was soooo warm today. DS's last day of the school holidays, so we went out for the day then had pizza for tea. He went to bed a very happy little boy. I'm going to miss him. But I won't miss him following me around wittering about Minecraft while I am trying to get the baby to sleep!!

Be careful what you wish for Firefly. I had the whole Minecraft/DanTDM/Fortnite wittering and now he speaks in words of one syllable 😂

DD ( whom some of you may remember from GCSEs and A levels) graduated this year and started her first proper job today.
I've been back at school since 23 Aug but tbh I always get excited going back because this is the Christmas term

Popping in a comment to make sure I'm here. I've read 3 weeks worth of messages today, you guys are a chatty bunch. I'm sorry I'm so bad to remember who posted what but loved all the pictures of the Christmas trees on the last thread. Now that kids are back in school I'll hopefully have a bit more time to chip in here. Happy September folks x
