Anyone seen any voucher codes for smyths?

My folks desperately want to get my toddler (will be 2 on NYE) the John Deere ride on tractor but £129 is ALOT for a ride on toy that'll have to live outdoors!

Also just a heads up-as part of my job I was speaking to someone from a toy company yesterday. He says the stories about potential shortages aren't just scaremongering. So if there is something specific you want get it sooner rather than later!

AnotherOne4 · 27/08/2021 16:52

[quote CasparBloomberg]New to the Christmas board so don’t know is has been posted before. My kids (teens) love Typo. Fab store to browse if you have one nearby, way too expensive normally, a bit like Smiggle for teenagers.
Anyway, their sale is currently crazy prices and fab. Especially highly recommend the earbuds marked down from £30 to £6. My DD loves hers. Stationary always great quality and recently ordered bags and computer cases to go back to school and they’re great too. DS likes the socks as usually obscure cult references that appeal to his humour.

Had a quick look, and ooh it got me excited. Looking forward to having a good look about later Grin thanks for posting.

Has anyone actually ever received an order from Typo? I ordered over a week ago and not even a dispatch email along with terrible customer service, I should have listened to the reviews :(

Waveafterwaveslowlydrifting · 27/08/2021 16:57

I ordered from typo ages ago and it all arrived. Hope you get your order soon.

IveGotALovelyBunchOfCoconuts · 27/08/2021 17:02

I've ordered a few times and had no issues. Hope your stuff turns up soon!

Whoever was looking for Jura whisky, Asda have it on offer currently. I noticed while doing my shopping this morning and yes I took a photo specially to add to this post Grin

As you can see, one is £38 reduced to £25 and the other £30 reduced to £22, which seems good value to put away for Christmas.

@Laney79 thats such a shame was watching that on tv this morning.

Dogmatix34 · 27/08/2021 17:18

Just popping on to add to all the Bear & Rose praise, love the reindeer place names and so beautifully packaged. Also just collected my Prince Urban Decay palette. It’s so nice I’m keeping it for myself! Thanks so much.

Petal7 · 27/08/2021 17:19

I've also had several orders from Typo no problem. Hopefully yours will be with you soon

Wondering if I can pick your brains, please...

Anyone got any experience of a lovely book of positive quotes/affirmations for an early teen? Mine is having a bit of a wobble and I really want to boost her confidence.

Also, my middle football mad DD loves her ps4, but only has Fifa 20 and 21 (which she loves!). Any ideas for other good games? Or other football games?

Finally, my youngest is animal crazy, but I'm not sure I can cope with too many more soft toys! She's got a National Geographic Kids subscription, loads of animal books etc. Any other ideas or things that have been hits with your children , please? I did wonder about an animal experience, but so tricky with Covid.

Huge thanks!

Dogmatix34 · 27/08/2021 17:20

Also ordered from typo and had no issues. Hope yours turns up soon.

Caroloke · 27/08/2021 17:21

Ah cool thanks, hopefully then!

I'm keeping my eyes out for bargains, these threads are great.

DoucheCanoe · 27/08/2021 17:24

@Petal7 mine has asked for "big jigsaw with lots of animals to make that we can glue into a frame for her wall Confused"

I quite like the look of the Ravensburger XXL animal selfie range as the pictures are funny, maybe something like that?

sorryiasked · 27/08/2021 17:27

@Laney79 not sure if it's the same one as there are lots of variants but rideontoys have one for £104.99 - still not cheap but a bit better.

WisestIsShe · 27/08/2021 17:27

@Petal7 how about some small animals, schleich or similar?

queenoftheglee · 27/08/2021 17:27

@Caroloke I have ordered from typo previously. They were great and their customer services was fab.

@Petal7 my football mad 10 year old also has the PES games on his PlayStation. I am not sure how similar it is to the FIFA games though.

Finally a big thank you for the bear and rose recommendation. I ordered some gonks. They are a bargain and super cute. I am now trying to think of more people to buy them for!

CheesyChipsOnWembleyWay · 27/08/2021 17:30

Very decent 5.6% cashback on quidco for typo too. I love their bags, and the novelty cushions are really good quality for the sale price

Wolfcub · 27/08/2021 17:47

Balls wish I'd know about the cashback before I put my typo order in

Iknownothing · 27/08/2021 17:56

petal7 how about adopting an animal at a local zoo or wildlife place - they usually come with a cuddly version or other extras.
Also for your early teen - there is a book called - you are awesome by Matthew syed although it’s aimed slightly younger than teens. Or the boy, the mole, the fox and the horse by Charlie mackesy is a beautiful book

I8toys · 27/08/2021 18:06

I ordered from Typo last week just turned up today - no notifications of despatch or anything so expect them to just turn up.

Waveafterwaveslowlydrifting · 27/08/2021 18:07

Gonk 😁 I just like that word.

EvilHerbivore · 27/08/2021 18:12

Planning to go to Disney Paris early year (has been rearranged 3 times already) but they've cancelled all 'deals' due to loads of demand post Covid so it's costing nearly twice what was originally quoted (I'd cancel but I've stupidly told ASD DS2 so I can't change plans) so looking at a tight Christmas - anyway a load of waffle to say, does anyone know of things that 'bulk' up a present pile?
2 boys - 11 and 9
I've got a typo food cushion each so that is something that takes up a big of space but stuck for anything else? Missing the age where you could get a massive plastic thing for £20!

Stripeybunting · 27/08/2021 18:20

@Petal7 for your teen, “The boy, the mole, the fox and the horse” is a beautifully uplifting book.

IceCreamAndCandyfloss · 27/08/2021 18:21

Has anyone used Studio recently? I know you can bypass having a credit account and just do a one off order but when I last used them years ago they substituted the paper and cards I ordered. Looking for some wrapping paper that’s a decent size.

ItsAllBlahBlahBlah · 27/08/2021 18:34

@EvilHerbivore what about one of those inflatable boxing things that you can whack and it rocks about. You could wrap it blown up, two sets of boxing gloves
