Greetings folks, it’s that time again!

Starting a fresh for 2021, so if anyone has any specific links they’d like or think would be handy to add to the list for the next thread please do let me know.

Hope you’ve all had a better year so far than last year and here’s hoping things will be at a point for a more celebratory Christmas with friends and family (and lots of bargains) this year.

Annoyingly it doesn't remove shipping Sad @Arthien, haha it's like the cinnamon buns last year @dementedma

Laney79 · 05/08/2021 12:50

Checking in -hoping for the puppets again this year! Hopefully the farm ones this time! And anything suitable for a two year old boy! His birthday is NYE so December is expensive!!!

We're planning an international move in the Spring so I'm desperate not to buy tons of toys we can't take with us - it's really putting a cramp in my bargain-shopping this year!!

DS is 8 and doesn't like big gifts (just video games, books, etc) but DD is 5 and loves all toys (some of you may remember last year's big gift of the Barbie Dream House which my husband DIDN'T remotely hide and she discovered... 🤦‍♀️).

Any advice for how to navigate this one would be much appreciated! I may have to use some of the suggestions for 'bulking' out small present piles, but I'm worried DD will be massively disappointed!

Found my people. I love Christmas! Praying we can be with family this year. We didn’t have our proper family get together til April like lots of people. Looking forward to all your tips.

@Chocolateemergency

What are you all ordering from poundtoy? I never know what is an actual bargain on sites like this.
I've ordered a few stocking fillers plus fake scratch cards and fake parking tickets for my older teens Grin

@oatmilkisntsobad

Does anyone have any recommendations for a weighted blanket? I'd like to buy one for my adult son who has difficulty sleeping
blanket

I have this one and recommend it lots.

oatmilkisntsobad · 05/08/2021 13:39

Thanks @PepperPepperMan

oatmilkisntsobad · 05/08/2021 13:40

Now how did those speech marks get there?!

KimonoKim · 05/08/2021 13:42

Checking in 🎄

Daisy829 · 05/08/2021 13:57

Online home store have weighted blankets on sale atm. I got one last year and it’s really good.

ShoppingBasket · 05/08/2021 14:11

Can anyone recommend somewhere that I can get an official Kermit puppet. I have seen some on Amazon but reviews say they aren't great or not official. Please Smile

PepperPepperMan · 05/08/2021 14:13

This year I would like to use a cash back site. Any recommendations or links please?

yafilthyanimalandahappynewyear · 05/08/2021 14:18

Woohoo! 🎄 Thank you Reasty!
Not a bargain (by any shot) but I have pre ordered the new Nintendo Switch OLED. It's for my six year old who will be almost seven by Christmas and has wanted a Switch for a while.
I was worried they'd be hard to get hold of by December so might be worth pre ordering for others.

PinkJam · 05/08/2021 14:21

Thank you for the thread! So many friendly and kind hearted people on here. Look forward to it each year Smile

Doghairismyglitter · 05/08/2021 14:27

If anyone sees any good deals on smart TVs (I think that’s what they’re called Confused) please can you post? I have a really old small tv and looking to get one that can put Netflix and Youtubekids on etc for the little ones, I’m not very tech savvy but hoping for a good deal sometime. My plan is for them to have it as a pre Xmas present 1st December so we can watch all the Christmas movies etc ❤️

You reply using Quote. It’s really helpful.

Any room for a long time lurker, I promise I don't take up much room but do an insane amount of shopping. I need all the help I can get 😆

HoHoJ0 · 05/08/2021 14:47

@PepperPepperMan I’ve been using TopCashback for years and always been very happy. I do use Quidco too but I’m the whole have earnt much more via topcashback. I’d you go to the mumsnet referral thread there are some referrals to choose from (including mine at the end) which I think will get you a bonus.

Arthien · 05/08/2021 14:48

I may have found a slightly less cost-effective solution to the hot chocolate shaker delivery charges... bought a present from me to me

Arthien · 05/08/2021 14:51

If anyone else is looking at the hot choc shaker, I added to basket and started to check out, left it for a while then got an email saying if I put 'FREEGIFT' into the comments/gift message text box (not the discount code box), I'd get a free bar of choc!

PinkJam · 05/08/2021 14:52

@Funkopopper Welcome Smile you’ll fit right in!

NoWordForFluffy · 05/08/2021 15:09

I've put my TopCashback and Quidco referral links on the referral thread.

ItsAllBlahBlahBlah · 05/08/2021 15:18

Wow a hot chocolate shaker. That's negative calories right.... I mean you have to work for it...
