Greetings folks, it’s that time again!

Starting a fresh for 2021, so if anyone has any specific links they’d like or think would be handy to add to the list for the next thread please do let me know.

Hope you’ve all had a better year so far than last year and here’s hoping things will be at a point for a more celebratory Christmas with friends and family (and lots of bargains) this year.

Thank you for the tinc link for the adventure calendars. Such a good bargain. They actually had a few things in their sale, which were really reduced, so got a few stocking fillers

Voiceofreason92 · 12/08/2021 09:15

@Avoca72
Loads of panda themed stuff in Ryman. Lots in the sale too including a water bottle and a lunch box in the 3for2

I know last year there was a lot of talk about Japanese snack boxes. Could anyone recommend a decent one?

clpsmum · 12/08/2021 09:19

Ricekrispie22 · 12/08/2021 09:55

Some 50% discounts on experiences. I’ve bought this as a joint present for the in laws, This paintballing experience for my nephew and this photo shoot for my niece.

Thanks everyone it's great to see us all coming together for this Smile

My LO is into princesses and wants a castle- the frozen big castle and Disney princess appeal to her so much- has anyone got one? These are both £120 and £150 so not cheap (no kitchens etc) I much prefer a wooden doll house but she doesn't!

If anyone sees anything princess/ girly please share.

Thank you.

Wait4nothing · 12/08/2021 10:19

@pinknail
The mellissa and Doug wooden ones look nice. This is the bigger one [Melissa & Doug Folding Princess Castle - Multi-Coloured here] and the smaller is about £38 - you could then find small figures of her fave princesses and could add as her interests change.

@TheGriffle

Thanks *@sideorderofchips for the prequels and @Reastie* for the first thread.

No bargains to add as yet but after some advice please!
How do you manage when one child has a pile of massive boxes and the elder ones doesn’t look as impressive?!
Dd1 is 8 and not really into toys any more but her sister is 4 and everything looks like a big present in massive packaging and I’m struggling how to manage dd1’s expectations when she sees her sisters bigger pile even though we’re spending roughly the same. I’ve started planting the seed already that her sisters presents come in big boxes and hers might be smaller but more expensive but don’t know if that’s enough.

Put in practical things Eg new duvet set, big furry bed throw, nice new towel or towelling robe, fancy bed cushions, small wheelie suitcase for sleepovers etc, new fancy wellies in the cardboard box, some cheapish outside toys eg swingball . All of those are biggish to wrap, will be used and can bulk out her pile of things she really wants and not too expensive.

AnnaSW1 · 12/08/2021 10:57

@pinknail how old is your daughter?

My 4 yr old has the Lego Duplo Frozen castle and plays a lot with it alongside the Minnie house Lego Duplo house and cafe.

AnnaSW1 · 12/08/2021 11:02

*minnie Mouse

pinknail · 12/08/2021 11:35

@AnnaSW1 thank you shes 4 too! She was bought the frozen diplomas castle last Christmas and loves it! I'll take a look at Minnie Mouse diploma thank you. The next age up Lego sets look a bit old for her still so happy to stick with the duplo type.

pinknail · 12/08/2021 11:37

@Wait4nothing thanks so much, I'll have a look now. Hadn't seen that make.
Will see if it will fit her barbie size princesses rather than re stock on smaller ones!

pinknail · 12/08/2021 11:58

Tip
if anyone is ordering toys from the entertainer and it doesn't reach the £25 to get £5 off, I have just looked through the offers section (filtering lowest price first) to make my order up to £25 to get the discount someone on here mentioned
SAVE5

Thank you.

Just a heads up for any build a bear fans. They have a sale on at the moment. I bought a giant build a bear for 33 pound and its 91cm - that's the main present for ds sorted (have bought loads of teddies and surprises) he's boy into big stuff.

Beaglemum93 · 12/08/2021 12:04

Play Doh 40 pack for £10 at asda.

MrsPumpkinSeed · 12/08/2021 12:04

In regards to making presents look bigger. I have bought inflatable toys - usually in the summer to bulk up presents.
Also large selection boxes. New school bag etc

katmarie · 12/08/2021 12:05

I'm looking for a good non chocolate advent calendar for a just 4yo, he had the Thomas the tank engine one last year with the mini trains and loved it, still plays with the trains now. Anyone have any suggestions?

katmarie · 12/08/2021 12:09

@TwinsandTrifle

Stockings, I'm actually looking for some lovely ones that can be personalised with each person's initial, quite large. Has anyone seen anything around?
www.dibor.co.uk/personalised-luxury-nordic-tree-stocking.html we have these, but not personalised, I bought some wooden initial tags from Etsy, and just tied them on the hanging loop.
dreamsofacres · 12/08/2021 12:41

The frozen castle was at £70 last week on Amazon so worth putting an alert on it or putting it into your shopping basket and just checking daily to see if it drops again
