Greetings folks, it’s that time again!

Starting a fresh for 2021, so if anyone has any specific links they’d like or think would be handy to add to the list for the next thread please do let me know.

Hope you’ve all had a better year so far than last year and here’s hoping things will be at a point for a more celebratory Christmas with friends and family (and lots of bargains) this year.

I’ve changed my name so many times I have no idea what it was last year, but, I’m so happy to see this thread.

It’s such a lovely place to be and makes me feel all warm and happy inside!

Thanks Reastie.

Can I ask for some assistance please? I am very sleep deprived and can’t get my brain to work!

I’m thinking of getting dd a CD player for her room and audiobooks that she can listen to at night to help her sleep, can anyone recommend a bargainous one at all? A quick glance on Amazon and the CD players look so expensive!

Also for the car is there a device that she can listen to Spotify with earphones I can’t figure out what we would need for her to do that? There’s probably a really easy solution but I can’t think today.

NoWordForFluffy · 10/08/2021 19:56

@TheGriffle, functional, not pretty, but will do the job nicely!

CupoTeap · 10/08/2021 20:14

Hello everyone
Hope you are all well.
No ideas yet here, but defo scaling down on toys and stuff and possibly looking at experiences

PattyPan · 10/08/2021 20:21

@oatmilkisntsobad a bit more spendy but this site has them as sets with the ladles and a little recipe book www.souschef.co.uk/products/japanese-ramen-bowl-set they do also sell the ladles separately for £4.99 which doesn't seem too bad though

YouveBeenLittUp · 10/08/2021 20:24

The works have lots of Cocomelon things for anyone who's little ones like Cocomelon

Mustangsallyis · 10/08/2021 20:27

@oatmilkisntsobad

Any recommendations for a lovely ramen bowl please?
Would any of these work? www.rexlondon.com/search/site/Japanese%20salad%20bowl
oatmilkisntsobad · 10/08/2021 20:36

Thanks @PrettyPan and @MustangSallyin I've ordered the one recommended earlier which is a shame as I paid postage on it and could have got one from Rex had I seen them as I put in an order there yesterday and paid postage there as well!
All these postage costs are really adding up!

@TheGriffle CD’s are fast becoming a thing if the past. Kindles often go for much less on Black Friday and you can download audio books.
TheGriffle · 10/08/2021 20:42

Thank you for the cd ideas! I was toying with the idea of an Alexa and an audible subscription but thought she might like the physicality of a CD player.

NoWordForFluffy · 10/08/2021 21:27

Our kids love their CD players. And cheap CDs from Music Magpie!

PattyPan · 10/08/2021 21:31

IWOOT have got some good deals on Lego that are quite a bit cheaper than Amazon in some cases, including Batman set 76160 for £49.99 which Amazon have on for £63

IWOOT have a referral scheme, 20% off your first order, happy to DM you if you'd like a link?
Fuckingfuckssake · 10/08/2021 21:57

I've pooped a link on the referral thread, some people didn't experience the best customer care last year as I recall? I haven't had any issues as yet though.

PattyPan · 10/08/2021 22:06

Thanks @Fuckingfuckssake I actually did order from them last year and my only issue was that my order was slightly late but I ordered it very last minute so presume it got caught in the postal rush - not an issue with ordering in August! Smile

Raindancer411 · 10/08/2021 22:14

@Oliveandsage Oh wow, the Thurrock Disney was the first one I ever went in!! I take it the bluewater one is staying open??

Oliveandsage · 10/08/2021 22:18

@Raindancer411 I believe so! I went there last week, was no notices about closures. However, The lakeside staff seemed really upset when I went in there, and when I asked the lady who served me said they only got a few days notice that it was going to close!

Oliveandsage · 10/08/2021 22:20

@Raindancer411 wait I’ve just googled, apparently all UK stores are closing apart from Oxford street in London and Dublin!

Notlongnow1 · 10/08/2021 22:23

@thegriffle we have a yoto player and would highly recommend. Could also be taken in car, if secured safely. You still have the physicality of cards to insert but not as easily damaged/jumpy as cds. You can also make your own. Not sure how old your daughter is. We originally bought for my now 3 year old when she was 2. And 5yo has asked for one for his birthday. Can see both being used for a long time to come.

ByThePool2021 · 10/08/2021 22:29

@TheGriffle my dc all have Alexa’s in the rooms so they can play music, listen to the radio or play audiobooks whenever they like (Alexa will even tell them a story, tell jokes and make fart noises). CDs just get scratched and broken but then I also hate clutter.

Bicnod · 10/08/2021 22:42

I finally have a bargain to share! Keep + Kind half price sale www.keepandkind.com/collections/sale some lovely bits for teen stockings plus some nice looking candles.
