Greetings folks, it’s that time again!

Starting a fresh for 2021, so if anyone has any specific links they’d like or think would be handy to add to the list for the next thread please do let me know.

Hope you’ve all had a better year so far than last year and here’s hoping things will be at a point for a more celebratory Christmas with friends and family (and lots of bargains) this year.

Thanks for the Typo link! Forgot I'd got loads of bits last year on the back of a Typo link. Got the 16 yo birthday bits I needed plus a teen Xmas gift and their fabulous socks for my boys' stockings. They're normally £6 each but loads at 3 for £5- bargain! They're a bit irreverent/ cheeky so perfect for teens. I love their stuff.

Whittards summer sale has started, up to 50% off.

Fabuleuse · 10/08/2021 11:40

Some bargain Meccano in the Entertainer sale. I got a robot for £14.99 supposedly with £25 off and the Intro to Robotics building kit. www.thetoyshop.com/brands/meccano

@Puffalicious
I am on Typo site at the moment. But can’t check out !

Thegirlhasnoname · 10/08/2021 11:50

Might’ve just bought myself some mugs in the Whittards sale to join the already overflowing mug cupboard. Here’s hoping the dates are good on the gifts I got too 🤞

Scout2016 · 10/08/2021 11:52

Smiggle has a sale on. Never looked at them before, it's been interesting!

Puffalicious · 10/08/2021 11:54

Oh no Trumpton! I had no issues. Can you save basket and go back in? How irritating!

By the by, free delivery over £30, folks, or £1 extra for express which I think is a bargain.

Araisaris · 10/08/2021 11:56

@Doghairismyglitter this i-spy-series of books are good BOOK

OldTinHat · 10/08/2021 11:58

Late to the party here and no useful contributions but I've received the £4 lego racing car from Amazon (another bashed up box but it's for my 22yr old DS so he won't mind!) and have also ordered several of the board games from The Entertainer that were listed here for various family members, just had a text to say they're ready to collect so I'll be bumbling to the shop in a minute. Thanks for this fabulous thread!

Can anyone recommend a good way of wrapping an expensive mug? I bought Emma Bridgewater mugs last Xmas but ended up giving something else to those people. I still have them and plan on using them for gifts this year. They were still pricey but I think they look a bit meh just wrapped in tissue , not as special as they should look for the price really. I thought at the time EB might have lovely, branded boxes but they didn't. Any suggestions/ boxes I can buy to make them look special? One will be a single gift, the other a matching pair. Thanks.

Jumpingintosummer · 10/08/2021 12:09

Thanks @Yeknom, unfortunately none in my local.

@Daisy829 and @StarfishSleeper I will check those out, thanks.

RagamuffinCat · 10/08/2021 12:10

When I have gave mugs as presents, I made a sort of mini hamper with some hot chocolate sachets and mini marshmallows and put them in a box rather than wrapping in paper.

Jumpingintosummer · 10/08/2021 12:12

@Puffalicious I got some for teacher gifts last year in the offer. I put a small bar of Green and blacks in plus marshmallows and instructions for making hot chocolate. Got brown mug boxes from Amazon and decorated with ribbon and a pretty tag.

Jumpingintosummer · 10/08/2021 12:13

Ah cross post with. @RagamuffinCat.

Mummyoply · 10/08/2021 12:17

Thanks @SIHastingsLiketheBattle Smile

Puffalicious · 10/08/2021 12:19

Thanks Ragamuffin and Jumping I like the brown box idea with, perhaps, special tea or coffee and a small bar of choc. I'll get looking for those.

AntonMeyersNo1Fan · 10/08/2021 12:22

@Puffalicious I thought so Grin when it came up on mine I followed the link and thought it worth sharing Grin

NewtScamandersNiffler · 10/08/2021 12:31

@MrsBungle

Does it need to be branded Harry Potter wizard chess?

If not, the one used by Ron and Harry in the first film is a Lewis chessmen set. I'm sure there are cheaper replicas and NM Scotland has good ideas from the shop

Keeping my eyes peeled for Kukubird offers this year, remember there being lots last Christmas (when my daughter would only wear dresses...)

Mommabear20 · 10/08/2021 13:27

@greyinganddecaying we're getting one for our Dd who will be 18 months at Christmas!

Mommabear20 · 10/08/2021 13:32

Not discounted, but if anyone is looking for gifts for a tea lover, I just ordered one of these for my DF gf, 30 twinnings tea bags on different flavours, all individually wrapped for £12.99! Plan to make them into a mini hamper with a nice Christmas mug and some fluffy socks!

If you get some Christmas tissue paper then some florists cellophane, you could do it like this

I've just had a Typo binge. perfect for teens. I went via Quidco and got another 5.6% cash back too.
SkintSanta · 10/08/2021 14:09

So happy we are back! No idea for the Xmas gift list this year, but so far a basket full on typo and Rex for the usual stocking fillers at bargain prices. Bring on the bargains 🔥
