Well done wreck. I had 8 hours but with a very long chunk of uninterrupted sleep so my Fitbit has given me an excellent score which I am strangely proud of. Makes such a difference on the occasional nights that DS sleeps through.

pussycatlickinglollyices · 12/08/2021 08:15

I got woken up around midnight by some noisy twat shouting outside. Angry
Then I woke up at 4.15, thought it said 5.45 wasn't wearing my glasses so got up. 🤦🏻‍♀️
Wreck Homework? in the summer hols? Shock Poor kid!

WreckTangled · 12/08/2021 08:30

Yes, secondary school have given them maths, literacy and science to do before they start Hmm

NoWordForFluffy · 12/08/2021 08:32

Morning!

Wreck, ditch the homework! She doesn't even have a school she attends, so it's a hard no from me! #rebel

It's gorgeously sunny here. Hurrah!

Puss, we get noisy twats round here. Loud John who lives next door and Zippy 1 and Zippy 2 across the road are noisy all the time. Then there are also night time twats too. Sigh.

My ankle hurts. It was fine and I did nothing other than stand up without issue. Now it's weak at the joint. Weird. 🤷‍♀️

WreckTangled · 12/08/2021 08:46

No way it's for the new school. Won't make a good first impression if she hasn't done the first pieces of homework ever set!

Uh oh re the ankle. That's what happened to me and in the end I couldn't walk for over two weeks.

NoWordForFluffy · 12/08/2021 09:01

I think that's shit of them. Has she actually got to hand it in?

After the two awful years they've had, just give them a break, FFS. Between that and the uniform, I've decided I don't like that school!

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 12/08/2021 09:19

Yep. Collected, reviewed and rewards given apparently.

There's something in our wall cavity in the kitchen. I thought it might be birds outside pecking but nothing there Hmm nightmare.

pussycatlickinglollyices · 12/08/2021 11:13

DH has been up a ladder fannying about with the gutters called me over and spat out his crown into my hand. 🤢
I don't do teeth particularly well...
Anyway, I've phoned the dentist and left a message (he thinks they can just stick it back in).
Looks like soup for lunch...

NerosFiddle · 12/08/2021 11:42

Puss 🤢.

pussycatlickinglollyices · 12/08/2021 12:02

Normal dentist won't answer the phone, so we tried elsewhere and he's got a private appointment at one in town this afternoon!
We're going to swap dentists permanently, as the "current" soon to be ex dentist is a 20mile round trip. It's one DH used about 25yrs ago on a Saturday as an emergency, possibly for the same blinkin' tooth! 🤦🏻‍♀️
You can see there's a theme here...🦷🤷🏻‍♀️

pussycatlickinglollyices · 12/08/2021 12:07

He's pacing around and all excited because "it's somewhere new" and not a supermarket 😂😂 🤦🏻‍♀️ how did I marry such a weirdo???

Nero it was v 🤢 grim...I really don't like teeth.

WreckTangled · 12/08/2021 12:20

My crown came off a few years ago and they stuck it back on after taking an X-ray to check it was all ok still. Has been fine ever since Smile I too hate teeth and having it fall out (after a particularly heavy handed facial) was like reliving the many nightmares of all my teeth falling out.

pussycatlickinglollyices · 12/08/2021 12:34

Wreck I'll admit, once I got over the horror of having the stumpy thing in my hand, I immediately wanted to chuck it away! Luckily he made me wrap it up and keep it...It would have been quite a nasty job, fishing it out of the bin. 🤢🤦🏻‍♀️

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 12/08/2021 12:39

You will be pleased to know puss that my knobs are no longer hot!! 🤣

The weather is good here again and I am trying to catch up on my washing back log.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 12/08/2021 14:25

Well puss at least he didn't swallow it (that would be a nasty job getting it back , worse than a bin by a long shot )

I went to Costco today , I tried yesterday but there was a massive hold up on the road and I really CBA sitting in traffic to bailed out .

DH volunteered to go with me but I know he was relieved when I said I'd be fine . The trolleys there glide even fully laden.
And I didn't look at the Hallowe'en stock !

I did like a big saute pan but not suitable for Induction. hob .

pussycatlickinglollyices · 12/08/2021 14:53

70 we joked about him swallowing it - he'd be on his own with that particular job.

Anyway, 'tis all fixed - nothing too chewy for 24hrs, so he's having soup. New dentist is £120 quid richer. STBX Dentist hasn't phoned back yet...

why I'm so glad your knobs are cool 😹

NoWordForFluffy · 12/08/2021 19:45

Just think how clean his stomach acid could get the teeth, Puss! 😱🤣 But yeah, glad he didn't swallow it. That's lasted well for a crown, as the average life span is below the age of that one! (Don't even ask how / why I know this fact!)

Cool knobs are definitely preferable, IMO.

I have to say that I have no real interest in Costco. I joined for a year once, but probably wouldn't bother again. It's a trek to Liverpool that I don't need to do!

Oh, just booked my flu jab for 25 Sept. It's at Lloyds Chemist in Sainsbury's. At least I'm getting in early this year!

OP posts:
TheWoollybacksWife · 12/08/2021 20:08

I don't know what to do about my flu jab this year. We've had them for a few years now and pay for them. Last year we had them around about the time that it was announced that they'd be free for over 50's. We were contacted by the Drs surgery to book in for our free jabs about 10 weeks after we'd actually had them. The same free jab applies this year and we'll be getting a Covid booster too - it's been mentioned that it will be one in each arm at the same appointment. Joy. I'm assuming that the roll out will happen following the Covid priority list so we could potentially be looking at Christmas time as it took roughly 3 months to get to my age group 🤷🏻‍♀️ but it looks like we need to wait and see...

NoWordForFluffy · 12/08/2021 20:09

You can book for free as over-50s at the chemist, so you could do that. I didn't think you were meant to have the Covid jab within 2 weeks of the flu jab though?!

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 12/08/2021 20:18

I think that's old advice fluffy, they said it when the vaccine first came out and they weren't sure how it would react with the flu one. Woolly I would book it at the chemist ASAP for free and then at least that's done. I think the boosters might take a little longer to come around for your age group, I month be wrong but at least if it's booked in you know it's there but can still cancel if need be.

TheWoollybacksWife · 12/08/2021 20:43

This is what's bamboozling me. I can book a flu jab from the twenty something of next month but the latest info seems to say that both jabs will be given together so I don't want to cock up my booster.

I'm off to the pharmacy tomorrow morning (suspect I might have a UTI) so I'll see what they can advise.

WreckTangled · 12/08/2021 20:47

Good idea. I don't think it'll matter if they're given together or apart but I'm not expert Grin I'm guessing I'll get mine through work in October some time. I'll be eligible for the flu jab before they get down to my priority for the Covid booster at the doctors surgery, I'm not sure how it's going to work, glad I'm not running it.

NoWordForFluffy · 12/08/2021 21:18

I was asked if I'd had the flu jab recently when I had both jabs, Wreck. The last wasn't that long ago. Why are they still asking if it's not relevant? Weirdos! 😂

You can just tell the nurse you've had the flu jab already, Woolly. They won't foist a second on you! 😁

Can I please have a less eventful day today? 😂
I've booked us in at Sainsburys for flu jabs. DH wanted to wait and go to the surgery, but I've decided to book back-to-back ones instead and I can shop while he's jabbed 🤭 I can't see the covid booster being rolled out for under 60s (him) and just under 50s (me) by the end of Sept.
