I have two knackered bras which I'm still wearing for now as I detest bra shopping too. I might try to hold out until Double Up and buy from Sainsbury's!

We're forecast rain in a bit, but dry from early afternoon.

I buy from Bravissimo as I am very generous in the bust department and nowhere else seems to fit them properly. Have requested a zoom fitting so I don't have to go into Cardiff.

FoolShapeHeart · 08/08/2021 10:02

I can recommend Molke bras, they go up to an LL or M depending on band size (46 or 48) & are way comfier than the usual.

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 08/08/2021 11:09

Thanks Fool will check them out :)

WreckTangled · 08/08/2021 11:57

Crazy she's awful. Miserable all the time and just shouts at me. She's also decided she doesn't want to do piano anymore but the only reason is because she's finding it hard. No shit, she never practices! She's so lazy she just lies and watches tv or reads all day. Makes me so cross. I'm dreading the next six years.

pussycatlickinglollyices · 08/08/2021 12:59

Wreck have you had a chat on neutral ground? is there something she'd rather do instead? She's growing up quickly and she's probably never going near a piano again given the choice so she needs to find other interests before, erm, boys happen.

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 08/08/2021 13:09

I wouldn't force the piano, I was forced to carry on with activities and it just made me hate them even more. Is there something else she is interested in doing? I also wouldn't worry about the reading, I spent most of my childhood with my nose in a book :)

WreckTangled · 08/08/2021 13:44

I'm not worried about the reading I'm just fed up of the rudeness and grumpiness all the time and thinking everyone is to blame for everything apart from herself. She loves playing piano she just doesn't like having to actually put effort in, she's used to finding things (like school) easy so as soon as she finds something a bit tricky she wants to give up.

NoWordForFluffy · 08/08/2021 14:22

If lessons cause her to hate it like they did for me then I think they're counterproductive. Much better to play for fun than give up because forced practice has made you hate it, IMO.

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 08/08/2021 14:24

She doesn't hate it, she loves being able to play just wants to give up the second she has to do something that she doesn't get straight away. She's only saying she wants to quit because she made a few mistakes.

CrazyBaubles · 08/08/2021 15:50

I also did piano and wanted to quit when I was around 13yo. In the end I compromised with my parents - I kept doing the lessons because I enjoyed playing but I stopped doing exams because I hated the pressure.
A few years later I decided to do a some of the exams on my own and I still play now, I find it so relaxing (although I rarely play at the mo as no room to have a piano or keyboard set up anywhere).

Weather has held off here (for now) so I've just had a relaxing hour cross stitching (I'm doing a Christmas card) while DH went on his kayak.
We're in North Wales now - most are you fully prepared for the accent? DH keeps muttering about the welsh language differences here 🙄

Oh I forgot to say, we saw dolphins the other day while at New Quay! 🐬

WreckTangled · 08/08/2021 16:24

It doesn't help that it's been zoom lessons for 18 months, I think that's really put a dampener on it.

Ah dolphins! That's so cool.

pussycatlickinglollyices · 08/08/2021 19:30

Crazy I've spent sooo many of my formative years around Anglesey and Caernarfon that I know the Gog accent better than dahn sahf (I watch Pobol y Cwm with subtitles) You're right, there really is quite a difference - I don't speak Welsh, but do understand a little bit.

I do wonder about the roots of Welsh and Celtic (Scots) for "English" Sassenach v Saesneg - get your DH to ponder that one...

I'm still 1/4 Welsh via both grannies.

pussycatlickinglollyices · 08/08/2021 19:42

actually one granny was born (just) in Wales but her parents were both Londoners...Pimlico...Which reminds me, I might need to renew my passport Smile

NoWordForFluffy · 08/08/2021 20:25

My nan was from London (north, I think, Why might recall better). No Welsh blood I'm aware of, however.

Oh, well...we must be distant cousins or something! 😂😂

WreckTangled · 09/08/2021 06:17

So much rain again! I thought the river would be over but it isn't yet. After today the weather looks nice. Going to try and persuade ds to go on a rainy walk later than watch a Christmas film. Bet he won't but worth a go!

You never know! 🤣😂🤣😂

Apparently dry here today. The ground is damp from overnight, but I don't think the rain actually came to much.

I'm knackered after this weekend. I weeded my leeks, plus a few other areas I got distracted by, dug up my last first earlies (which have grown into maincrop due to being left in the ground, which is ideal as I now have Christmas spuds!) and harvested many beans / courgettes / apples.

When I got home, I weeded the driveway and cleared the old poppies and some weeds from the back garden too. And after dinner I cleaned the kitchen etc as well. I've barely sat down all weekend!

I have a plumber!!!!
🎉

He's put the heating on, so it's like the blinkin' Caribbean in here! 🥵
Send Ice!

lachy · 09/08/2021 16:54

Aloha!

Waving at you all, and am now going to catch up on the last week Xmas Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 09/08/2021 21:26

Has it cooled down yet, Puss?! 🥵

It's been quiet this last week, lachy. Shouldn't take too long to catch up!

OP posts:
pussycatlickinglollyices · 10/08/2021 06:23

It cooled down, but I haven't completely...he didn't replace the valve! He just fiddled with it, took the knob off the top (so it's just the pin sticking up) and it works. He put it back together and said it "might" be ok and to let them know if it wasn't so they could come back and drain then flush the system before replacing the valve.
We've has 2 go already, and know you can replace valves without doing any of that.
Anyway. We've taken the top off and it works ok so it'll do and we'll get a different plumber next time!
🤬

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 10/08/2021 06:36

Morning folks.

Nan was from Battersea Fluffy and Puss.

I have swapped my Thursday shift for today as we are short staffed and as usual regretting my life choices 🤣

NoWordForFluffy · 10/08/2021 07:39

137

Ah. One of those types of plumber, Puss!

Maybe I never knew where nan was from as Battersea rings no bells at all! 🙈🤣😂

It's nice here this morning. We're watching the swallows zoom about outside in the peace before the kids get up.

The kids had the dentist yesterday and all is fine. Even DD still not having lost a tooth at age 8! 😂🤣

Sainsbury's delivery soon. All is being delivered. Miracles!

I'm taking ds to the cinema today. Dd is back here after a fraught phone call last night but is going back for lunch today as I have plans. I knew she wouldn't be able to stay away from us. Ds is most disappointed.

Almost ten days of sun forecast now, although not particularly hot (22°).

I want to do an Ocado shop but can't find any new shop offers anywhere Angry they do lots of low carb things I could do with stocking up on.
