Poor ddog Crazy Sad
When our guinea-pigs needed antibiotics they had to have probiotics as well, but they have complicated digestive systems . They cannot vomit and very loose pooh is not good for a piggie .

Cooker is an AEG Induction hob.
Stainless steel with black . I did like the all black one but as I dithered , it was out of stock. Current cooker is stainless steel so it won't look too different . It'll just work and have dials I can read Xmas Grin

Milk Loaf is delicious , bit denser/chewier than regular white but not sweet .

My DS (the one who is very judgey of my Christmas Traditions) has suddenly decided he needs a New Tradition of Piza Dough Saturday .
If I show him how it all works and give him the recipe he can try it out himself .

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 08/05/2021 16:37

Ah , Fluffy you've gone from your posts being highlighted in a greenbox to not (as you're OP name in this is the WeeDonkey name )

DS is faffing about with pizza now .
I'm going to bake some Brownies for DD (if she's good ) Xmas Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 08/05/2021 16:41

DH is doing pizza AND curry right now! I'm doing cross stitch.

70, I'm always green to me, whatever name I choose! Xmas Grin

What toppings is your DS having?

NoWordForFluffy · 08/05/2021 16:46

No. Pink to me. 🙈

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 08/05/2021 18:14

He's having grated cheese and a tomatoe sauce . DS isn't one for new fangled food , he's very basic
Chicken is roast (like a Carvery style) or breadcrumbed .
No curry , creamy sauce or the like .

He's only recently started eating pasta !

He has always been like this all his life .

CrazyBaubles · 08/05/2021 19:27

Thanks for the concern about DDog. 70 I think probiotics would probably have been a good idea - he had a week of anti-inflammatories, then general anaesthetic followed by another week of anti-inflammatories, pain relief and antibiotics. He's been through the ringer but at the same time, he won't stop bloody eating! 🙄

I used to be very similar to you DS - didn't like pasta, liked everything plain or with ketchup just like my mum It became a different story when I started learning to cook properly in uni.

Fluffy I was a bit thrown when you said you are green to you because I'm pink to me 😂

Had a slight change of plan here and decided to go shopping with DH. Went to Aldi, Sainsburys, Pets at Home and the local greengrocers.
Have decided that we want to eat less meat but the meat we do have we want to be higher welfare so have been looking at various farms / butchers, ideally will be local but if it's online we'll have a look if anyone has any recommendations?

TheWoollybacksWife · 08/05/2021 19:58

Crazy I use Riverford for my veg delivery (free delivery but £15 minimum spend). They do organic fruit and vegetables and also have an organic meat range. I'm really happy with the butcher I use but the Riverford meat seems to be very popular with certain items selling out really quickly. If you are interested in signing up I have a referral code - once you've had one delivery we both get £15 credit.

I did have to sit on a waiting list for a while before I was added to the customer list. It's a national company but they use local organic suppliers (in an electric van so much less noisy than my milkman) 😀

Morning!

Weird weather day yesterday, as the late afternoon was lovely and sunny, after the morning's monsoon, but chilly in the wind. Then more rain later on. Today is meant to be dry, thankfully.

DH is coming to the allotment with me to help me build a fence. My poor crops get damaged by the wind, so this will be a wind break to try to help stop it.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 09/05/2021 19:58

Urgh I felt achey , sore joints and generally bleurgh but no coughing sneezing or temperature .
Griping cramps ( I have IBS anyway and it looks like its trying to flare up Xmas Hmm )
Had some painkillers Buscopan and very light non fatty non carby food .

DH has done some garden pootering , mowed the lawn( old bit) watered the new lawn.

I had a long hot bath and just moped about in my robe like the ghost of Jacob Marley Xmas Grin

WreckTangled · 09/05/2021 20:15

We went to Wakehurst today, it's the sister site of Kew, it's lovely and we will definitely go back.

I've walked so much this week I'm pretty sore, 94000 steps all week! I'm not used to doing that much.

NoWordForFluffy · 10/05/2021 06:52

Morning!

70, I hope you're feeling better. I have IBS too and the cramping can be unreal. Thankfully mine doesn't flare too often.

Wreck, I ache from digging and general labour. We put our partial fence up which required big holes digging for the posts and they were then whacked in. Fun, but ouch. I had to dig the posts out from where I was taking them first too.

I'm a broken women! 😂

NoWordForFluffy · 10/05/2021 06:52

Woman. Singular.

CrazyBaubles · 10/05/2021 10:56

Morning.

Thank you woolly - I would like to take you up on that when we do our next meat order (we currently have enough in the freezer for the month).

Fluffy and Wreck I hope your aching muscles feel better soon.

I think Ddog can join you with being exhausted. We walked to FILs for lunch, then around the boating lake and along the river to get home. Wasn't a massive walk (around 3.5 miles) but I think it's probably his limit now so he spent all afternoon and evening snoring.

I'm supposed to be having my patio laid this week but it's forecast rain on and off every day 🙄

SpnBaby1967 · 10/05/2021 11:05

Oooh, can i join? I didnt even realise the 2021 Xmas thread was up and running already Grin

Its my sons 10th birthday today, I now have 2 children in double figures. The last one will join them next year, so she can stay my baby for a little longer.

I'm trying to get all my sofa covers washed and dried inbetween showers at the moment, bloody pain in the backside this weather is at the moment. I cant tumble them and I resent needing to use a tumble dryer in bloody MAY!

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 10/05/2021 11:23

Morning folks. It was pouring with rain here but the sun has now come out but not sure it will stay out for long.

I was going to do some baking today but not sure I can be bothered now. Maybe I will feel more like it after lunch.

TheWoollybacksWife · 10/05/2021 11:30

Great Crazy. PM me when you are ready. Just bear in mind that I had a bit of a wait between registering as a customer and being able to place an order PLUS you can only use the referral code if you are registering for the first time so I assume you'll need to register and add the code at the same time and then you'll find out if they can do deliveries to you.

Welcome Spn. The countdown starts again on Christmas Day - we're like an infinity loop. My last household birthday was last month so there's no further distractions or significant present spending until the Christmas present buying starts.

Fluffy when we first met my DH was bemused by my Christmas planning. He has already pointed out his Christmas present for this year. That's what 30+ years of Stockholm Syndrome does for you 😂. It's a hot composter. We know how to live! I add orange juice to my dried fruit for fruit cakes too including my Christmas cake (plus shed loads of brandy)

I've been evangelising about probiotic capsules for IBS. They have made a massive difference to DH. His doesn't seem to be triggered by any particular food, though.

NoWordForFluffy · 11/05/2021 07:25

Morning.

Fail today. It should be Sainsbury's delivery day. Except it's not. I've been merrily amending next week's order, not realising it isn't today's. God knows how I did it; probably exiting the app 1 second too early and it not registering. It's coming tomorrow now. Though I'm popping to get some high points items in a bit! Good start to the day. 🤦‍♀️😂

CrazyBaubles · 11/05/2021 07:59

Morning and Welcome Spn 👋

Woolly in that case could you pm me your referral code please and I'll sign up to Riverford today. 🤞🏼 they deliver to me!

I ordered some things from Dunelm yesterday and was muttering because they had red tartan fat quarters on the website but they're out of stock. DH had a look and actually commented that they would have been nice for Christmas napkins (which is what I wanted them for) so I think my love for Christmas planning is rubbing off on him a bit Xmas Grin

Work today, also day 2 of patio and I have someone coming to install a smart meter this afternoon.
Not going to do a lot really as my day is meeting heavy and I have period cramps 😔

CrazyBaubles · 11/05/2021 08:01

Ooh also, I finished the main part of my Christmas cross stitch last night - just the backstitch to go now! Xmas Smile

Countdown to Christmas 2021 (Thread 3): Jesus, Mary and Joseph and the wee donkey, isn't it Christmas yet?!
NoWordForFluffy · 11/05/2021 09:19

That's so good, Crazy! I've fallen out with the sky as I totally lost my ability to count and kept going bloody wrong. 🙄🙄 I've attached my one (it's day 13 today).

Spn, sorry, I didn't say hi! I hope you've planned your tree(s) in your new house!

Woolly, excellent training of your DH there. Well done! Xmas Grin

Crazy, after 30 years your DH may be like Woolly's. Xmas Wink

NoWordForFluffy · 11/05/2021 09:22

Forgot the damn photo. It's forgetful day / week.

TheWoollybacksWife · 11/05/2021 10:08

Amazing cross stitches Crazy and Fluffy. I've messaged you the code Crazy.

I've got some knitting and crochet projects (new family baby and some WH stuff) to do that will take me to the end of this month. Then I've promised DS a pair of socks that I should make soon or his feet will grow to Hobbit size before I finish 😂

NoWordForFluffy · 12/05/2021 07:34

Morning!

It's allegedly meant to be dry today. Perhaps. It's like May is having April's showers! No day is safe. 🙄

I've put the washing out, anyway. Hopefully it'll be done by lunchtime and I'll get it in then.

Today, Sainsbury's is coming. Maybe Weds is a better day for stock, as no subs! Might have to try it again. 😁

Is your DS doing a shooting upwards thing, Woolly? He's about the age for it, isn't he?

NoWordForFluffy · 12/05/2021 07:35

Oh, Bothy kits seem to be on sale at all usual online outlets, if any cross stitchers would like to buy! I have so many in reserve that I dare not look.

TheWoollybacksWife · 12/05/2021 08:13

He seems to have shot up in the past year and is already head and shoulders taller than me Fluffy and taller than his big sisters. DH is just a smidge under 6' so I imagine DS will finish up somewhere around there. Going by not having to shorten his trousers he seems to be bang on average height for his age very scientific. He's got his DoE expedition soon so I hope the rain buggers off in the next few days.

I know what you mean about having a stock of projects. I've got yarn for at least 3 big projects, half a dozen pairs of socks plus a few odds and ends that will make little things. I've also got my Christmas tea towels to cross stitch (that's just a border) and I bought a kit for a Christmas project that I want to do for my DDs. If I'm honest I've probably got stuff to keep me busy for the rest of the year.
