The one we were going to doesn't take bookings! It's a tiny indie selling weird and wonderful beers. Now we aren't though as DH's parents can't have the kids. They can on Monday, but I don't want to go drinking on Monday, so I'm now pissed off as I was looking forward to it. Sigh.

Constantly, it's not possible to go too crazy where Christmas is concerned!

70, peanut butter is way cheaper in bulk! We get through a fair amount. I don't like it, mind you.

Crazy, you were probably barely-born when they were in it! 😂

Crazy, is your dog suffering after the anaesthesia? It sends people pukey, so probably dogs too.

OP posts:
CrazyBaubles · 01/05/2021 09:52

Wee do they have a good reason for no longer being able to have the kids for you? We have nothing arranged and I'm annoyed about that - not sure I could handle the disappointment of having something planned then having to cancel.

I was born mid-80s so didn't start watching until mid-late 90s.

I think ddog is a mix of the anaesthetic and him being a greedy git who ate more than he could handle yesterday

We've just arranged to have a breakfast delivered to get us going today 😋

WeeDonkey · 01/05/2021 10:27

It's not the having, apparently, it's the bringing them back if we've had a drink. They have some church thing on today and have no clue when it'll finish.

I've just rustled up a batch of Yorkshire Puddings for my DS ( new YP tin so I wanted to give it a trial run) Made 4 x the wider flatter ones .

Bloody Lush I tell you Xmas Grin . DS is a 100% Yorkshire Pudding Addict so he was pleased .

Once the dough is done I'll get it shaped and flavoured then 2nd proving

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 01/05/2021 17:54

The Cinnamon Buns were really lovely , fluffy in the middle .
I think they needed more cinnamon than the recipe stated and I should've trusted my instinct and used a parchment liner because they were a devil to get out .
I can see myself rustling up a batch over Christmas , probably not on The Big Day though.

We started putting out plants but it rained .
Went back out later , planted them out . DH started planning where the other plants were going to go, when they arrive .

What was your breakfast Crazy ? Did DDog look longingly through his poorly little starved eyes ?

CrazyBaubles · 01/05/2021 22:13

70 we ordered full breakfasts (DH has everything - I swapped black pudding for hash browns and bacon for extra sausages). It was really tasty and kept us going all day.

Ddog is still ill. He's been sick twice more

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 01/05/2021 23:18

I'm thinking of doing a Big Vegetarian Breakfast tomorrow ( well it'll be nearer lunch time by the time we galvanise ourselves) call it Brunch .

Morning!

It's allotment day today. The excitement never ends! 😂😂

Crazy, big breakfasts last us all day too. The kids still eat lunch after one, but we don't these days! We only generally have one in a hotel, however.

Did the vet warn you that your dog may be pukey? I hope it stops soon. Our dog used to get plain rice at such times!

CrazyBaubles · 02/05/2021 07:55

Morning!

70 I love a brunch!

Wee Vet told us he could be completely out of sorts for up to a week because of his age making him take longer to recover.
He's been on rice since Wednesday, with a tiny amount of either scrambled egg or boiled chicken mixed in and seems a bit better since his last bit of vomiting. His problem is that even if he has an upset stomach he will still eat 🙄

I was meant to meet up with my sister and the kids today but have cancelled due to this bad thread / cough I have so I'll just do the jobs I should have done yesterday.

MarshmallowManiac · 02/05/2021 09:37

Checking in Wee , love the thread title. Grin
Lovely sunny day here, bit chilly though. Heading to Lidl/Range/Garden Centre today and having bbq in the afternoon. Smile

WeeDonkey · 02/05/2021 15:20

Afternoon!

I've done my allotment jobs and now ache. I didn't ache when I got home, so had a shower. I wish I'd had a bath now! 🤦‍♀️

It's meant to absolutely chuck it down tomorrow; typical bank holiday. I don't mind though, as I have no plans (outdoors, anyway!).

I've just had to emergency buy some fleece for C&C at B&Q tomorrow as it's going to be frosty overnight Tuesday / Weds and my beans need covering. I shall send DH to get it, ha ha.

My rhubarb has gone mad this week. I've been giving it a good water every week, which it clearly appreciates. It's 2 plants which mum gave me after splitting hers (size 8 feet, for reference!).

It's really warm here when it's sunny and the wind drops. Bloody freezing when it's windy and the sun is behind a cloud though! I wouldn't fancy a BBQ, it has to be said. #nesh

I hope you feel better soon, Crazy. Flowers

We have rain on track tomorrow afternoon (typical) but good for the ground .
DH has been all shivery/achey . luckily he's kept it to himself .

Just faffing about now , dropped DS off at his guitar lesson and waiting for LoD .

MarshmallowManiac · 02/05/2021 20:36

Getting chips and dip ready for LOD Smile

WeeDonkey · 02/05/2021 20:45

I wouldn't want to crunch food while watching; could miss something!

We're eating rhubarb crumble before it starts.

Felt a bit deflated by LOD ending. Hopefully it was being set up for next season.
Rhubarb crumble sounds fab wee donkey. I am planning a bank holiday plum crumble tonight. Hopefully my apple trees will produce their first crop in the autumn.

WeeDonkey · 03/05/2021 09:13

I enjoyed LoD. Yes, it wasn't all guns blazing, but if it had been, then potentially one of the main 3 would've died. And people wouldn't have liked that either!

I do feel there was a very political undertone to this series (in the first episode Osborne was asked about police numbers, and challenged on the 'new' police just replacing previously-cut police, for instance) and JM used it as a vehicle to show his distaste of the Tories. With Buckells being akin to BoZo.

It was a realistic ending, which isn't what we're used to!

OP posts:
ConstantlyCooking · 03/05/2021 11:00

I liked Ted's confession- it showed integrity. I hope there is another series. I really enjoy the detailed interrogations!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 03/05/2021 11:08

I watched LoD then the final 2 episodes of Between the Lines straight after . ( I think Series 2 is more ramped up from what I remember)

I was feeling a bit "Is this it then " with Line of Duty .
The Prison Van switch was a bit contrived .

But it had to be Buckells in there (even if he wasn't H, he kept appearing and being gormless ).
Glad it wasn't Ted, Kate or Steve and equally glad it wasn't Carmicheal.

But it didn't have the grittiness of the Series 5 finale .
And all the "No Comment" was a letdown. Surely if they are Police in an AC12 interview the No Comment shouldn't be an option ?

CrazyBaubles · 03/05/2021 21:23

Evening. It's been a grey, rainy, miserable day here. DH had to go out and put the parasol down as the wind was so strong we were scared it was going to be damaged / blown over.
I've been lazy all day, mainly watching Handmaids Tale and cross stitching.

I enjoyed the LoD finale. Watched it with popcorn and a rum and Coke 😂
I agree it wasn't the action packed ending I wanted but it answered enough questions for me to be satisfied but left enough open that I can hope for a new series.

WeeDonkey · 04/05/2021 07:57

Morning!

It's very windy and rather grey here. Forecast is for rain on and off all day.

I popped to the allotment yesterday evening to fleece the beans. Hopefully it's weighted down with enough bricks to stop it blowing away! 🙈😂 Though our forecast temps aren't now at frost levels. It might protect them from the wind a bit, I suppose.

At least the forecast is dry tomorrow as we'll be well overdue a couple of loads of washing by then!

WreckTangled · 04/05/2021 08:27

The dc have got an inset day today so dh is off with them. I've been to the gym, popped to Tesco, had a shower and still have half an hour before I start work. So much easier when they don't need getting ready too!

It's really sunny here but with a very cold wind.

CrazyBaubles · 04/05/2021 10:27

Morning.
We have lovely blue sky and the sun is shining but it's still very windy and cold here. Will apparently rain on and off all afternoon too so I've got airers set up in the conservatory for washing.

No plans aside from work today - I woke myself up coughing a few times last night and feel awful today, almost like a hangover but without the enjoyment of a drink first!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 04/05/2021 20:25

We've had hailstines Xmas Shock
Proper downpours of hail.

The cats were sitting there all Ehhh?

WeeDonkey · 04/05/2021 20:42

At least they weren't out in it!

We've had rain on and off. It's on right now! Clearing overnight, however.
