Excellent! Grin

pussycatlickinglollyices · 19/06/2021 19:44

Crazy that was my situation too...including the DH going a bit 🤢 and wobbly.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 19/06/2021 20:02

DD and I had a quick scoot to Lakeside , it was quite busy which is good in a way as it was going into recievership. I'm guessing most people were there to spend not browse .
The High Streets here have so many empty shops Xmas Sad

I like strawberry jam but not with big bits of strawberry (I know , odd yeah) . Not a fan of scones really ,
I'd eat strawberry raw till I turned into one but I suppose with a huge haul you want to save some for delicious strawberry-ness later .

I made pizza dough for DS , the secret I've found is to leave it a good while in the pan to rise , then form into the bases for a second rise (the recipe said to shape after the time is up and they were a bit meh )

50:50 loaf in the breadmaker now for tomorrow .

I'm gone for a few hours and it's turned into the WI / Bake Off in here 😂
Jealous of all your baking and jam making skills.

puss I actually fee very sorry for DH when it happens because he knows he can't help, he feels rubbish and yet he treats me as though I'm poorly and tries to think of things he can do.

Fluffy My mum has HRT as she had to have a hysterectomy and it plunged her straight into menopause. Before they figured out the HRT she was all over the place. Not the same I know but HRT definitely saved her!

I'm personally a little bit scared of menopause and HRT. My hormones have been all over the place for a long time and fertility treatment made it all worse. I think when it happens, if both me and DH make it through in piece I'll be very surprised 😂

CrazyBaubles · 19/06/2021 20:06

I'm just home from a surprisingly successful trip with my eldest nephew. He tends to be a bit moany in nature but today he was chatting away about school, facts, computer games, friends etc.
We took him to our favourite burger place which he's wanted to go to for ages but its an hour away, then did a bit of shopping - we bought him a t shirt he wanted and he bought himself a few things with his brand new bank card so he felt very grown up.

Will now start working on the second glove. Pic attached of the first one. I'm rapidly going off them, I can't quite figure out why but they're colourful and sparkly so I'm sure niece will love them.

Awesome gloves crazy! Glad you had a lovely time with your DNephew :)

I made coconut jam sandwich bars today. Would have been even nicer with fluffy's jam!

pussycatlickinglollyices · 19/06/2021 21:33

Crazy Ooh, the mane looks soooo much better with the fusili curls. Grin

most I'm sure my DH would eat them all Grin but me and coconut...nope. 🤮

TheWoollybacksWife · 19/06/2021 22:08

Fabulous unicorn glove Crazy. I really like the plaited finish on the mane - very clever.

CrazyBaubles · 19/06/2021 22:52

Thank you. woolly the plait was my answer to the many many ends I didn't know what to do with!
I still don't really like them but they're 99% done - just an eye to add to each which I'll probably do tomorrow. Then on to the dinosaur ones for youngest nephew.

It's finally raining properly here which we desperately need. It sounds so nice on the conservatory roof.

Bed soon. I'm suddenly tired - not helped by DDog who's led on my lap and has been snoring for the last hour 😴

I'm about to get up and go to the allotment. The sooner I get there, the sooner I get back!

Cute gloves, Crazy.

I discovered I'd done a bit patch of stitching in the wrong place last night. Bugger. Unstitching is today's chore!

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 20/06/2021 06:54

Morning all :) 7hr and 53m of sleep for me last night.

NerosFiddle · 20/06/2021 07:49

Morning. I drew the short straw today and have been up since 5. I need a lot of coffee even though I'm not allowed it.

pussycatlickinglollyices · 20/06/2021 09:05

Morning.
1st load of washing in (2 more to go).
DH wants to clean the bird 💩 from the conservatory roof Hmm so I'll have to pause it at some stage.
In other news...we had some rain overnight!

CrazyBaubles · 20/06/2021 09:14

Why aren't you allowed coffee Neros?
I think I'm very sensitive to caffeine and it causes me migraines so I don't drink coffee either. Love the smell though.

Fluffy you were up early! What a bugger having to pull out stitches 😖

I don't feel rested at all today, I'm not sure why.

Plans today are to see FIL for lunch then my dad this evening for Father's Day but before we go I need to tidy up a bit and put a wash on. Before that though I'm waiting for DH to bring me crumpets for breakfast 😋

ConstantlyCooking · 20/06/2021 09:56

70 firsts are always tough. I looked at some photos and thought of all the family news he would have loved yesterday. Today I can think more about DS having his 2nd Father's Day!
The strawberries look amazing. I am currently spending a fortune on them.
On the countdown front- it's almost Midsummer- which for me marks the halfway point!

NerosFiddle · 20/06/2021 10:08

Crazy I can't drink coffee because of my dodgy ticker. Caffeine is my addiction so it's hard to give up.

NoWordForFluffy · 20/06/2021 12:44

The strawberries don't really last long, and while I like them, I can't eat as many as we get in a very short timeframe! DS ate about a punnet's worth yesterday, so he tried! 🍓😂

I'm just back from the allotment. It took longer than I'd wanted it to, annoyingly. Tired now. I do have a bacon sandwich calling my name though! 😁

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 20/06/2021 13:47

Ooh Crazy once you've done the multi-colour Unicorn gloves could you do white with gold (or silver) running through?
They'd be impossible to keep clean but lovely for a Christmas Walk or Carol Singing type outings .

I've just looked on the Aldi website for "JuneMas" / "Junemass" but all it gave was a load of alcohol. Even "Pies" didn't give me mincepies .

I'm not doing Christmas in June but I do fancy a mincepie and Aldi have some nice beauty items (with the all important Leaping Bunny )

Might have to float in next week .......

NoWordForFluffy · 20/06/2021 16:06

I've had a busy afternoon since getting home and am now knackered!

I potted more chillies on, potted some Swiss Chard on, which I was given today as a leek swap, sowed some more sweetcorn as I need extra / rabbit replacements 🙄, picked more strawberries with the kids (DS has eaten them all!) and culminated in cleaning the kitchen (etc) for the last 45 minutes.

NerosFiddle · 20/06/2021 20:54

Apparently Aldi are doing Christmas in July are selling mince pies again. Damn NI for not having an Aldi!

Slimysofaslug · 20/06/2021 21:19

Aldi are not doing it in Ireland either, but i have noticed a lot of yankee and vases and things in my local Mr price, all Christmas patterned ones. and the range had the silver and red berry picks that i use for the Christmas tree and garlands reduced this week.

CrazyBaubles · 20/06/2021 22:09

Neros I think I may have missed about your dodgy ticker. Does it effect you much day to day?

70 how are you today?
Thank you for the glove idea - I've wanted to make myself a pair for ages but I'm always under time constraints making presents that I never get around to it.
I have a lovely soft off-white yarn and some great glittery / sparkly silver and possibly some glittery red too.... I'll have to add them to my list Xmas Grin

I'm not long home from a busy day - walked to FILs for a late breakfast (in the garden) for Father's Day, went for a walk, home, showered, did some housework then went to my parents for tea.
I'm annoyingly tired but too wide awake to sleep anytime soon 🙄

NoWordForFluffy · 20/06/2021 22:57

I think we may have discussed Nero's dicky ticker before, as I recall posting this before for some reason!

NoWordForFluffy · 21/06/2021 06:34

Morning!

We were woken at 5.30 by birds in hobnail boots on the roof. I'm pissed off as I'd wanted a proper sleep last night and have been cheated out of an hour. 😡

Rain is now forecast for Weds, DD's birthday. She's in school and loves a wet break, so that will suit her! It's her first ever birthday on a school day, thanks to Covid (she'll be 8).

WreckTangled · 21/06/2021 07:12

We've got heavy rain forecast all fab today. I want the sun back. Five weeks until the summer holidays...
