I dunno about genetics. I don't really know how it affected mum but I think Why is having relative similar, but not identical, experience to me (albeit she started earlier).

Mine isn't hideous, but I'd like more sleep, non-aching joints and to rid my eyes of their issues. Plus the never-ending stupidly-light period. My libido back might be helpful - for DH - too! I need to investigate HRT, but that takes effort.

My DS was out last night (he's been doing his finals so really keen to have some escape time)
I made a batch of cookies a couple of weeks ago and froze half the dough. So warm delicious Martha Stewart chocolate chip cookies for breakfast !

I have no idea how far I am through the menopause , still get hot flushes , the brain fog and waves of fatigue .
But I decided against HRT and just decided to brazen it out .
Could do without the mid torso weight gain but my skin and hair seems to be coping . Going greyer (through choice , I've ditched the dye a couple of years ago )

Tomorrow will be my first Fathers Day without my Dad .
Feels very strange .

Have you looked at the dementia risks of not taking HRT, 70? Davina's programme the other week was eye-opening on that front.

I didn't see the Davina programme Fluffy. Artificial hormones turn me loopy so I thought I'd dodged a bullet avoiding HRT.

I didn't see it no, but I did go to a Conference a couple of years ago (NHS workplace where statistically a huge % are menopausal/peri-menopausal women)
It was interesting and the risks of some types of cancer were covered . But it didn't make me want to go onto HRT .

More strawberries!

Some of the plants have failed badly. They now have pots on top of them! I have swept most of the garden path (we have a fair amount due to a large side return), so moved the pots to a new location!

So many 🐌🐌🐌🐌 hiding around my pot rims. 🤮🤮

It's to do with the lack of oestrogen, apparently, 70. Or I think it is, as I was stitching at the same time!

I really do want to try it. I need to find my symptoms checklist first (I'm in a useful Facebook group) and then go well-armed to the GP.

I forgot to mention my ability to forget words. Irritating when it's a normal legal word I use often!

Oh, something bitey must've been in my bra when I was in the garden, as I've a load of bites leading down the strap onto the boob on the right. Not good!

HRT is a beautiful thing. Made me feel so much better. Not perfect but I stopped forgetting things and my core temperature dropped from inferno to bonfire 🤣 the insomnia went as well.

I will definitely be giving HRT a go when it is my time.

My local bbc radio station did a special week on menopause last week. Some interesting stuff on it.

I pulled a load of thistles at the allotment on Thursday. My hay fever has been playing up, so my histamine reaction was extreme. I came up in welts everywhere! Including one on my boob, which was soooooooo itchy

Interesting you're struggling for rain - we've had enough this week it's refilled the bucket under the greenhouse drainpipe. I am not complaining!

I watched a programme on iplayer with Kirsty Wark about 18months ago about menopause. It was excellent if anyone can find it.
