I can't sleep without a cover either, 70. But sheets are a bit too lightweight. I'm a fussy bugger. What I don't like is holiday accommodation with winter duvets ALL YEAR ROUND.

It's gone cloudy here too and is less oppressive than it was first thing. The bedroom has dropped 1° in temp too, thankfully.

I have my Christmas socks on as my feet are almost always cold.

Charliebradbury · 10/06/2021 10:31

Morning. It's warm here with a slight breeze, started of cloudy but now very sunny. I hate this weather tbh. I'm not made for heat. The walk to school kills me everyday. The only good thing about it is it seems to knock my ds out and he actually sleeps which is brilliant or would be if the dog didn't wake us up at 5am!!!
I was planning on finishing some painting in dds room today but the dog is in puppy teething and I can't leave him alone. Last time I did he chewed through my kitchen floor. So lazy day I suppose haha.

My DD wears her Christmas socks still Xmas Grin
I got her an Advent Christmas Socks Calendar from QVC last year , 12 pairs , 3 different lengths .
Some more jazzy than others .
She was sporting a pale blue Nordic print yesterday .

Burnt0utMum · 10/06/2021 11:19

Ah this has made me want Christmas socks now especially as I've just found my Xmas candle with a bit of burning time left and decided to use it up now so I can treat myself to a new one for this Xmas.

Cloudy here too but still warm. Working all day but I'm so tempted to get outside.

CrazyBaubles · 10/06/2021 11:46

I'm a fussy sleeper too. When it's hot like this I like a fan on, summer duvet over me but arms and 1 leg out 😂

Fluffy I always have cold feet - for the last few Christmases my mum has bought me thick, double likes fleece Christmas socks and last year, when I complained of how cold it can be WFH she bought me a 'keep warm' kit. I had a long hot water bottle, a black thick shawl, more socks and this (pic). It's amazing, so nice and warm Xmas Smile

An advent calendar of Christmas socks sounds amazing 70!

Burnt I had a catch up with my friend a few weeks ago, our first in over 18 months. We exchanged very delayed Christmas presents and mine included some Christmas scented candles. DH rolls his eyes when he gets in and smells festive candles. He has learned not to comment though .

I'm just out of the meeting. It lasted an hour and I probably understood about 25% of what was said - I have a list of things I need to find out what they are / what they mean 🤯
Imposter syndrome is a bugger on these days so I'm taking a small break to work on my nieces unicorn gloves.

pussycatlickinglollyices · 10/06/2021 13:42

Oh god.
There is one "musical" instrument I cannot stand.

Someone is "out the back" playing bloody bagpipes 😱😱🤬🤬

pussycatlickinglollyices · 10/06/2021 13:43

Someone else is having a new TV aerial...
I prefer them as a neighbour. Grin

pussycatlickinglollyices · 10/06/2021 13:53

Wreck I forgot to post a photo of the orange tulips from spring...here they are --they've died off and been dug up now.

I really do need to buy him some braces to hold his trousers up - sometimes he looks like Compo.🤫

pussycatlickinglollyices · 10/06/2021 14:00

Do you sometimes look like Nora Batty?

CrazyBaubles · 10/06/2021 14:35

Your garden looks lovely puss, neat and tidy but colourful. Mine isn't anywhere near so tidy!
Is that a bird house or a feeder? I want to get some of each at some point.

pussycatlickinglollyices · 10/06/2021 14:36

Yes.

pussycatlickinglollyices · 10/06/2021 14:37

Crazy Hang on a tick, I might have the hangy label thing from it...

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 10/06/2021 14:38

Does MrPussyCat know that his Buildres'Bum has made a guest appearance on MN? Albeit hidden behind a handily placed pot of tulips Xmas Grin

In the spirit of Christmas I have just made a batch of buns ( half of them Cinnamon, half of them Banana Chip)
They are delicious and demand to be eaten within hours of making .

In my garden I have night scented stock that is already growing , planted on Sunday !
PassionFlower has 3 flowers (I didn't grow this one it was a pretty decent size when I bought it)
Nastursiums have flowers but I don't grow it for that , we're waiting for Cabbage White Butterfliy caterpillars .

pussycatlickinglollyices · 10/06/2021 14:41

it's this one:
table

but we got it from the local garden centre for £50.

I only used the peanut thingy once, my birdies don't seem to like peanuts they do like stale scones though the only advantage is keeping the neighbours cat out of the table. 😺

pussycatlickinglollyices · 10/06/2021 14:43

70 Nah, that kind of fame would go to his head and it's big enough 😂

I'll take a pic of my spuds.

pussycatlickinglollyices · 10/06/2021 14:52

Spuds.

pussycatlickinglollyices · 10/06/2021 15:35

I'm going to have to kill DH that's not "earusband" it's "ickead"

We're waiting for the plumber to fit a new cartridge in the shower in our ensuite, prob tomorrow or Mon...

DH decided to try the "spare" shower in my ensuite it's tiny, like a glass coffin, you can't bend over in it and now that's leaking too.

He's moaning about getting no signal on his phone, or the line is busy...

Bollocks to that - I'm not ringing the plumber. The big shower is fine, just a bit low on pressure. He can always take a bath or I might just Karcher him

🤬🤬🤬🤬

I might need alcohol...

pussycatlickinglollyices · 10/06/2021 15:39

fluffy you might need to bake me a cake...🪓

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 10/06/2021 16:31

I am off till Saturday afternoon now. Had to laugh today one of the patients has decided I am called something completely different to my usual name. I have just been going along because it has not been worth trying to keep correcting her. It had slipped my mind today and she was waving going hello Emma and I was just looking blankly at her 🤣

TheWoollybacksWife · 10/06/2021 17:25

why where I used to live there is a chap who's role is to stand at the back of church and greet people. He was absolutely lovely and used to meet me with a huge smile and "Hello Louise". My name isn't Louise Confused but I was too polite to correct him. It confused my MIL when she came to visit but it tickled my DC. If I spent too long chatting they would grab my arm and say "Come on Louise, time to go home"

CrazyBaubles · 10/06/2021 17:37

That's lovely puss. I think I'm going to have to start with a much smaller one and see how we go.
Is there a way of feeding smaller birds but not the bigger ones? We have some small birds (no idea what they are) that I really like but we also have lots of magpies and crows and a few seagulls that I don't want to feed!

Just doing a quick welfare check on your H too puss. Did you have a drink or do you need an alibi? 👀

70 I have lavender in pots in the back garden and by the front door, grown purely to benefit bees. Its all currently undergoing a growth exploration and I actually saw 2 bees on it yesterday I was excited, DH was a bit bemused but my reaction

why when I was a support worker, I was at a hotel for a wedding with DH and bumped into one of the people I supported (they were service users then, not sure of the correct term now). He took one look at DH in a suit, decided the way he was standing and the way he ironed his shirt meant he must be in the military and commented on it everytime I saw him (asking if DH was away 'serving,' asking what regiment he was in etc). DH would never join the army - he worked in shop at time Confused

Charliebradbury · 10/06/2021 17:56

One of my best friends has a very welsh name and works reception at a hotel. We have a running tally of all the ridiculous names they get called, my favourite so far is Phil... its nowhere close. I've ordered them a personalised Phil mug for Christmas haha
