Service Users is still the main term Crazy. She did not understand me trying to explain as she is so poorly so ran with it. I have been called far worse to be fair 🤣

pussycatlickinglollyices · 10/06/2021 21:10

Crazy I had a drink. 🍺
How about getting a feeding station instead? It just sticks in the ground and you can hang different feeders from it - fat balls in one, seed mix in another etc.
Something like this
On our old table, I stuck some bamboo diagonally in a X on each side to stop the cat bigger birds from getting in - it worked surprisingly well, as it was only held in with blu-tac Grin

CrazyBaubles · 10/06/2021 21:45

Thanks puss. I think the feeding station is practical but it doesn't look as nice as yours.
I think we're going to start small this summer and maybe get something like yours next year.

I'm trying to look online for a present for eldest nephews birthday but I have no idea what to look for. He's going to be 11 - he's a bit like a teen already (all gaming focused and thinks a lot of things are too babyish). Help!

pussycatlickinglollyices · 10/06/2021 22:00

crazy if you do go for the feeding station, have a look at wilko or B&M, you might get a basic one for a tenner - I might get one for the other side of the garden. That will give you some idea of what birdie visitors you're likely to get with a table. Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 10/06/2021 22:28

I was going to suggest Wilko, Puss. They definitely did a bargain one.

And we may be sharing a cell. Somebody else will need to bake a cake. DH is doing my head in. I wish he'd just use his initiative and do stuff other than the stuff he always does. And doing stuff faster, so he can do more, would also be good. Sigh.

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 10/06/2021 22:32

You are not far enough into the husband training programme yet Fluffy. That stage won't be met for years 🤣

TheWoollybacksWife · 10/06/2021 22:58

I'm baking at the weekend - just let me know where to send the cakes. I'll raid DH's toolbox for the fillings.

FireflyGirl · 11/06/2021 07:17

Morning all!

buysubscriptions.com have their 12 issues for £1 offer on. You can choose the start date.

I've ordered mine to start the latest date currently possible, 11th December. One Christmas tradition Covid can't ruin!!

Morning! Warm, but a small amount of rain this morning. I trusted the forecast and didn't go to water the allotment! It's no great shakes, but it'll do for me / the plants!

Why, how long does it bloody take? 😭😭😭 I'd have anticipated 9 years being enough. Sigh.

Case in point: we have slugs coming in from behind our dishwasher. I keep telling DH we need to move it out to find out if there's a leak attracting them in. Yes, he agrees with me. But does he do it? Does he buggery. I've told him he has to do it today (which means he won't do what he normally does on a Friday, most likely, given he's incapable of squeezing loads in / whizzing round). I did say that I was sick of telling him it needed doing (I can't do that kind of thing with my shoulder; I'm not injuring myself when he can do it).

FireflyGirl · 11/06/2021 07:28

On the Radio Times. sigh Back into the sleep-deprived fug I go...

NoWordForFluffy · 11/06/2021 07:28

Oh, I made more mincemeat last night as I bought the ingredients with Nectar points this week (I missed the first week of the fruit and veg challenge due to how it was - badly - timed, so wanted to catch up a bit with dried fruit!).

NoWordForFluffy · 11/06/2021 07:29

Do they let you do it every year, Firefly? I've had them refuse to let me have new trials in some titles, as I've had them before!

Charliebradbury · 11/06/2021 07:41

Morning all. Ds woke up in the night with a fever so it's isolation and testing for us. For the 2nd time in 2 weeks. Last week is was dd.
Got to teach my 6 year old fractions so this should be interesting. We have done so well this year at avoiding isolations but looks like our luck has run out. I was meant to be getting my vaccination today but have had to rearrange it.
Oh well. At least ita the weekend so not much missed as long as the test is negative.

CrazyBaubles · 11/06/2021 08:11

Morning. It's MOT day here Car is officially 20ys old now and is practically retired - we keep it purely because I love it so much and it's cute. Fingers crossed for us please!

Oh dearFluffy. What does your D(?)H usually do on a Friday that now may be missed?

I think why is right. We've been together 18 years and my DH still isn't 100% trained yet. My case in point: he painted some huge picture frames before we moved. One got badly scratched in the move, before he'd put anything in it. Since moving he's hung the frame to make sure it fits and had the photos to go in it printed. However, he hasn't repainted it or put anything in it yet - and we've been here since JANUARY! 🤬 When I mention it I get a run down on how busy he is etc - but he's just had a week off!

I'm going to look at the subscriptions now. It's a pity you can't use it to get issues of different magazines in 2 or 3 months - if I could get 4 different magazines editions (October November and December) for £1 that would be amazing!

pussycatlickinglollyices · 11/06/2021 08:44

Morning.
I've had my DH for 18 yrs, married for 9 - looks like training will take longer
firefly does that mean you get the christmas RT (and some others) for £1??? it's saying £51.25 for 6 months on the offer...is there a code? sorry to wake you

pussycatlickinglollyices · 11/06/2021 08:45

Crazy good luck with the MOT. 🤞🏻

FireflyGirl · 11/06/2021 08:49

Fluffy I know one of the subscription sites have cancelled my order if I tried to do more than one 'trial', but I've ordered this one for the last four years, at least.

FireflyGirl · 11/06/2021 08:53

I've been up since about 5.30, puss Hmm

If you follow the link, it should look like my photo, with the option of 12 issues for £1, and yes you can set the start date so it includes the Christmas edition.

pussycatlickinglollyices · 11/06/2021 08:58

Firefly I don't get that - I get this (but I'm on laptop not phone)
I wonder if you have to have an app?
In which case I'm a bit screwed without a smart phone again

FireflyGirl · 11/06/2021 09:07

Fluffy I've just had a cancellation email. They must have cottoned on this year.

Oh well 🤷

FireflyGirl · 11/06/2021 09:26

How strange puss. Not sure why that is!

NoWordForFluffy · 11/06/2021 09:47

Crazy, vacuuming. A half hour job which takes him all day. 🙄

TheWoollybacksWife · 11/06/2021 09:55

Charlie 🤞for a negative and good luck with the fractions.

Everything seemed to be coming up at full price for me too Firefly

I've been with my DH for 34 years, married for 32. He faffs but I'm either oblivious to his faffing or I subconsciously accept it happens. I'm going for oblivious as I'm not known for my patience 😂

TheWoollybacksWife · 11/06/2021 09:57

I was OUT OUT last night. Dinner and drinks with friends at a pub. All dressed up with makeup and everything. It was brilliant.

pussycatlickinglollyices · 11/06/2021 10:17

fluffy mine isn't that bad...but he only does the middle of the room, I have to deposit a lot of ginger cat hair point out the edges need doing. He won't move anything either, not even a pair of shoes, or the laptop cable - he'll either go around it or mow it. 🤦🏻‍♀️
