Oh Charlie is your poor cat ok? Was it another cat that attacked him?

I was in John Lewis today , there was a Sale shelf with Christmas items on it ( beaded placemats , runners type of things)
My DD (who was getting to the want to go home stage was very It's June ............. she's got very judgey since she became an adult Xmas Grin

Actually last year when we ventured into the JL Christmas Shop it was busy , we couldn't browse much . I bought a couple of gift bags I'd coveted online but nothing else .

I bought her PJs (for Summer) not organised enough to get her Christmas pyjamas just yet Xmas Grin

CrazyBaubles · 07/06/2021 20:13

Sounds like a full on but fun day (except the T-Rex) Fluffy

Where are you roughly charlie? There are a few of us Welshies on the thread.
Hope your cat is ok.

70 your dd wasn't interested in a JL Christmas shelf? Are you sure she has your dna? 😂

New washing machine has arrived. DH fitted it but it moves a lot while on spin and he's tried adjusting things to stop it but couldn't work it out so has given up for a bit.
I have a headache coming so I'm no help.

I saw a fb post this morning - something about the Hallmark channel doing Christmas in July, a mix of new and old films. Apparently they have a new one called Crashing Through The Snow - sounds amazingly naff doesn't it? I don't think I have the hallmark channel but will look for a way to access it - normally a job for DH but I doubt he'll help with this Xmas Grin

Charliebradbury · 07/06/2021 20:18

It was a Unneutered Tom cat, luckily its all superficial wounds so as long as they stay clean it should be fine. Bloody hate it.

crazy I'm in North Wales, Conwy county. If you have amazon prime you can pay extra for hallmark I think its a few quid a month, but you can usually get the first week free I think.

My dd is only 6 but is obsessed with Christmas. I caught her teacher her little brother jingle bells the other day. I was so proud haha

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 07/06/2021 21:29

Xmas Grin I know Crazy , I was this close >< to stealing her hairbrush for a sample to send off to "DodgyDNA.com" but TBH , the Christmas Sale Shelf wasn't that inspiring ...

In DD defence , when I shake anything metallic that jingles and say Teacher says, every time a bell rings an angel gets its wings she doesn't run off screamng Xmas Wink .

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 07/06/2021 23:06

My DS was really into dinosaurs when he was little , and yes , a trip ( more than once) to the NHM was one of his favourites .

There was a walkway then through a door and a spiralling ramp or straircase to come face to face with the moving , roaring T.Rex . Might still be the same or they might have moved things .

We did a Dinosaur Dig once , bones (fake bones) buried in sand to dig out then you had to identify if it was a Herbivore or Carnivore .

Morning!

I've started work early, but my bloody system has decided to update, scuppering me. Pain in the arse.

It's quite warm today, and hazy, so should burn off nicely later.

The kids are still asleep, thankfully. Not sure how long we will get out of them, but they need to catch up a little / get over the trip.

NoWordForFluffy · 08/06/2021 08:00

70, it was that moving dino which freaked them out! It's a bit different now due to the one way system in place though.

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 08/06/2021 10:08

I did a bank shift on the phones yesterday Fluffy and my computer decided to restart mid phone call. Luckily I just managed to finish it.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 08/06/2021 10:15

whydoes my computer does this .
And it'll spring up a little message Due to inactivity the computer will lock while I am bloody typing on it .

Inactivity my arse ! Xmas Angry

200 days . I have just told my DS ..the reply was : "And?"
He;s in a chinzy mood because I made him clean the bottom on the oven (my new oven) that he uses more than the rest of us put together Xmas Grin

CrazyBaubles · 08/06/2021 10:19

Morning. It's hot here again.
Charlie I'm probably about as far away from you as I can get while being in the same country - south east / Gwent area Xmas Grin

I'll have a look at Amazon for the hallmark channel. Would love to indulge in their Christmas in July.

70 you've reminded me that there is a Matalan outlet not to far away from me where they sell things out of season. It's usually around now that they bring out Christmas stuff - if I'm at a loose end at some point I'll have to go and have a look.

Are the kids in school tomorrow Fluffy?

I'm working until 4 then will possibly end up roped into helping DH with the washing machine again because he didn't do it yesterday (he was very achey from hiking over the weekend and was also tired and a bit snappy so I left him to it) 🙄
Maybe I'll steal the phrase chinzy mood because that explains DH yesterday perfectly 😂

TheWoollybacksWife · 08/06/2021 11:22

70 I can highly recommend oven liners. I bought mine from Lakeland but have just bought one for DD1's oven from Dunelm. They just rinse under the tap and have saved the bottom of my oven from many a burnt on pizza cheese incident. The only annoying thing about them is that it blows about gently in the fan oven and rattles against the door 😂

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 08/06/2021 11:43

I need to check those out Woolly , I will have to make sure my oven doesn't heat at the base and if its ok, I'll get one ( I was in Lakeland yesterday , never thought to buy one )

I did buy the Astonish Oven paste (with sponge) it smells like oranges Xmas Grin which is what DS used .
He was like the Karate Kid Wax On/Wax Off

TheWoollybacksWife · 08/06/2021 12:02

I bet that smells lovely 70 - I like citrus "flavours" for cleaning products.

Your DS is musical isn't he? Is he into band T-shirts? My DS asked for more T-shirts for the summer and when I went to look at them, they were all black. Very summery, not! It might be the type of bands that he's into (Metallica etc) but where is my lovely little boy who looked fantastic in orange and lime green 😂

I did order him a shirt and managed to bag a half price guitar strap too. It's got the signature his favourite guitarist embroidered on it - it's going in the Christmas present stash but he can have the T-shirt as soon as it arrives.

CrazyBaubles · 08/06/2021 12:13

We have oven liners too (bought ours from Amazon). It's my attempt to look after the new oven without doing much actual cleaning.

My DH is into similar music Woolly. He seems to have a uniform of navy blue and black t shirts with various bands or sports clubs on them, with a few random pops of royal blue or grey in there - with the exception of 1 green t shirt and a few red Welsh rugby tops 🙄

TheWoollybacksWife · 08/06/2021 12:57

Thanks Crazy - they don't grow out of it, then? 😂 DH wears a lot of red so I haven't really noticed it before.

Keep your fingers crossed for me - I've done something irresponsible (irresponsible for a middle aged woman anyway). We are decorating three bedrooms. DS is moving to a bigger room and we've been looking for some quite specific wallpaper. I found some that he liked on a site that I hadn't heard of before and I bit the bullet and ordered it yesterday as there was a big discount. I only checked Trustpilot after I'd placed the order. The reviews weren't great 😢 mainly about delivery delays. I did use PayPal so I'm not totally screwed if there is a problem. DH is scrupulous about checking reviews so I feel a bit stupid.

pussycatlickinglollyices · 08/06/2021 13:01

Afternoon.
Waiting for a plumber...
The shower isn't "flowing" properly, it's too dribbly, apparently. 🤷🏻‍♀️
fluffy I think I would have jumped out of my skin if a bloody massive dinosaur started to move! 😂

pussycatlickinglollyices · 08/06/2021 13:04

Woolly Good luck with the wallpaper - you're a braver woman than me. 😨

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 08/06/2021 13:23

70 My VPN also acts like Netflix, 'are you still using me' well yes I am on someone's record currently so I would guess I am. Drives me bonkers especially as my vpn pin is on the work mobile and you can't look at it whilst on the phone......

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 08/06/2021 15:07

I don't think he has any favourites Woolly , they play a broad spectrum of music at his class . He's just started back after his exams . his poor little paws after not playing and blood donors arm .
He brought through a text from the Blood Service that his donation could be used to help 6 babies which makes the hanging about and mild discomfort worthwhile .
The cats bought him a Stratocaster guitar strap for Christmas (in the same colours as his guitar ) . They buy DD and DS a nice gift , really badly wrapped with lots of tape and fur sticking to it (poached idea from MN Xmas Grin )

TheWoollybacksWife · 08/06/2021 15:55

How lovely that he's helped 6 poorly babies 70 he's a ⭐️

I'm back from the dentist - check up, scale and polish all sorted for 6 months although I will see the hygienist later in the summer. While I was out I nipped into town and bought cards, some more wool and some buttons to finish the couple of baby cardigans I made last week.

DS's report is available to view online...

TheWoollybacksWife · 08/06/2021 15:57

I'm missed the post about his guitar strap gift from the cats. That is very sweet. Your description of their wrapping method seems to indicate my DH is not ham fisted as I previously suspected but he is actually part cat. Who knew?

Charliebradbury · 08/06/2021 16:47

crazy we couldn't get much further apart could we haha.

I have spent the last hour trying to fix our TV, lost my patience and just pulled the plug out. It now works. I do not understand technology. But at least ds can now watch more paw patrol. Yay!! Hmm

pussycatlickinglollyices · 08/06/2021 16:56

"part cat" 😂😂

Well, the "plumber" DH phoned hadn't been, so he chased them up and apparently they don't think they can help they fit and repair boilers mostly but he was given a number for another plumber that they use and has phoned him...
I'm keeping out of it.

We've got a baby blackbird hopping around in the bushes/shade at the side of the garden. Mum and Dad keep popping in to stuff him with grubs, but he's getting a bit bold so DH has taken up "guard duty" and is sitting in a chair ready to chase off any threats, including the tabby cat that was hiding in our tree at 5 this morning - one look at me in my PJs and he scarpered. 😱 the cat not DH...

NoWordForFluffy · 08/06/2021 16:58

Technology 101: always turn it off and on again first. 😂

pussycatlickinglollyices · 08/06/2021 17:16

Does that work on husbands? 🤔
