We stayed up watching Sherlock and now I'm wide awake. I'm unimpressed! 😂

At least we finally made it to thread 2...I doubt we will do as many this year!

I hauled myself into the shower at 7.30 then went off to Sainsbury .

There's a Party Shop I walked past , Closed for Covid with loads of Christmas items still on the shelves and dozens of Elf on the Shelf dolls .

I didn't look too close ( that would be weird . It's April . Good Friday in fact ...)

NerosFiddle · 02/04/2021 10:31

Morning.

Wreck I'd love to try five guys but they use peanut oil to cook and I'm allergic. Dh always gets it when he works away.

It's cold here but sunny. Clothes out on the line but there's no wind so don't think it'll dry.

WreckTangled · 02/04/2021 10:35

Oh that's annoying neros! Their burgers are delicious and they do them in a bowl or lettuce wrap so perfect for low carb.

WreckTangled · 02/04/2021 13:25

Couldn't get five guys as the earliest collection time was over an hour away Hmm so I still haven't eaten yet today and am feeling a bit tetchy

PussyCatEatingEasterEggs · 02/04/2021 13:46

Heritage

Sorry Grin

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 02/04/2021 14:42

I don't do any crafting so I'll let you off for that one PussyCat Xmas Grin

Your fellow cross stitchers might not be so lenient .............

WreckTangled · 02/04/2021 16:33

We went for a walk this afternoon. We've lived here over ten wars and have barely walked anywhere, just off the side of the road is an orchard with some ponies in it. They came up to say hi and have a stroke. So cute.

The only one I really want is really bargainous at Very Crafty at the moment (Santa's Job Done), but I've resisted so far. Just! 🎅🏻😂

I also bought 3 patterns from Etsy last night to add to my backlog. 🙈😂

So I'm going to be good. For now!

We're going to the woods / beach tomorrow now we don't have to stay local. And to Speke Hall on Weds next week. I stayed up to book at midnight and ended up in a queue, so booked when I woke up at bastarding 5.30am instead!

Hi folks. I am at work and it is pretty crazy. (I know I work on a psych ward but it is bats even as that goes).

NoWordForFluffy · 02/04/2021 18:22

I think I may be broken! 4.5 hours at the allotment, digging weeds up / potato trenches and planting my peas out. I hurt.

I then went to Sainsbury's and then onto M&S as the NW seems to be struggling with sweet pepper supplies and Sainsbury's had none! Their salad and broccoli / Brussels sections were also empty. Weird.

I did score another £2.40 in Nectar points from DH's offers though, even though I had to go to M&S for the missing peppers.

I also went to Aldi for beer. And their chilli and cheese hot crisps buns fell into my trolley. I shall try one later on as I'm bloody hungry after digging (no lunch was eaten!).

NoWordForFluffy · 02/04/2021 18:24

Hot cross buns. My phone hates me! 🙄

TheWoollybacksWife · 02/04/2021 18:29

I don't think it's just the NW Fluffy. Broccoli and cherry tomatoes are like gold dust on the Tesco website. Decent supplies in store though and M&S always seems to be fineConfused

NoWordForFluffy · 02/04/2021 18:35

We have no online or in-store stock (peppers). I always succeed in M&S though, so at least I have a fall back! It wouldn't be so bad if the kids ate green peppers. But they don't!

I'll have to add what comes in my order on Tuesday with regard to broccoli etc.

I'm assuming this is a Brexit thing. Maybe wrongly!

OP posts:
TheWoollybacksWife · 02/04/2021 18:53

I'm assuming it a Brexit thing too. I do MIL's online shopping order every week and it seems to be soft fruit that she can't get hold of - she doesn't eat the other items mentioned previously regularly enough for me to say if there is a supply problem.

I get a Riverford box so I can only order what they are offering in terms of fruit and veg.

NoWordForFluffy · 02/04/2021 18:58

The soft fruit section in Sainsbury's did look sad. DH had extra points on raspberries, but there weren't any.

I'll look Riverford up.

WreckTangled · 02/04/2021 20:23

I haven't noticed any issues here with fresh food, nothing missing from my food shop today and we had raspberries, strawberries, easy peelers, red peppers etc. I know there seemed to be lots of things out of stock when I was adding it but I can't remember what, think it was mainly fresh chicken and bread.

PussyCatEatingEasterEggs · 03/04/2021 07:01

Morning.
We went to Morrisons the other day and there was soooo much broccoli! (and carrots, parsnips and cabbage - any 3 for a £)
They had loads of salad and peppers too..
Could be the unseasonal hot weather - more people eating salad stuff last week? I also think I've had fewer issues with stuff being out of stock there than Tesco (Whiskas & cat litter - which is basically all I buy there).

NerosFiddle · 03/04/2021 07:15

Morning.

Puss you're up and about early.

Ive a wee procedure to be done today so I'm on route to the hospital.

PussyCatEatingEasterEggs · 03/04/2021 07:20

Good luck Nero 🌼

Puss, it's been a few weeks now. I'm rather Confused and Hmm that it does appear to be totally regional, bearing in mind everywhere else is fine. If I go online to book a collection or delivery, none of the supermarkets up here have sweet peppers. Or they have expensive organic ones. It's bizarre that it appears to be a very localised issue. Somebody needs to distribute the stocks better!

Nero, good luck today.

We're off to the woods later. We're all still in bed...I slept very well!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 03/04/2021 08:23

Good Luck Nero

Our Sainsbury had loads of Easter Eggs yesterday ( well 1 aisle full ) not the 6' blocks of them to ambush you as you walked in , but enough. I've already bought mine , DD and DS wanted one big egg each (the £8 ones) and I got a couple of the smaller items too .

Loads of peppers too .

No soya Alpro original though , every other type of non-dairy you could think of .

Having coffee then gardening today .
I have vegetables to make soup and a sourdough loaf for a change .

I cut DS hair yesterday , he was starting to look a bit mullet-ey . He claims to be furious but secretly he's pleased
No DC were harmed , my son is 5'11" and 21yo , he could escape if he wanted Xmas Wink

NoWordForFluffy · 03/04/2021 09:09

OK. If you could all send me one pack of mixed sweet peppers (the no-green ones) packs, that would be appreciated! 😂😂

OP posts:
NoWordForFluffy · 03/04/2021 09:10

Superfluous 'packs' in there. 🤣

TheWoollybacksWife · 03/04/2021 09:16

Good luck today Neros

Lazy day today. Everyone pitched in yesterday and the house is spotless until everyone gets up. Later this morning I'm off to the Butcher to pick up my meat for the week and I need to get my c&c order from Tesco later this afternoon but just for now I'm sitting downstairs with a cup of tea and my knitting listening to a West Side Story style birdsong stand-off between a wood pigeon on the garage roof and the thuggish blackbird who lives in the neighbour's conifer.
